Stupid decision letting Pugh go

We’ve been playing kids for months, why was yesterday such a surprise???

Hill genuinely said 10/12 will make up the squad for next year so basically we are absolutely F**k*D!!!
The national league is NO PLACE to put all your trust in a team of U23’s!!
Even today we were apparently really good yet look at the stats…. Hartlepool had an embarrassing amount of shots!
These lads are playing because we have NO choice… to be now making out this was always the plan smacks of desperation!!
These young lads have done well but this should NEVER have been the case!
One or two maybe, drip fed into the team but this is madness!!Then Hill states a 17 year old GK who hasn’t played a single game until today is a future England player…. I’ll take some of what he’s been having!!
My thoughts are….. a year of struggle ahead (which is utterly embarrassing)
Could we end up in the national north??
I stated this 3 years ago in a post, a little tongue in cheek at the time… but I’m now feeling in 18 months that’s where we will be!
And probably part time or the club folded! This is simply my opinion but we are yet another lesson to all football fans… be carful what you wish for as the next car crash owner is waiting in the wings!!

Wishful thinking…
The point I’m making is our seasons done so where’s the recruiting?
What’s the plan?
Pre-contracts??
Level of ambition??We have messed up pretty much every preseason going since Swann arrived… surely this year there’s no reason for that to happen??
We are weeks ahead of others as we know our fate! The club put all their effort into pushing season tickets but no one wants one until we know what we are paying for!
Yes we should support the team whatever but in the expensive world we live in that’s not going to be buy purchasing a season ticket just because SUFC are my hometown team.
Trust in Peter Swann is probably at an all time low so selling tickets without something tangible (squad) to buy into is going to be hard to say the least

I think our predicament has been so obvious for so long we’ve given in months if not years ago.
Not saying it’s right but if you take my family… 3 generations attended every Saturday BUT now NONE attend because the football is shambolic and the owner is……… (I’ll let you fill in the blanks)
Our protest is to stay away, and has been for along time now!
Yes, I know that doesn’t help the club financially but it’s how we chose to make a stand and many others have done the same.If the club show some fight we will be back!!!
As for a physical protest… I’m also disappointed there’s been nothing more! I’m not sure how the guys still attending each week haven’t absolutely lost it and done something like the Oldham fans did.
Maybe the 1,500 still going just like wasting their money and their time and enjoy watching a load of rubbish??

Charlton away first game in the championship and I think they had just come down from the prem
It felt massive and Like we’d really made it into the big time!!
When Izzy scored that header the away end lost their minds… amazing!!

A really nice post captain, thank you!

Why will it cost 10million plus??
Crawley town just sold for half that and they are a football league club!
Sorry Peter but you’ve ran this into the ground so it’s now worth a lot less than you probably want!!
Take a reasonable amount (possibly 3 million) and Leave… and don’t ever come back!!

If Keith honestly thinks this ‘honest’ group of youngsters can do a job in the national league then we are royally fuc**d!!!
A great attempt at a positive spin Keith but these lads are showing they are NOT GOOD ENOUGH every single week!! It’s just embarrassing for us all
The level below is pretty much on par with this one!!
And our lads are absolutely SH*T at this level!!!So, as Peter asked us to…… let’s all buy our season tickets so we can watch ‘a Scunny team’ get absolutely smashed by Bromley, Kings Lynn and Woking
As for Keith Hill… he’s just the next Robins, Hurst, Alexander

At least someone did something!!
It’s absolutely disgusting what’s happened to this club over the past few years!!!
Over to you to tell us all its brilliant and how lucky we are UTI99

A ridiculous post!

To me this just looks like his latest desperate tactic to get the fans back in their numbers spending money!
But (and sadly) too much damage has been done, theres simply no trust left!I’ll always support Scunthorpe and I’ll be ready to do what I can as a fan even if thats going to watch a Phenix club at a lower level in the pyramid like Macclesfield, but I won’t be doing what Peter wants and spending my hard earned money keeping his family in place when I feel so passionately against them and their running of this club.
We are no longer a football league club so its almost irrelevant if we are at step 1 or 8… whats important is the feeling of pride, belonging, passion and togetherness etc… thats just not going to be there while Peter is still involved IMO.
The only positive outcome now (in my opinion) is new ownership and the club taken in a totally different direction.
I was excited Thursday and I’m deflated tonight!!!
Nothing has changed

Uptheiron99… words fail me!!
Just disappear and do us all a favour

Great idea now we just need everyone in attendance to do it
Someone needs to shine a light on Peter Swann for the wider world to see
1 user thanked author for this post.
How can anyone still listen to and accept the total bull S**te that comes out of our owners mouth… totally my opinion but one I am absolutely certain about!!
He’s taking the football club to the brink of non-existence while being allowed to book in interviews with Matt & Humberside to tell us it’s all ok and all we need is 3000 fans in the ground each week .
I believe he’s (Swann) Toxic and I know the football club is unrecognisable from 10 years ago… I’m embarrassed by the ground/facilities and match day experience!
The fans need to boycott the final home game! ZERO fans in the ground will make the news and Mr Swann will hate that!! He just wants to sit under the radar wrecking a small towns football league club and we need to show the wider world what he’s done!
Time to make a stand and show everyone what this man is doing!!

Can’t see it!!

Why would you invest in this chairman’s vision
Don’t do it until HE SHOWS US HIS AMBITION!!!
I predict that He’ll happily take 2,000 decent Scunny folks money and put another embarrassment of a football team together if we are not careful… it’s time to hold this man to account! Don’t buy anything until we see what he’s going to do to sort this sh*T show out!!!!

It always is Mick yet Peter expects people to keep paying!!
Absolutely clueless

Disgusting decision

Surely if he’s not going to be here next season we’re wasting our time playing him
1 user thanked author for this post.
I think lots of us have lots we would love to say on Peter Swann but choose not to to avoid any unnecessary further action against us.
This club is in a mess and we all know who’s to blame
7 users thanked author for this post.
Not sure this team can afford to drop Manny he’s probably our best player
Joins a list of absolutely awful football club chairman
Hope he’s proud of the mess he’s made

Swann has been a one man wrecking ball to a really important football league club.
Swann you are not welcome in scunthorpe!!
I think it’s fair to assume you are a hated man by all fans of SUFC

Winnall signed by laws, a deal already in the making before swann!!!
I was at his trialist A/B or C game in pre-season at Farsley along side Burton if I remember rightly with Paul Hayes there too
And as I already stated… put together before swann!!
Don’t think anyone has forgotten about Winnall or Patterson or any of our good forwards
1 user thanked author for this post.
Who was the last good striker we signed?
Tony on loan??
KVV maybe, he’s definitely talented but not prolific!!………
Before that Madden
Haven’t had many since Swann took over, in the Wharton days we were spoilt with really good forwards .
Really boring watching a toothless team who create next to nothing

I don’t rate Millen at all and I’m starting to worry about the lack of width when we attack.
I want wingers who hug the line, have chalk on their boots etc…
Stay wide and keep options available for the switch or counter!
Then it’s all about balls into the box, good quality balls for the front lads to attack3 users thanked author for this post.
I watch matches through my smart TV, had no issues
Awful first 30 mins
Shocking RefHowever, we had Loads of heart!! And Lots of fight!!
We actually had in game management running the clock down!!Well done lads, well deserved in the end
