Vincent for me has been poor, he’s tidy enough but doesn’t really do any thing of note..Spence is pretty good but I’d give Beestin a go in there.
Rowe at RB and stick Onariase in at CB in place of Bedeau. Colclough can’t be arsed, he needs moving on.
Cox is irritating the shite out of me.
STOP PLAYING THESE WEIRD FORMATIONS WITH PLAYERS PLAYING OUT OF POSITION.
Why does he not just opt to play 4/4/2 and play them where they are supposed to be played ?
I hope now Onariase is fit he doesn’t go 3 at the back again on Saturday. No more of that bullshit.
Swann an co need hanging for signing Clarke on for another yr and making him captain. Cox said he felt his thigh in training so now he’s been pulled out again.
Come January he needs binning off and we need to sign an able bodied RB. Fingers crossed Rowe stays fit.
Least now with Rowe back fit we’ll have a proper RB.
That performance was awful from what I’ve been told, somebody on twitter paid £10 to watch it and turned it off with about 35 minutes to go lol
Wingers playing in CM again, when will Cox learn. If he doesn’t watch it he’ll end up pissing a lot of the players off.
I really don’t understand what he’s trying to achieve.
Why does Cox need 10 games to play players where they should be playing and for us to play positively ?. Cox has the players here but he’s gone down the safety first road.
I’m just disappointed because we’re getting something entirely different to what he promised.
Not playing Eisa because he’s not as good defensively as Hippolyte when playing against Carlisle at home….come on, I expect more positivity than that.
I will gladly wait though and see where we are after 10 games. Playing Rowe at RB should make a big difference.
Not really sure what Vincent is adding in CM. Spence is pretty good but he needs somebody alongside him who offers a bit more.
May as well give Beestin or Hornshaw a go there and see how they get on.
I think we’ve got a real problem with expectations as a supporter base
No expects us to romp the league. What is annoying a lot of people is we’re not getting what we were promised. All I wanted was for us to have a go and at least try and play in a positive manner.
Not playing Eisa because he’s too positive is an absolute disgrace.
Play the best players in their positions and let them do their thing. All I want is passion, work rate and for our best players to be playing where they should be.
I don’t expect 3 nil wins every week.
I don’t think expecting that is too much to ask.
Ferrite is becoming the new club guard dog…it appears he’s taken over from the other wally. Any, and I mean any posts of criticism towards the style of play e.t.c “even if coupled with a valid reason” will be immediately shot down and you’ll be moaned at for moaning.
Ironic I know but they you go.
I personally think having a manager coming through the door who told every man and his dog about “this will be a new era, we’ll attack from the off and get excitement back in the club/town” to then be met with mind numbing safety first style of play, dodgy formation and your best attacking player not playing because he’s too attack minded is a bit of a kick in the nuts.
I don’t know what’s going on with Eisa. Why anybody would leave their best attacking player out because he’s too positive is beyond me ?
If Cox hasn’t banged his head, resulting in an undiagnosed mental condition then I’m struggling to understand what he’s doing.
Must be the fumes from the steel works, we’ve had countless managers who either talk a good game, or, go down this weird defensive path and slowly mentally disintegrate before our very eyes.
I like Cox but usually this kind of madness he’s starting to display usually ends up rearing it’s ugly head further down the line.
Cox might buck the trend, instead of descending into madness…he may start off a bit crazy and then do a complete u turn and be true to his word and fulfil his supposed attacking football philosophy.
You never know !
3 games and you’re already an expert on what he’s doing wrong?
Ferrite, you don’t need to be an expert with an outstanding back catalogue of football knowledge to realise that Cox is pissing around playing players where they simply shouldn’t be played.
Before you start taking pot shots at me, you should be questioning Cox. By all means it will take him time to realise his best 11 and to stamp his own mark on the team, but, to play your best players out of position hell bent on shoehorning them into a system everybody else bar Cox and Lillis realises doesn’t work, it annoys me…as it has to plenty of other fans.
