The only way for Swann to really fix this is to pay off Turan, Loft and Mooney out of his own pocket and stick Hippolyte on a free transfer.

Jarvis I’d stick out on loan somewhere. Vincent and Cordner need their loans ending, whether Swann will have to pay some severance pay to send them back I’m not sure but he really needs to find the money to pay most of them up and have them released, he signed the crap and cluttered up the squad so he should pay to move them on.

While he’s at it he wants to be paying Clarke up as well and move him on. Only problem is, who’s at the club now who will have any clue about play recruitment ?

Swann’s masterplan included sacking off the scouting team. If I was him personally I’d stream line the coaching staff “who we have many of” pay a few off and get a main and an assistant scout in.

    That definitely needs reversing pronto…

I thought that Razor, I wonder if this is done if we go down. This way with Swann writing off his loans to the club, financially he’s unattached so he can run off into the sunset.

This seems a bit suspect as it’s a distinct possibility we may end up being relegated.

No mention of a club scout being signed to allow an actual football man identify the players we need.

If he’s still going to poke his nose in and have this daft committee, whoever is alongside him, then it doesn’t matter what he says. The root cause will still be eating away at the club.

    Gillead Greene McAtee Spence

McAtee as a CM will be a liability..either play him in the no 10 role or not at all.

    I’d go

    Howard

    Butroid Onaraise Bedeau Rowe
    Gillead Beestin Taylor Green
    Kvv Olomola

When either of the strikers are cream crackered bring Hallam/McAtee on and stick either of them behind Jarvis or Loft.

I do have a feeling however that Cox will bottle it and stick 1 upfront and play Hallam or McAtee in behind.

Oldham are poor themselves so personally I’d go with Olomola and Kev, should give them plenty of problems.

    What’s happened to McGahey…he’s been fit a while now hasn’t he ?

Hardly ideal playing any player who isn’t match fit but a half fit McGahey is still better than a fully fit Bedeau.

On the other hand i thought Matt Dean was pathetic

Anybody in the right mind wouldn’t have disagreed with what Rob said. Matt Dean making pathetic excuses for Swann made me laugh.

I understand he works for Humberside who also interviews Swann but he really need to find a backbone. I wasn’t expecting him to rip into Swann but those excuses were terrible.

That’s not adding balance to the argument, that’s just lacking courage on his part.

WG makes good points even if his ‘100%’ does seem a tad OTT

Ok, factoring in covid and the injuries to Van Veen and McGahey….I’ll settle for 80% at fault, either way, he’s the real reason why this club is the way it is.

Chairmen should deal with financial side of things and leave the football side of things to football people.

To be brutally honest, this is 100% Swann’s fault. I struggle to comprehend how he can’t see it.

To say Covid isn’t exactly helpful is a huge understatement but it wasn’t covid who sacked the scouting team and decided to sign a rag tag squad of kids and then to further take the piss… appointed a perma crock as captain.

Swann’s in denial…it’s him deciding to play real life football manager with the club that’s the big reason for our club being on the way crumbling away.

Oh, then he decides to appoint a 1st time manager who’s then supposed to get a tune out of an already chosen squad of players, with 80% of the signed players not even fit for purpose.

I wonder this why Wilcox turned down the job when he knew the direction Swann wanted to take ?

Hurst kicked off when he felt the goal posts were moved…he more than likely discovered this crazy route Swann wanted to take, kicked off and then was sacked.

To have a chairman who picks the direction to go down with recruitment is one thing but to then have him go out, sign the players and pre appoint a perma crock captain is another thing entirely.

    It’s absolute madness.

Swann’s legendary meddling again is well and truly rearing it’s ugly head.

Somebody needs to have some balls and come out and say this to him because it’s needed, he really needs to wake up and get in the real world.

    Never heard anybody so deluded.

I can’t remember that message even being worded like this, did he alter the message because I can’t recall it saying that.

