Indeed it is ! Without doubt better numeracy than Mr Hilton.
5277 attendees for Tamworth of which 249 were from Tamworth.
3285 for today against Rushall of which 27 were from Rushall.
I make that 1716 who didn’t turn up today. You really need to stop making things up CMC.1 user thanked author for this post.
He was in hospital on 3 October and signed off for 6 weeks.
In that period we beat Brackley 1-0, lost 2-0 to Chester, beat Spennymoor 6-0, beat Bishops stortford 6-1, drew 1-1 with Boston, won 2-0 at Banbury and beat Gloucester 2-0In actual fact, he missed the Brackley game and was back for all the other games you mentioned.
I watched the Boston v Tamworth game last week which was 0-0, if either team had scored they would win, but neither of them did. Utter dross like most of the games in this league.
Last nights game for us it was like watching the same game as that Boston match, except Whitehall panicked, smashed the ball out for a corner and we conceded from a Sunday league level goalmouth scramble, this is the level of football we are at.
Formations, players, Beestin, Wilson, Clunan, or Pugh, Shrimpton or DSF it doesn’t matter we’d see the same game, get the same poor officials.
Until we’re on a financially solid footing everything else is just like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Who would we replace Dean with and who would pay for it, bearing in mind we are still digging ourselves out of a very deep hole ?4 users thanked author for this post.
We’ve got the same players tomorrow as when we beat them at their place.
IRON: Fitzsimons, Ogle, Kouogun, Evans, Clunan, Beestin, Elliott (Whitehall, 57’), Wilson (Shrimpton, 72’), Scales, Law (Butterfield, 57’), Denton.
IRON SUBS: Kelly, Boyce.
They had Jellis for that game.

There isn’t.
If the club is making a loss overall, which it surely is, then will they have to pay any tax ?
Maybe next season when the playing budget is at a more sensible level we will attract players like him. We’ll be fishing in a different pond to the one Hilton dangled his fantasy fishing rod into.
We just keep finding out more and more about the disaster that was Hilton.
And people still come out with stuff about how they’ve had enough of just been grateful we’ve still got a club.
It’s clear that next season we won’t have a lot of the current players or they won’t be on as much money.
Many thanks again to Michelle and everyone involved. Whilst I am a paid up Guardian reader (you won’t be surprised Kitchener), I’ll happily also praise Holly Mumby-Croft for doing her part as our MP.“Reasons out of my control“
I compared what I could but didn’t have time to look up all the turnovers and times when goals were scored.
Tamworth have the best defence in the league having conceded only 19 goals from 28 games.
Scunthorpe have the third best defence in the league having conceded only 23 goals from 27 games.
They’ve kept 14 clean sheets from 28 games.
Scunthorpe 13 clean sheets from 27 games
In 50% of their games the opponents have failed to score!
In 44.44% of Scunthorpe games the opponents have failed to score
They’ve kept 6 clean sheets away from home – 43%
Scunthorpe have kept 3 clean sheets away from home – 23%
Sept 9th to Oct 28th they kept 6 clean sheets on the bounce.
Dec 16th to Dec 30th Scunthorpe kept 4 clean sheets on the bounce.
When do they concede goals?
00-15 min = 3
16-30 min = 0
31-45 min = 2
45+ min = 146-60 min = 4
61-75 min = 4
76-90 min = 3
90+ min = 2They’ve conceded 6 (32%) goals in the first half of games and 13 (68%) in the second half of games.
Defeats – 6
Scunthorpe defeats – 5 (from one less game)
Their biggest defeat was 0-2.Scunthorpe biggest defeat 0-3
The other 5 defeats have been by a single goal.Scunthorpe other 4 defeats by 2 goals three times and 1 goal once
0-1 twice
1-2 three times
3 defeats at home – 3 defeats away0-1 once

