The Chairman is absolutely useless in my opinion (and many others)
He is (most likely) going to be the person who takes 70+ Years of football league history and tradition and rams it down the toilet!!
Wonder how proud that makes him feel???
I’ll predict a propaganda radio humberside interview when the inevitable happens filled with false promises… obviously I could be wrong these are simply my own thoughts and predictions!!

Green is absolutely rubbish!!!

Individual errors costing us once again
This team needs help massively with some decent recruitment, too much responsibility on so many young shoulders!
Carry on like this and we are down!!
Stevenage currently smashing Walsall… soon we will run out of relegation competition. Thanks Peter

We were by far the best team, even in the first half.
Massive credit to Keith Hill, the football today was progressive and forward thinking yet every player tracked back and defended brilliantly.
Loft gave us the edge we missed in the first half when he came on… on his day he’s absolutely brilliant.
Really enjoyed the game and we’ve moved off the bottom and out of the bottom 2… that’s got to be a massive boost for the lads.
Merry Christmas2 users thanked author for this post.
Perfect appointment for us right now, I think he’ll do really well and if we stick with him you just never know what he could deliver.
Well done Peter, now just let him get on with it and support him in January and you’ll have started to earn some credit back!!
Definitely not!!
This appointment is massive for PS… he HAS TO GET IT RIGHT!!!
An unpopular appointment that fans don’t believe in will finish off home attendance.
This is his chance to galvanise a fan base which has totally switched off from SUFC.
Probably the most important decision Swann has had to make in all his years in charge!!!
GET THIS RIGHT PETER12 users thanked author for this post.
Same old desperate interview afterwards… he’s moved on from we’ve got a young squad… which we actually haven’t!!
And he’s moved on to everyone is I’ll … what an absolute disgrace!!
Barrow 80% possession… resign now you incompetent fool.3 users thanked author for this post.
First time in years the majority of fans are pointing the finger at him so this response is unsurprising.
He’s firmly in the firing line.Let’s face facts, If fans continue to turn their back on the club on match days then he’ll have no choice but to dip into his pockets to make up the short fall and after Saturday he’s obviously realised that attendances over 2,000 are at serious risk…… for the first time in his tenure HE NEEDS FANS through the turnstiles!!!!
The difference between 3,000 and 2,000 hits him in the pocket and he’s in the shit because most of us have finally ran out of patience!!The Latest statements are too little too late!
He’s done this to our club…… NO-ONE ELSE!!If he wants the fans back onside he needs to sort out the football and results…simple as that.
His words mean absolutely nothing anymore!!He’s desperate but he’s done this so I have absolutely zero sympathy!!