Listen to the podcast, they tended to agree.
They were a lot more steadfast with their comments than I was. Are you going to throw sarcastic comments their way and ridicule them ?. I highly doubt it, you haven’t got the guts
Listen to that podcast..ridicule the comments made on there, get back to me and we’ll call it quits.
You can’t ridicule somebody on here and then let the same opinions slide.
You should ring him up and tell him WG, he will obviously listen to you!!!
You may like playing with no width and players playing out of position in a daft formation but not many people are too keen.
No excuse now anyway, Clarke’s back, McAtee’s back and Onariase is back so least he has a proper RB now and a decent striking option to call upon now.
It’s the playing players all out of position which is getting me, that shouldn’t have to be learned, he’s been around football a long time, he should instinctively know that.
That’s my one big annoyance…it’s not needed. Playing Hornshaw at RB, I get it as we have no other real viable options but to do what he’s been doing is stupid and hurts us as a result.
As I said above, he should know this already. That shouldn’t be something he should have to learn.
I thought considering Turan was starting his first game in English football, he did ok…and you have to factor in he was playing alongside Loft who was playing like he had blinkers and lead boots on.
I’d be fairly happy sticking Turan upfront with McAtee next weekend but Cox has a thing for Loft going by what he’s said about him previously. I personally don’t think Turan and Loft will ever work as a partnership.
Good news is though Clarke is ready for a start according to cox…Olomola is back training next week and Onariase is back training as well.
Rowe is crocked though and McGahey came off Injured. I’d be tempted to give Clarke, Onariase a game next week and start them both next match. Bedeau looks to have something but when watching him you feel he’s never far away from dropping a clanger.
O’Malley needs to start at LB too. Is 3 or 4 weeks when Olomola has got a bit of fitness we’ll have some decent options, can hardly be a bad thing.
On that loft performance today, was as bad as Tomi Ameobi….absolutely shocking. How hes stayed on for as long as he did when Green was on the bench is disgraceful really.
Hornshaw 5 not the best full back, better going forwards
Mick…How can you possibly give Hornshaw and Turan both a 5 ?. I’d give Hornshaw a 3, he was absolutely dreadful. I do however feel a bit sorry for him, you can tell he’s never going to be a FB.
What about sticking Hornshaw in CM in place of Spence ?.
Spence and Vincent are sort of tidy enough but don’t effect the game enough for me…both him and Spence just like to sit there and keep it ticking over, neither effect the play enough.
The pair of them are similar. If we opt to keep playing Vincent, what about getting Beestin up to speed and give him a go alongside him, least he’d get forward a bit more.
Whichever way you’d like to put it, it’s certainly confusing. 4/4/2 next match and stick McAtee up with Turan and see how they get on.
As long as we don’t end up with a dodgy diamond formation with no width and wingers with McAtee playing in the hole !
I can’t be doing with anymore of that carry on.
I thought Turan looked pretty promising as well. I’m shocked people are giving him a 2 and Loft a 5. Loft looked like things we’re not going for him and just mentally wasn’t at the races….he was shocking to say the least.
SST, what did you think of that formation ?
Also the fact Green was left on the bench and Hallam was brought on to partner Turan ?
Actually, how the hell did Loft even get as long as he did ?
I was wondering whether somebody behind the scenes is directing managers to play like this, all these supposed 4/4/2 men end up fielding these fucked up formations.
As I said, I get he’s get a hard job but it’s just baffling what formation is being put out. I honestly do not know for the life of me what the hell is going on.
This is has happened with too many now to simply call this a coincidence.
Cox said Clarke is back next week and will be in contention for a start. If he fields that fucked up mess again when we have a proper RB to field, somebody is surely fecking around behind the scenes.
Olomola is back training next week too so will only be 2 or 3 weeks away.
Even that shite today I was impressed with Turan. Only one game but he looks to have something, looks a decent enough player.
I really do hope next match he goes 4/4/2 with a flat back 4, 2 wingers and strikers. No more of this next match please !
