I’ve lived overseas for 40 years but always followed Scun Utd. Delighted when iFollow was introduced to watch every game live. But I have never seen such dross as what we “watch” now. It is indeed the poorest Scun Utd team ever. Remember not too long back when we “moaned” about Novak and McArdle – when we had Holmes, Townsend and Wallace in the line up. Last night was not football – it was hoofball. For the first time, I switched off at 2-0 down because it was a disgrace. A loss is not a disgrace to a better team provided we put in 110% – but that is clearly not the case. I’m not an advocate of continually changing managers and Cox did inherit 6 signings. A clear out is required – too much inexperience is there back to front, lacking in any commitment to the club. Sad to see Karacan and Gilliead been brought down to the level of this dross. Swann’s strategy for this club has failed. There will be experienced players in non league who would give their right arm to be back in the “league” and who would most definitely put a shift in and proud to wear the shirt. Bring some in starting with the goalkeeper (why did we let Gilks go, and we were most definitely spoiled with Murphy).
Thoroughly enjoyed watching the game. Team selection and bench providing Cox with some good options. Agree that Eisa is best out on the wing. Spence was a standout for sure. And Hyppolite back on his game with some sublime passes. Howard needs to sort out his kicks into touch – 5 in the first half. A point away at Salford is a great result by any means.

Didn’t see anyone composing from their side!
January 17, 2021 at 4:31 am in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #2011185 lost 1 won in the last 6 games. I remember good managers being sacked even when in upper half of the league. Harrogate and Bradford above us with 2 games in hand. Cox drones on after each game about how many “cup finals” we have, and how they want to win every one. It’s a joke. Listen to the opposition commentary – every game Scunthorpe a “poor side”. Serious lack of threat up front. The fault lies at Swann’s door – his turnover of Managers un-acceptable – he meddled too much in an area where he is not qualified. The age old problem of not letting a Manager “manage”. Bringing in 6 players before hiring Cox – disastrous. Give the club Swann to someone who cares about the future of the Club, even if considering the debt, it means you paying the buyer😀. I’m in the Middle East – happy to look at brokering a deal for you!