If not, I fear I may have lost my mind.

Could I get a job working alongside the transfer committee down at GP, I’d probably fit in !

The curse of the transfer committee I’m afraid…we’ve been down this road before. Clueless people choosing to sign players when they had no idea what we actually needed.

Going by what has been suggested. I can’t see it being too far away.

Seriously though, what did Swann expect ?.

Swann and the other people who make up the terrible transfer committee, managed to assemble a the most shoddy squad pf playersin a hell of a long time, pre appoints a captain who we all know is a perma crock and then signs an inexperienced manager to somehow turn a team full of kids and non league misfits to something even close to resembling a football side.

The mind boggles. Swann has really pushed the boat at this time. This is why people who know nothing about football shouldn’t involve themselves in signing players. Now we have a ridiculously poor, extremely large squad when funds were already been stretched with no fans through the doors.

If we manage to somehow get ourselves out of this mess, we’ll have to be lucky to say the least.

This is why chairman should sign off on players and not try their hand at anything else. This is what happens.

How many times has Swann been questioned over this transfer committee….he clearly can’t help himself.

Roaming bull, you must not remember Tomi Ameobo, Andy Parton or Matt Bailey we had on loan….saying that though Turan isn’t very good. I thought he looked like he had something to offer but today clearly showed he’s rubbish.

I think we was at Weston Super Mare before he came here and hardly tore up any trees there.

Jarvis is good until he get’s to finishing chances. Mooney wasn’t deemed good enough from day one. Loft is a complete and utter donkey, which leaves Olomola and Big Kev as are best two strikers.

    What a mess !

We limped over the line, it was the most underwhelming promotion of all time and carried no momentum over… it was that bad.

Not quite sure what that has to do with the transfer committee making an absolute pigs ear of the recruitment yet again though.

And non more than you WG you can’t even except facts,so doubt if you have any common sense.

Except what facts ?. You mean the stupid transfer committee yet again putting their foot in it, signing a stupidly unbalanced, inexperienced squad ?

It’s the sheer stupidity by those at the top which means me now have to rabble around in the free transfer bin because who ever it was who signed the players did an absolutely terrible job of it.

When I mean terrible, I mean TERRIBLE.

Don’t come at me with rubbish like that, you should aim that towards Swannster.

I do question the mental health of some people on this forum, who in my opinion lack any kind of commonsense.

Beestin has played one game, albeit a very good one. Taylor’s best performance was alongside Beestin, that was the best game he’s had.

Very early on to be saying we don’t need another CM which I find absolutely ridiculous. Other than those two, who are both unknown quantities, who is there to step in if either of those two either get found out or become injured ?

Vincent’s out until January time. Spence is a defensive midfielder and then we have Hornshaw, who again is a defensive midfielder, and another unknown quantity…who’s been doing a terrible job at RB. Which is no real fault of his own.

How can we not need another CM ?. I’m bemused at the people who say we don’t need one. Throw into the mix we have Eisa who’s picked up a bad injury, which means we have Hippolyte who’s been shocking since he’s got here and Dales who’s clearly not rated.

A few would even say we need a striker as well in all fairness. Jarvis seemingly would struggle to finish his dinner. Loft’s a donkey. Turan is another unknown quantity. Olomola still isn’t deemed fit enough and McAtee has been substandard so far. Big Kevs won’t be fit enough till next month.

We definitely need a players in. Before people keep saying “o, well we have so many players on the books” you’re right we do. The squads so unbalanced and we’re still in dire need of experience which is the fault of one man and one man only.

I keep saying this, stemming back a few season…until Swann stops fecking about signing players when he has no clue what and who we need, this will keep happening.

Put it this way, Swann better move himself and a get a few players because if he doesn’t he’d have let down Cox. Swann was the one who said we were looking to get a few more in.

this situation regarding our club and covid is beyond ridiculous.

