I’d advise Grimsby fans to view their new owners as I view every football club owner. If they tell you it’s Thursday, check your calendar, presuming they haven’t nicked it!

Last time we finished in this position, next season promotion.
    Can always dream.

Could well happen, this time last year…

The nation did not demand Liverpool had to win the F.A. Cup. I, for one, didn’t want them to win it.

Everton fans will be gutted, after all Liverpool fans only robbed the best ever Everton side from playing in the European cup. Then after Hillsborough had to let Liverpool win the fa cup final the nation demanded it. Did you know Liverpool considered not playing on in the cup after the tragedy just like they considered not playing on after Heysel even though the dead were still in the ground. (Not).

    Oaf.

Deadly silence from the likes of Rashford or Sterling, maybe about time Harry Kane let’s us know how what the current squad opinions are.

Ian Holloway, aka Coco the Clown, hasn’t been silent, he reckons a ESL is a betrayal to the memory of Prince Philip!

Clubs haven’t needed to produce a match day programme for the last three years. In other news Mr Macmillan will spend this weekend at Chequers. 😜

Wasn’t White City out west where the BBC TV Centre was?

Near enough opposite. QPR have had more moves, and more home grounds, than any other club.

What does any of this mean?

Eff all, ‘big’ clubs in the same league start the season on zero points just like everyone else.

The difference is Derby and Ipswich could sustain a decent Championship team with 20k plus gates or even a tier 3 Premiership side with 30k plus turning up. We would get 5k in the Championship and 7k in the Premiership. Even those gates would need to sell out the away end to achieve.

Anyone with funds wanting to own a genuine lower league side I am sure could probably pick one up for free just now. I suspect you know who is bored playing football manager and is hanging on until he has sold his block of flats with football pitch attached. (Football pitch optional)

    Hull can’t sell – they don’t have a ground.

Pay attention at the back, Ipswich Town don’t own their stadium, then again neither do the likes of Manchester City, Newcastle United and others. Rumour has it a consortium is interested in buying Hull City, although I heard that one eighty four months ago!

    The state of our Chairman…
Can’t play two up top because of COVID
Having a go at the old boy season ticket holder
    Covid only affects Scunny
The guy just makes it up as he goes along
Not forgetting the standard veiled threat about ‘I could’ve walked away’

Do us all a favour and carry it out.

Swann might like to try putting SUFC up for sale, he may be surprised at the interest he’d get. Derby County and Ipswich Town have new owners this week, and Ipswich don’t even own their stadium. Of course, he could have good reasons to stay put… 🏠🏡🏠 💷

I never have David Burns on my ifollow feed, I think there’s an icon on the bottom right of the screen which allows you to listen to home or away commentary. Our home commentator is joined by an ex-player, and he does it alone when commentating on an away match.

I’m sure his pay-off will soften the blow, and the fact his sort always turn up elsewhere, a la David Beeby.

Clubs will just find a way around it*, and I see no reason why clubs like Sunderland or Charlton, with large fan bases, should be forced to pay relative peanuts (in football terms) and be limited in the transfer market.

FFP has worked well with Messi’s half a billion quid contract, or not.

“Sadly, there are still blinkered folk out there who both see Swann as our saviour, AND persist in believing that no-one else would, or could, ever buy the club.”

You’ve forgotten the ‘be careful what you wish for’ claptrap.

Go on, check back who was the first…and then come on and apologise…oh…sorry, you lefties don’t do apologies cos you think you’re never wrong.
    Grow up Deerey.
You can admit YOU WERE WRONG sometimes.
And yes, it does mean ALCAZAR WAS RIGHT.

That sounds very much like the army surplus store owner in the Michael Douglas film Falling Down, “think about it, yeah?”

We would become like Hull, but instead of paying rent to the council like they do we would be in a worse position paying rent to Coolsilk.

Hull City Council have very little to do with the stadium, and get the square root of eff all from it. The football and rugby tenants pay rent to the Stadium Management Company which is wholly owned by the Allam’s, who in turn set the rent, so are able to ‘shuffle papers’ as to the debt owed to them. ‘Bent’ is the abridged version.

Careful Mick, that sounds like nepotism!

Look on the bright side, ‘he’ misunderstands the definition of nepotism, let’s hope ‘he’ never finds ‘necrophilia’ in the dictionary! ⚰️😜

The first time I went to Port Vale was in the early 1980’s on coach. We travelled back without a couple of its side windows, then it started snowing. Happy days! 😜
