Yep. They would have been perfectly aware of how many fans they could attract to this game, so the idea they were the ones who had decided on only having the tickets on sale from the 25th seems fanciful. Where is the motivation? It would only drive fans away if it got too chaotic, and the club don’t want that.
National League are really making some howlers:

I still don’t know why they would name drop the National League if it was actually some internal policy and risk escalating the situation over something which is cared about by you and few others. Get over it already, it’s not like we’re being led down the path by a con artist with ponzi schemes and stunts over the ground.
One thing about offsides is at what frame do they decided it’s left the boot of the player. In those split seconds, the player looking for the ball could go from on to offside, so the moment they choose is vital. For these incredibly marginal calls, is it really worth this nitpicking over something where there will be margin for error? They are looking for a perfect call when there might not be one.
Before VAR no Man Utd fan would have grumbled about that Coventry goal for possible offside, since it was so marginal, except for the extremely biased. Others have said that it will be hard to shift, because there’s too much money and pride involved now. However, I can’t help but feel the spirit of the game has gone with this (as with other things, including replay scrapping). It would have been better if it was only used for the truly ridiculous, but it would have been hard to stop there with managers causing a fuss over the lesser incidents that would have missed.
The EFL didn’t make the playoff bye cock-up, which is what I was speaking about.
Perhaps they could hire awaywego as a proof reader of the rules before making decisions, given they don’t seem to bother with them when making decisions until someone points to them after the initial decision. With his faith that the National League are consistent with their rulebook, he should impress at interview, since most other non-league fans are used to this shambolic decision making and take a dim view of them.
Sounds an absolute mess. First the National League announces Solihull get the bye, now they rethink and give Altrincham the bye. Sounds like an organisation with a diligent attention to their rulebook and professionalism.
Altrincham have been informed they are the team to receive a bye to the National League semi-finals & not Solihull Moors as previously announced
Moors now host FC Halifax Town on Wednesday in the play-off eliminator the winner of that game faces Barnet on Saturday

Sheffield Utd came out against it, so it’s not all.

I note that Brackley, Chelmsford and Worthing (the latter two finished 2nd and 3rd in NLS) don’t have tickets on sale yet. This really isn’t some big drama.
If this was ever to get into motion, I am sure the principled managers and owners of Premier League clubs would be up in arms because of the strain of extra games on their overworked players:
We covered every hot topic of non-footy Bru here. All that is missing is Bucks to come along to talk about ‘so-called CO2 caused climate change’ not being a thing because environmentalists don’t talk about methane emissions from horse farts.

No, the idea that Moody and the club are not being truthful is, based off unrelated incidents in the past that prove nothing. lol
No, I don’t go off baseless speculation over a motivation to lie which makes no sense.

The club and James Moody have repeatedly said that they were initially rejected earlier sales and now have said that the change came after dialogue with the league. All on public platforms and with information that puts responsibility on the league. The club and James have to be the most risk taking and idiotic people to think they could get away with lying, since the league could just say this isn’t true (since they would not want to be held responsible for something they weren’t), over something that really isn’t worth this kind of hassle over.
Despite your claims, Facebook and twitter are hardly niche websites tucked away where people can’t see them. People have been sued for lying and spreading nonsense on them. Why risk being made to look like idiots by the league, or even potentially taken to task for lying over justifying some policy that would put extra pressure on staff just to print tickets with the known opponent on? Or for some worthwhile prank where they could giggle at stressed fans trying to get tickets for a game with two games to go? It seems the simplest explanation is that the club are telling the truth.

If it was because of the club, why do they continue to say it was because of dialogue with the league authorities? It would be easy for the league to refute, so it seems pointless to make stuff up.

Twitter’s a public platform, where people will get information and any falsehoods would be damaging. If he’s said anything false he could be in hot water. Could the authorities have missed this? Maybe, but why would Moody take the risk of putting him and the club in the frame for needless bother caused by lying over something like this?

I like the way everyone is believing Moody on this, The facts are its not in the Vanarama 23/24 rule book about waiting till the opponent is known, and the fact is that teams last year were allowed to sell the semi tickets as soon as the regular season had finished.
History shows be sceptical of the club, do they put the best interest of the fans first, not from previous no.Why would they put themselves under pressure and maybe lose attendance from some fans? For some giggle at frustrated fans from the prank? If Moody is telling fibs I would imagine the league would step in to correct to protect their own image, so why don’t they?

Madden was a decent enough goalscorer for us, so I don’t think there’s room for complaint, but he wasn’t not as good as Hooper or Sharp. Not as good with the ball as Keogh or Hayes.

Grimsby just need a point to survive and Sutton need to win every game with a goal difference swing needed. I think they’re pretty much safe.

Yes, it was wrong for the evil west to defend an ally from Iranian drones. We should have risked letting an attack on an ally’s civilians (and not collateral damage) succeed because ‘west bad’. Funny how you accuse others of appeasement, given you speak of appeasing Iran, and your focus on Ukraine has been on ‘evil Zelensky’ and little on Russia.
Yeah, and that’s not the reason you were called it. Nice twisting.
Well, Iran have been escalating themselves given their involvement with Hamas and Hezbollah for Oct 7th and Hezbollah missile barrages. Does this mean that Israel should have struck the embassy or launch attacks aimed at Iran? No, but it’s not just Israel involved. Iran have been escalating things themselves and this is a likely outcome. If there’s any way out there needs to be change on either side.
Personally, I think the biggest joke are the ‘peace activists’ who were cheering on Iran to destroy Israel over the weekend. It’s an Orwellian version of peace when their version is cheer on the Islamists on the other side and oppose attempts for any kind of coexistence. The Palestinian activists who push for the latter get abused and attacked by those who say they want peace.
Yes. We pretty well came to the same stand off previously, Sidey. When does the Euthenasia debate kick in? :)
To be honest, I don’t think our opinions were that far apart on euthanasia and would probably be less so now, as my opinion has only soured further with Canada’s experiments with it.

Aye, the world was a whole bed of roses before the enlightenment. St Bartholomew’s Day Massacre, Albigensian Crusade, witch hunts, low life expectancy. Those were the days.

It hasn’t been inspected since, according to the food hygiene website.
Except some horror stories are suggesting otherwise regarding risk to life.
Yes, and horses have more sentience than a less than 20 week old fetus, which make up the vast majority of abortions. The majority of late stage abortions are because the woman is at risk, and this is acceptable at this stage, in my opinion. So to use extreme outliers as a case against the majority seems emotional to me, as does talk of suffering for the majority of fetuses where sentience is not evident. Ultimately, I don’t think it’s some black and white case. Abortions shouldn’t be taken lightly, but the alternative to legal abortions are worse in that it leads to female control, whose rights trump that of something non-sentient, in my opinion.
Anyway, I realise this is a sensitive topic and it’s drifted off topic, so I will just leave it as I agree to disagree.
The catering premises are the responsibility of the caterer. They don’t cater for themselves, so if there’spoor hygiene, the fault usuallystems from human error. Some of the things I have been told originate from this year, and none reflect well on The Smoking Goat. A capable caterer should be able to achieve more than a 1 star hygiene rating through adequate kitchen management.
It will affect Michelle to be left with it, but that again comes from the caterers.
Kelvin from Hull KR comes with a good reputation. He says he has some ideas. I hope he can do this, while improving food hygiene.

Does that include Michelle Harness, who was the one who has sent him packing? Maybe because the catering earned a 1 star hygiene rating? The food may taste nice, but if he gets the club a 1 star hygiene rating, and if the tales of poor kitchen management are true, it’s no surprise that he’s not coming back.