I agree but without us having to face this situation, Beestin, Green and Rowe would never have got a chance,we certainly wouldn’t have found out that Taylor and Beestin are our best CM’s.

There was an injury under Laws for Torpey which means we tried Keogh and Sharp together and the rest was history.

I do however hope they make a speedy recovery. I’m sure they will, they’re all physically fit..it’s just the time we have to cope without them now.

Heath, bit unfair regarding Turan he had one full game upfront with Donkey Loft and not really had a sniff since…oh, and he wasn’t even really match fit.

I’d go Olomola or Turan with Kev playing a bit deeper once their fit. Jarvis isn’t a bad player by any means but needs to sort his finishing out.

I still find it difficult to comprehend you giving Rowe and Taylor a 4. Rowe isn’t a CB by trade and still played really well.

If that’s anything to go by..I’d want him ahead of a fit Clarke to be honest. I thought he looked very promising.

Beestin as well is what we’ve been crying out for. Begs the question, why the hell wasn’t he playing ?

Green ran riot at times as well…final decision a bit off at times but that will come with game time.

I know he’s seen more of a winger but what about trying him upfront ?

Rowe and Taylor both 4 ?. Beestin I would have given a 9 alongside Onariase.

If you’re not on a wind up mission, you need urgent medical attention.

Rowe has to start every week for me going by today’s performance. Beestin was outstanding, which begs the question why the hell he wasn’t playing ?. Beestin and Taylor worked together really well.

Green was dangerous going forward, if at times a bit erratic. Jarvis was really good, until it came to converting chances.

    Onaraise is rock solid.

Nat a bad side once the covid sufferers are back.

    Howard

    Brown Onaraise Mcgahey Rowe
    Eisa Beestin Taylor Gillead
    Olomola/McAtee Turan

I wouldn’t play Jarvis anymore personally, he’s tireless but not got that quality when needed. Rowe, Beestin and Green who came in from the cold all did really well though.

Beestin going by that has to start…going by that it’s criminal he was been overlooked. Rowe is another one, why he’s not been playing before now is ridiculous.

Upfront is a bit of an issue but I’d stick Turan up there now and give him a go. Jarvis does everything right up until it’s time to stick chances away and he fluffs his lines.

Jarvis would be a good striker if he sorted that side of his game out but as a striker that’s the crucial part and we can ill afford to keep waiting to see if he does become more clinical because it’s costing us goals/points.

Really pleased with today though, even with the loss. Million miles better. Rowe, Beestin and Green showed well enough to prove they’re good enough.

Going by that, once Brown starts next week and have Rowe at RB..we’ll actually have fully functioning, solid fullbacks.

I can’t quite believe how good Beestin and Taylor were in the middle. Only one game but going by that Beestin is worth a long contract. I think he’s only here until end of season and you would have thought he wouldn’t be on a lot of money either.

That line up lol. That makes sense with people out with covd, I was going to say if it wasn’t for that reason I would have thought somebody at the club would be currently experiencing a mental breakdown.

Cox already said the experienced players will not get any minutes via Exeter as they have to make sure they won’t break down.

Poor Rowe has been fit for a while now….been in full training and played 90 minutes of a reserve game and he’s still not playing so not sure what’s going on down at GP at the minute.

All seems a little strange. Butroid’s another who’s been fit and been completely frozen out.

Rowe hasn’t even had a game yet and yet somebody has already decided he’s not good enough. If I was him I’d be extremely worried. If you’re not deemed good enough to play in your natural position and are snubbed for a CM who’s been absolute dog mess in playing there, not sure you have much chance.

Awfully unfair for somebody down at GP to deem Rowe not good enough when he’s not even had a chance.

I just thought it made more sense to cut the loan, recoup some wages and get 2 out of contract one’s in. I felt a bit sorry for him, he was in a pretty woeful team but on the other hand he never really played well at any point anyway.

The game he did have a good half in, Cox moved him further forward and that was that.
