Scunthorpe striker Joe Nuttall will serve a three match ban following his straight red card in the 3-1 defeat at Wealdstone.
The Iron had hoped to get the decision overturned having reviewed the video evidence, but Iron Bru can reveal the club’s appeal has been knocked back and the referee’s decision has been upheld.
Nuttall was given his marching orders on the stroke of half time following a 50/50 challenge with Wealdstone goalkeeper Samuel Howes.
He will now miss the next three games, starting with the Iron’s home clash with Notts County this weekend.