It would appear that some clubs still value experience.
Butler looked shot to pieces when he was here though !
Ha !. Seriously though, Cox will surely have to play McAtee…only problem is if he doesn’t choose to play him upfront, which doesn’t appear to be the case, he’ll have to play that daft diamond formation to accommodate him.
Going by what Cox has said, he really rates Turan from what he’s seen in training…if he fancies him upfront instead of McAtee he must have shown him something.
Only other option would be to play him alongside Spence in CM and see how he get’s on. I can’t for the life of me see it working though.
Is McAtee too good to bench warm at this level ?
Again, do any of you know how Jai Rowe is doing with the injury he picked up ?
I don’t know what went off there. Anyway, in regards to this dodgy formation Cox is playing….why didn’t he just go 4/4/2 and give Mooney a go up there ?
As Mick stated, it was very interesting that Cox mentioned that he wants Turan and Loft up front and McAtee didn’t get a mention. Cox also when asked about McAttee a while ago in regards to attacking options he said that he CAN player there, meaning that he’s better elsewhere but can do a job there.
What I’m dreading is, is that Cox may opt for a 4/3/1/2 or a 4/1/2/1/2 to accommodate McAtee as an attacking midfielder.
Cox only said he wanted Turan and loft upfront and to play attacking football, he never mentioned 4/4/2 specifically.
I hope he doesn’t go down that route and sticks to his word because if he doesn’t my heart will sink. I can’t cope with another manager putting us trough that shite again.
We’ve seen it already, as soon as you go down that route you may as well kiss goodbye to your wingers and width,…it throws everything off kilter.
Anybody know how Jai Rowe is doing ?.
Hornshaw is trying his best but he’s no RB and never will be. I know Clarke is back in training but you can’t rely on him getting back and lasting the season.
As Mick stated, Cox said he wants Turan and Loft upfront so we may get 4/4/2 next week.
I can kind of understand C
I’ve always had a soft spot for Barwick. Definitely not a Cod Fan.
I would say easily the worst midfielder we’ve had in my lifetime.
I know, which is why I’ve always favoured a picture of him…he’s the midfield equivalent of Tomi Ameobi.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Barwick. Definitely not a Cod Fan.
Ironironiron, I would just like to know where certain players are and what they’re doing. When you sign a new player and he’s not featured, that’s up to the club to tell the fans what’s going on…is it not ?
Is it too much to expect a club to communicate with it’s fans ?
You may not care because you have Grimsby Town to fall back on as your 2nd team but I don’t have that luxury.
I’d rather not go down that sordid road.
Barton, you’re looking too much into this probably. I did however question why Cox didn’t stick Mooney on and go with 2 upfront when we couldn’t get out from our half.
I thought that was a little suspect but he probably wanted to try that formation and wanted people to be run into the ground to get minutes into them.
Dales went off with a dead leg as a precaution but gree got Poleaxed, I hope he’s ok and nothing serious happened with him.
I thought he looked good. I wouldn’t have minded him upfront with Loft on saturday but doubt he’ll be fit now.
Yes, he came on 2nd half.
Onaraise is back jogging/running already. I saw him in a training pic earlier in the week. I think he’s back when Clarke’s due back, about a week from the Lincoln game.
Cox said Hippolyte will play some part “who knows how big” against Lincoln, as Mick said, it’s a case of getting him up to speed. McGahey is supposed to be back as well against Lincoln with Clarke a week later.
Beestin could be the one was tested positive who McAtee was in the car with, who knows ?
May even could have been Turan but it’s all a bit of a mystery, not sure anybody knows what’s going on.
I did think it could have been lack of international clearance why Turan didn’t feature….somebody at the club needs to come out and clear this stuff up because everybody at the minute are guessing.
I hope Clarke makes his way back pretty sharpish. Would it be worth signing a short team loan player to cover the gap ?
While I stated that I hope Clarke makes his way back sharpish, you also on the other hand rush him back at your peril.