Cox has now destroyed his legacy at SUFC, yes fans will remember the good times but he’s miss placed his faith in his managerial ability and as result most fans won’t think of him in the same way!! Shame… but If he’d gone earlier he’d still be respected!!
Absolutely mess!!
It’s an absolute disgrace he’s not in the team as well as Pugh
We have no width and no bite in midfield yet these two offer both!
Add in the two last minute loan signings in midfield positions we didn’t need to strengthen using up the budget up which should have been saved or used elsewhere!
Just more examples of how appalling Cox is as a football manager… he’ll never manager again at this level!!!
I would be happy to bet a lot of money on that!!
1 user thanked author for this post.
So… we are now 10 games in, the magical point in time where managers at all levels have said they start judging the table.
We sit bottom of the league!!
We are the worst professional football team in the whole country!!Cox is a shit football manager and HAS to go…
yes Peter Swann is the real (long term) problem but Cox doesn’t understand football management at all… he’s embarrassing himself now!!
We could still stay up with someone else in charge as long as the appointment is a good one with PS keeping his nose out of the first team affairs… like he should have with so many previous managers!6 users thanked author for this post.
Cox isn’t a manager!!
He’s absolutely awfulNo idea how to attack or press only wins when the opposition are shite!!
Wim % of 24% after over a year in charge!!
Absolute disgrace… only supported this long because he’s a local lad.
I keep posting this… Cox isn’t a football manager!
1 user thanked author for this post.
You seem to be a top bloke Mick!!
But if a team can’t even get a shot on target when they have all the possession then I think you have to accept it’s more about how s**! They were rather than how good we were
Cox isn’t a good manager!!Pathetic statement IMO
And 100% after the horse has balted!
As for the lengthy last bit about fan behaviour I have to say I was disappointed to hear sections of the donny road end chanting ‘get your **** out for the lads’ as the Sutton United female physio walked along the edge of the pitch past them.
Not good enough
No!! The ownership have cut off the nose!!
Had the past few years been open and inclusive the fans would still be there!!
Poor decision after poor decision and fans treated like NOTHING!!It appears that the Swann family now want the fans to come along because they’ve decided to stop putting in their own money but the damage is done… the fans love the club but they don’t love the owners or the direction in which the clubs been run!
This is a low not seen for generations… who’s to blame??
There can only be ONE PERSON!!4 users thanked author for this post.
Sell up Peter
It feels like you’ve lost interest so pop it on the market and let’s see who’s out there!!
Bound to be a consortium ready to make things good
Swann has destroyed the connection between the club and the fans
Can the players keep the legacy of previous owners/managers/players alive??
The town should have a football league club, the threat to that exists due to one man!Uptheiron is an absolute *********
Jog on!!! You Joker!!5 users thanked author for this post.
Agree about set pieces.
If the team are going to find the season challenging because we are using so many young lads and the squad is threadbare then perfecting set pieces is vital.
9 corners in the first half with no shots on target during the 45 minutes!!
Is Cox capable of attacking football & tactics??
I just don’t see that he is1 user thanked author for this post.
Took my 2 daughters as the wife was at work, seats covered in cobwebs and bird poo with the season ticket holders sticker still on there from 2 seasons ago…
shoddy!!
Unprofessional!!
And all of this under the stewardship of someone who’s main business is hospitality…
Disgusting!!The clubs been run appallingly with fans treated like they don’t matter… it’s only one persons fault but he’ll never see it that way!!
7 users thanked author for this post.
So here are my thoughts, I’ll start with player ratings…
Watson 9
Pugh 7
Onariase 8
Taft 7
Davis 7
Thompson 7
Beestin 8
Perry 7
Hippolyte 7
Green 7
Scrimshaw 8All 3 subs were poor, each sub made the team weaker and the performance worse.
Cox 5
Absolutely no idea how to win a football match!
Subs were poor and I get the bench is weak and that’s not necessarily his fault but when Green had to go off it needed to be for Wilson to keep the attacking creativity alive with some pace… Jessop isn’t good enough!
When jessop came on we lost width down one side and we had 2 small strikers offering very little, the ball just started coming back at us.
Cox interview was poor, young lads who need to learn… He needs to learn!! Sometimes hanging on for a one nil won’t be enough and it’s not the young lads fault.
He’s tactically appalling.Final word to the lads, I actually enjoyed the game and they played well for the most part.
This team could do ok and not be in a relegation battle but they will need support from the fans .1 user thanked author for this post.
Yay
We deserved a point…. Wo Ho!!!
A point is all we will realistically get from any game this season.
We have zero goal threat and it looks like the set up from last season had nothing to do with personnel it’s actually all Cox understands
Boring, deep, zero threat!!So far we’ve taken 2 points and they are from 2 teams we will be battling relegation with so maybe the celebrations need to be put on hold!!
We are shite!!
We will need a miracle to maintain out league status!!!!
1 user thanked author for this post.
Great reply Lord… must have taken you a while to add such thought out opinions
A very good and truthful article.
For what it’s worth I would say as more articles are written from people with no association with the club about the awful situation we are in then maybe more people will sit up and realise we are potentially on the edge of a cliff here!!
2 users thanked author for this post.
Regardless it’s another embarrassing situation!!
Let’s be honest if you are loaning out a young talent you’d look into the club that want him……… this club has a toxic relationship between the owners and the fans, we are on a downward spiral in a-lot of aspects of the business and we play disgusting (no tactics) football!!
Good place for a young starlet to come??
Absolutely not happening!!!
2 users thanked author for this post.
😂😂
Surely this post is some sort of joke??He’ll play zero games in the premier league and I’d hazard a guess he’ll be loaned out.
Big Ivan up top on the other hand… I’ll hold my hands up and admit I was never convinced but surely we should have out bid Peterborough having already worked with him and known his potential??
Sadly we didn’t and now the Posh are cashing in!!Clubs an absolute joke!!!

August 10, 2021 at 11:30 pm in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #211724He’s not a football league manager!!
Never had been!!
Watching his teams play football is painful
I hate to say it, because he seems like a nice guy, but he’s tactically inept!!!
He will not survive this season
2 users thanked author for this post.
You could claim this is Covid related and possibly a little bit is, however I think it’s more about the frustration and miss trust the fans feel.
Enough is enough
Maybe the fans are more important than some owners used to think
3 weeks until we kick off the new season and the same mistakes from the previous pre-seasons are happening again
If a miracle happens and we go out and add the 5 or 6 players we need, will we then hear how the poor league position/ rubbish start to the season is down to the lads not having a full pre-season together etc… and Covid (obviously)
And if we don’t add the players we need… well we are in big trouble and that will no doubt be because of Covid and a lack of support through season ticket sales 😡
Just absolute madness at SUFC these past few years
3 users thanked author for this post.
I’m 100% with Jem
Well done and thanks for being so honest
Top man!!!
As for the interview on humberside with the chairman… WOW!! I was not a fan of this!!!
IMO…
I think it’s time Peter started to understand he needs to transform what happens on the pitch to sell season tickets and get people back believing… interviews and promises have become boring!! I don’t think we are buying it anymore.
I would Leave the spin to the politicians
I think Peter has done well to keep a lot of fans on his side for this long, in my opinion he’s losing the faith of these fans at rapid pace!!
There’s a good chance it Won’t be long before the home crowd turn on him at home games and that won’t be a nice place to be for himFinally…
Thanks Jem, absolutely outstanding interview!!
SUFC are a far worse team without you!!2 users thanked author for this post.