1-3 once
1 defeat at home – 4 defeats away
They’ve only failed to score on four occasions. 3 away games – 1 home game.
Scunthorpe failed to score on 5 occasions. 4 away games – 1 home game.
Turnovers:
W-W 16… they’ve won 16 of the games in which they scored firstW-W = 16
W-D = 1
W-L = 1D-D (0-0) = 1
L-L = 5
L-D = 0
L-W = 4
They went on to win 4 games in which the opposition scored first. Most frequent winning score:
1-0 = 5
2-1 = 4
2-0 = 3
4-0 = 3
3-0 = 2
4-1 = 2
3-1 = 1In 13 of their victories, they kept a clean sheet.
In 11 Scunthorpe victories, we kept a clean sheet.
In their remaining 7 victories, the opponents only scored 1 goal.
In our remaining 5 victories, the opponents only scored 1 goal.
No one has scored more than one goal against Tamworth when they have won.
No one has scored more than one goal against Scunthorpe when they have won.
Squeaky bum time.
Put another way – Tamworth have lost at home to Alfreton, Scunthorpe, and Banbury.
Tamworth have lost away to Buxton, South Shields and Chester.Rene, if you get time why not produce the same analysis for The Iron ? It would be interesting to see in stats not emotion how we compare.
As I said in the “8 points behind” thread ; Smiths gone, Butterfield out with concussion so that’s our 2 best players out of the current picture. Leading scorer (and chief shithouse) Whitehall is suspended. We ain’t got no money so any players that could come in as replacements like Pugh, Bennett, Carver and DSF are out on loan. The ones we’ve got like Wilson, Barrows, Kelly, Shrimpton and Beestin are not up to speed/coming back from injury. We are under a transfer embargo due to debts that still haven’t been repaid so we can’t sign anyone, or even reloan Smith.
Haven’t we just won 6, drawn 2 and lost one of the last 9 games ? Already people are bottling it.
I only came on here in the first place to moan about Dean last season but what he’s done since relegation has convinced me to support him this season.
The reality is the club is still being dug out of a deep hole and the fact that we are up there with a chance of promotion is a decent achievement so far (in my opinion). Im quite sure in an ideal world Dean would have kept Smith and probably had Bennett, who scored 2 for Southport last week, in reserve to replace Whitehall. But it is far from an ideal world, so I’ll do my bit which is turn up at home, cheer them on and stick some money in the pot.Oh ye of little faith. Best player out injured, second best player gone back to Hearts, leading goalscorer suspended, numerous squad players farmed out on loan, It would have been more surprising if we’d won.
We are still in the brown stuff financially, evidenced by the transfer embargo and Roberts revealing he paid for his own operation.
There’s still 19 games to play. I will back the board, manager, coaches and players to give it a good shot and not start panicking yet.1 user thanked author for this post.
Hopefully Pugh has a good game for them against Tamworth in Feb and does us a favour.
Come on Rene, first half on Saturday Boston hardly got a kick. Smiths first touch was a joy to watch and some of the football way above any expectations for this league. We let them off the hook, and paid the price for not getting a third goal but the season isn’t over yet, it’s one game against a decent Boston team. Hopefully back to winning ways at Brackley.

12 minutes Rene ? You young generation with your short attention spans !
They do go on to talk about their own personal journeys. Whitehall gets a mention when they talk about the dark arts of pro football.I’m with awaywego on this one. He’s a shithouse, but he’s our shithouse.
That incident on Saturday was pathetic and both players should be embarrassed, but it was a yellow card each and in my opinion the ref overreacted.
We’ve got to get out of this horrible league first.According to Dean, Smith had a blowout on his way back from Scotland and didn’t arrive at the ground until 1.15.
I presume it was a tyre.

First game the weather was a joke. Second game we were in a very bad place, I genuinely thought it could be my last time at GP. Yes, they beat us 3-0 in that game but one goal was a penalty for a foul that was 3 foot outside the area.
I think we owe them a reality check and hope we go do a professional job of beating them, then get on the bus, leave, and never play them ever again.9 users thanked author for this post.
It looked like Jenkins, and Wilson, were having some kind of fitness test during the warm up before the game.
End of any point in you starting yet another thread about not liking Dean, his tactics or whether he should be manager. Under the circumstances, where weeks ago we have walked out of the stadium not knowing if we’d ever walk back in, the fact we are top of the league is surely enough for now. Whatever you think about Dean he does actually seem to care and has done what was expected this season, so far.
Attendance 1899, that number again.