Hornshaw will have to keep plodding on at RB then for the time being. I’d stick O’Malley in at LB though to see how he get’s on.
Who would you go for upfront SST, presuming Loft is rested ?
One thing is for certain, Colclough can’t ever find himself there again. I don’t think Cox would have been too happy with him, he was sulking until he was moved out wide.
I’d like Green and maybe Mooney/Turan to get a shot against Lincoln. Dales will probably get a run out as well.
Any of you know if we have received international clearance yet to play Turan ?
Rubbishiron, that study was done by HRSA…The Health Resources and Services Administration for those who don’t know. They’re an agency of the U.S. Department of Health, not some mickey mouse organisation that have plucked that compensation money from thin air.
I’ll ask again…
By the way that compensation amount didn’t include any legal fee’s, if you read online from many official sources that 4.1 billion jumps to anywhere between 6-7 billion when taking that into consideration.
Do you think them handing out 4.1 billion dollars in compensation money due to complications some people have suffered give people a reasonable reason to question vaccines ?
No more bluff and bluster, simple yes or no ?
watson 6.0
Butroid 5
Bedeau 6
Cordner 7.5
Hornshaw 6Eisa 7.5
Spence 6.0
Vincent 8
Gillead 6.5Loft 7.5
Colclough when upfront a 4 but while out wide 7Subs never made any impact really.
Colclough was pretty much a passenger when playing upfront and went in a mardy before being switched to the wing. Bedeau looked a bit iffy at times, I suspect he’ll make way for McGahey once he’s fit. Cordner keeps that level up and I can’t see him being dislodged that easily.
I’d stick Rowe at RB and O’Malley LB against Lincoln to see how they get one.
Loft looked really good today, really impressed with him but needs an out and out striker up there with him to feed off the scraps. I’d give green a go upfront against Lincoln with Jarvis, duran-Turan or young Mooney alongside him and save loft for the league.
I actually think the best striker in playing style for loft would be Olomola…he’d probably work fine with him, shame he’s out for the next few months.
We need to see what the other strikers offer, against lincoln would be an ideal time to have a look. Eisa needs to be out wide.
Question is though, who get’s dropped ?. Will Gillead make way for Colclough or will Colclough be the one that’s benched ?
Gillead I suppose could play CM but we saw him for spells last season in there and he was too light weight.
Bloodyrubbish, not attempting to “teach” anybody anything, it’s called a difference of a opinion. Instead of getting your panties in a twist, just accept it for what it is.
People may think I’m completely crazy and that’s fine, I wasn’t expecting anybody to agree.
It’s this ridiculous mindset which stops people coming out and saying what they feel/think. This is why everybody nowadays feeling like they’re constantly treading on egg shells.
However ridiculous you deem an opinion, it is only that, an opinion. Freedom of speech and all that jazz.
By the way, before you start shooting down people with a difference of opinion by branding them conspiracy theorists.
National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program which was set up in 10/01/1988..from that date to 5/01/2019 “couldn’t find a more recent study” they have shelled out $4.1 billion. So, before you start berating people who campaign about the potential dangers…look into it. I personally think they have decent ground to do so.
If you want it down in writing, I’ll even copy and paste the study by the HRSA.
As the quote goes….
“Opinions are like assholes, everybody’s got one and everyone thinks everyone else’s stinks.”
Holloway by all accounts said he failed to make the grade and had his trial terminated, whether he’s saying that trying to save face because he chose us over them is anybody’s guess.
Stampy, those fabric face coverings are dog mess.
Yes, that was one of my trademark flippant comments.
Basically What I mean is that the virus won’t go away or even become less virulent just because you want to go to the football. So you’ll need to wait for the green light from the club.
No amount of “get back out there!” or “let’s be ‘aving you!” Can change that.
That goes without saying, if you obviously turn up with no permission, they aren’t going to let you in are they ?
I wasn’t implying breaking down the doors at GP and bunkering down in the ground !
