Iron target Barnsley striker Miller

Iron Bru understands that Scunthorpe United are hopeful of concluding a loan deal for Barnsley striker George Miller ahead of the trip to Macclesfield on a Saturday.

Iron boss Paul Hurst is desperate to bolster his squad following a poor start to the season and has identified the former Middlesbrough man as competition for Kyle Wootton.

Miller, 21, who spent last season on loan at Bradford, made the switch to Oakwell from the Riverside in a £200,000 move but is seen as one for the future and Barnsley are willing to loan the front man until the end of the season.

It is understood the Iron’s head of recruitment Lee Turnbull watched Miller in a 3-1 victory over Cardiff City yesterday afternoon and the club are looking to finalise a deal on Wednesday.
