The government won’t let them negotiate a pay rise, the same government that should be running them, much like happened on the East Coast route.

Didn’t those said billionaires (the government with taxpayer’s money)keep them in full employment during the 2 years of covid? No furlough for them and the huge pay cut that would have ensued, no let’s wait and abuse our powers and f it up for all them who were on furlough, as much as I am a trade unionist new trade union laws are needed to curb their powers or bring them in line with key workers who aren’t allowed to strike.

No mention of the hundreds of millions of pounds profit made by the train companies in lockdown, and definition of ‘key worker’ isn’t the same as it was two and a half tears ago.
AWG, the bosses dream shop steward,’tell your members despite our huge profits they can have a real terms pay cut, trash their terms and conditions, and compulsory redundancies’. ‘Cheers boss’. 🖕

When malcolm healey was mentioned some time ago it came out that he was a hull city fan so read into that what u want. Not sure hed want to buy scunny myself on that basis

Rumour has long had it that he has very little appetite for all the negatives that go with football club ownership. 🙂

Didn’t have you down as a Sunderland fan TW!

Oddly I’m not, always a good day out there though, and we usually have pre and post match refreshments in the Royal Navy Club. 🙂

Six month contract came to an end. His last week was spent in Turkey and Malaga, nice work if you can get it, but I have little doubt he’ll wash up at another football club shortly. He might even crack a smile when he does! 🙄

F it, won’t be going to Farsley Celtic train drivers now on strike. sorry no sympathy from me the wages there are on, £45-50 grand a year, there’s no way I would be leading my members down that road. EFL start day as well that day, sure it will f up a lot of cods going to Orient.

Better standard of shop stewards in the RMT than other unions? 🙂

“The thing is that Harvey’s gets better the closer you get to it’s brewery in Lewes. Also it has to be looked after properly.”

I agree, and the proximity to the Ouse helps, just be careful the Environment Agency don’t catch you pouring it in there. 😁🍺

I always associate Allegro’s with Austin (yes I know it was still BL) and Marina’s with Morris. Both sounded good. Both quickly turned in to rusting heaps of crap!

Rumour has it that awaywego has a Y reg Austin Ambassador. 🙂

    Found him.

‘Was promised to reopen several months ago, guess it’s a Scunny thing.’

Promise or intention? Seem to recall it was the latter. And how would Swanny have any influence (as you said in a previous post) on whether the non-footy side reopened again or not?

We were told the date it was opening up again was February 7th, hey ho. 🙂

“Up the Swanny 2” was that refering to this site, updated it but still no non football. Won’t Swanny allow it?.

If you click on ‘forums’ at the top then there is a non-football option.
Did you just want something else to moan about?

Go on then I’ll have a nibble (or not) I’m sat in Asda while Mrs Two shops and quite fancied a full English breakfast for a change, have had one in months. How the effing he’ll have they ran out of sausages?! 🤬

    Not much of a footballer’s car, JD 1 is on a Peugeot 3008. 🙂

    Con?
My support is unconditional, if the choice is lose £2-300 quid or lose SUFC I know which option I’d take every day of the week.

I’ve just gone through years of doing the same waiting for a new owner, I’m too stubborn to let any owner deprive me off my football days, and I applaud you sticking with your team. That said, I recognise a bull*hitter when I hear one and Peter Swann is certainly …

Spot on Pele. It’s things like that i am on about, remember last world cup and the 2 women commentators couldn’t understand why an ex England player wasn’t exited like they were about the 3rd 4th place playoff game. Right about the cricket NI.

Mrs Two doesn’t like women commentating on football, she says their voices are too shrill, I agree. 🙂

You’re not near the game anywhere at the LS.

As it was built for athletics the seating is set at a much lower gradient than most modern football stadiums (SJP eg)

    Take your binoculars CC!

I found the stadium to be better than many make out, as an aside West Ham fans voted the woodwork as their man of the match, from memory we managed to hit it five times!

Hull City was put up for sale in 2014 and sold in 2022.

    [/quote]

Hull City was sold when the Allams were in danger of having to fund it, in that period they trousered a non-returnable six million quid deposit from a buyer that didn’t complete, well over twenty million in interest payments to themselves, and many millions in group tax relief.
Abridged version, Hull City was genuinely up for sale when it suited the paper shufflers.

…could be that people are nervous around that, as Oldham fans are.

    I feel for Oldham fans.
Prem to National League in 27 years.
Founder members of the Premier League too.
The very best of luck to them!

I’ve only ever been to one Premier League game and that was Oldham v Everton, I was going to watch us at Chester but got held up at Haltwhistle for 90 minutes because of roadworks and traffic lights not in sync, Neil Pointon played for Oldham and Peter Beagrie played for Everton that day.

Slightly off piste but the last two Premier League games me and Awaywego went to together we saw the first ever Premier League goal and Man Utd beat Ipswich 9-0, absolutely no bonus points for names of scorers in either.

“I didn’t slag it off, I said the standard must be pretty low for us to get an award and I will standby that comment based on my own experience.”

Given that Hull City won this award when the Allams were in charge, the same Allams that scrapped child, OAP and disabled concessions, it’s a very low standard.

The feeling I’m left with is that the club’s been a play-thing for him and his sons and that Mrs Wharton’s*** stepped in and said “enough”. Of course I have no evidence for that but it’s my recollection she sold her Wilko shares for a great deal of money, some of which probably ended up with the club and I know how my wife would have reacted in a similar situation. Evening meals would have been interesting…

*** Hopefully at meal times you get your wife’s name correct! 🤭

There you go TW is it because you like steelworks and envy ours.

I can’t stand Blackpool, every time I’ve visited it’s rained, the only time it didn’t I was arrested*! No further action though, and despite the rumours my only brush with plod. 😁

Reasonably happy with any of the 3 left standing, Fylde would give another potential weekend away in Blackpool. From my perspective I’m really looking forward to the new season.

I’d rather have a weekend in Mariupol than Blackpool!
