Man Of The Match – Jimmy Dean.
Always forgive your enemies – nothing annoys them so much.
Oscar Wilde (again. (Cassidystash started it !))

Reality is the club can’t afford the current squad. I hope they find a way to keep it together and we’ve got an excellent chance then of promotion. But if they secure the ground and we have to lose some good players and stay down here longer then that is the price as fans that will have to be paid.
It could easily have been 10-0.
Apart from being a really good player Clunan is continually giving instructions and pointing at what other players should be doing in. He does as much good on the ball as off it. It looked like he had something to say to Whitehall first half when a move broke down due to a bad touch by him. A proper captain.
Jimmy was there in the dugout and occasionally stood near the touch line. What a night ! Smiths second goal and Butterfields are up there with the best Ive ever seen at GP.
Shout out to the Spennymoor fans, enjoyed the Poznan at 6-0 and good humourVery.
With regard to Bennett, he’d be better in a straightforward 4 4 2 probably with Wilson, but that won’t happen with JD.

Hilton told JD his budget. I presume…
Spot on Sharp Shooter.
We cannot sleepwalk into ‘I’m just grateful I’ve got a club to support’ territory. yes we are all grateful and it’s wonderful to talk about on the pitch stuff but if we slip into mediocre football and mid table obscurity in NLN, long term it won’t work. We need to be at teams from minute one – far too cautious and lacking any plan B when things don’t go our way.
Arguably we are already in “I’m just grateful” territory. Unfortunately this is Hilton’s fantasy football squad, we never should have got. Can we afford to keep it ?

One name, Elliot Whitehouse. Was always going to score today.
If anyone can tell me why we farmed him out on loan to Chester last season, and then let them sign him, I’d like to know. That commentator, Wishart, is poor. Kept saying Bennett instead of Elliott even in the post match interview with Plummer. Kept going on about no 4th official as if it was just for this game when they don’t have 4th officials at this level, he should know that.

Just keep on riding the rollercoaster folks. We’ll probably hammer Spennymoor on Tuesday night now.
You are right about that Awaywego !
Look on the bright side NLI we don’t what’s happening next week but can in fact book bus travel to the next 3 away games….
It seems a shame that Spenny fans want to buy tickets (what’s that in money a couple of grand income to the club ?) and bring at least 2 buses of supporters on a Tuesday night and still don’t know what exactly happening.1 user thanked author for this post.
It isn’t very good when we find out more about what is going on from Spennymore supporters than our own club.

Best thing to do is wonder why and draw our own conclusions and possibilities.
Reassuringly we still get to play the Scunthorpe Utd game of guess what is happening.A proper reply to the question of when the turning point occurred would probably get someone a masters in psychology.
I think people wanted someone to take over from Swann, and Hilton turned up saying all the right things, everything they wanted to hear. Then the steady stream of bad information starts, people dig into their positions, and basically people don’t like to admit they were wrong. Scammers rely on that, many victims of scams won’t ever say anything because they don’t want to admit they were duped. I won’t pretend to know what Hilton’s plan was last week, I can’t decide whether he wanted the bans and the leaked text comment to force the issue and accelerate him leaving or if wanted to isolate the 2 Matt’s and Greeny and it totally backfired. But I think a lot of fans had known for a long time they were backing the wrong horse and needed something bad enough to happen from Hilton for them to say they couldn’t accept it and jump off that horse. Even then I think a lot of people didn’t care enough until the club statement that Brackley was the last game at GP, the confusion with Gainsborough and the actual reality that Hilton was pulling the plug and, if he ever had any money at all, he wasn’t going to spend another penny on their club.2 users thanked author for this post.
“Sticks”
Did he ever actually score a goal for us ?Ticket has gone now.

No worries MK, I’ll put a post up for it.
I’ll be there.
Unfortunately I can’t get to this walk or the match due to work commitments.
MK, if you haven’t already bought a ticket, I’ve bought one for the DRE anyway which you are more than welcome to have ?
On a personal note, I would like to pass my thanks to Interested Bystander for continuing to pass on information which certainly allowed me to build up an informed view of what was going on.
And also the people behind Ironbru and particularly the moderators as well everyone who posted screenshots of Facebook, Twitter etc, which I have no wish to join, but clearly a lot of this was played out there.
You done good.7 users thanked author for this post.
All the best to her, and the rest of the board.
Thank goodness someone had the guts and ability to do it.
There’s obviously a lot of work to do but Hilton consigned to history is a good start.2 users thanked author for this post.
All the best Jimmy, get well soon.
Rene, AA, please give it a break with all these different threads. I’m sure other people are the same I’ve got a few minutes before work to see what’s going on and there’s 6 threads updated overnight with cryptic titles.

I agree with all of the above.
Although Farewell To Glanford Park Unity Walk sounds a bit defeatist to me. There’s got to be a better title.
We can’t leave Glanford Park. I’d appeal for some mercy from Peter Swann if someone can get the club off Hilton.Sellars-Fleming on the bench for Hull City yesterday.
Does anyone know what our compensation rights, which we apparently retained, are ?He has gone up massively in my estimation. It was poor last season, he knew it, promised better and delivered on that promise.
He has been conned by Hilton as much as anyone else, if not more. I can’t imagine how he feels getting his dream shot as a manager then having the rug pulled out from under him. I don’t mind admitting I shed tears listening to his interview after yesterdays game. I don’t blame the players yesterday, they were out there for us and Jimmy and must be emotionally drained after this week.10 users thanked author for this post.
It is very humbling the donations from across football but particularly from Mariners fans and their club owners.
Hilton out. There, I’ve said it !
