Scunthorpe United’s interim boss Tony Daws has revealed that midfield duo Liam Feeney and Jordan Hallam have suffered setbacks in their respective recoveries from hamstring injuries.
Liam Feeney, who has been missing since the 3-2 win over Dorking Wanderers in September, will require an operation on a hamstring tear.
Daws told BBC Radio Humberside: “Feens’ tear in his hamstring has been identified and he is going to need an operation to rectify that, so unfortunately he is going to be out for quite a period of time”.
Jordan Hallam’s latest spell on the sidelines is also set for an extension, with the 24 year old reporting a sore hamstring as he stepped up his return to training.
“Jordan had a little bit of a set back. He was doing running and he just had a little bit of soreness in the muscle. It’s sort of knocked him back a week or so”, Daws revealed.
It is another blow for Hallam, who has made just eight starts in four years since signing from Sheffield United in January 2019.
Elsewhere Reagan Ogle is set to miss the visit of high flying Wrexham on Wednesday with a back injury.
“He’s not great, he’s got a damaged back and he’s injured so he’s not been able to train. Obviously that’s a blow for us. He could be out for any period of time really – it should be shorter rather than long term, but it still remains to be clarified”, Daws added.
