First half was a tough watch, I thought the formation really hampered us and it seems to nullify Whitehall a bit too.
We lacked width big time!! No atmosphere at all because there was nothing to get behind.
We were lucky to go in at the break one nil up when 0 vs 0 would probably have been fairer on the balance of play however it’s great to have a serious threat from throw ins.
Second half was better in particular the last 30 minutes when we changed formation and seemed to move to a 4-4-2… we had better width, looked an attacking threat and played really well with Whitehall looking absolutely deadly and full of energy.
Roberts is lost playing this current role, at times in the first half we had absolutely nothing in CM.
Marine looked a solid well organised team but there wasn’t a single point in the match where I thought they’d score, they don’t have enough quality.
Overall chuffed with the victory and clean sheet, hope we can keep it going.

This won’t be popular but I think we will be well beaten, I can’t see this formation working at all and the lack of wingers in the squad is a concern.
Hoping I’m wrong but I’ll go 3 vs 1 and a massive bounce back at home against Marine needed.

Brigg the better team today for me… played some good stuff.
Only preseason though so no need to panic

Feel a bit short if that’s us done, still think we needed a solid RB to replace Ogle.
And wingers…. Feel too light and law and Roberts both likely to pick up a knock or two!
Unless the plan is wing backs and 3 CB’s ☹️

Play offs, but probably lower end of them (4th to 7th) so an additional play off game and no home advantage if we progress.
    Not expecting promotion unfortunately.
Hoping Andy Butler proves me wrong!!
    Don’t think he will

If we had a different manager in charge last season (not JD) I’m convinced Danny Elliot was worth 30 goals but sadly we’ve wasted him.
I’d be astonished if he’s not top scorer in that league next season.
Unbelievable signing for Macclesfield and personally I’m gutted we let him go.
Really pleased we are going to be sustainable but Elliot & Butterfield not staying will no doubt prove to be massive mistakes.

Just a load more bull IMO

Be nice if he just held his hands up and said he massively Fu*k up and he should never have taken the club on in the first place

Hilton and Swann will be forever remembered (by most) as the 2 people who almost destroyed Scunthorpe United , I personally can’t stand either!

No to Butler for me, supposedly training the set pieces and that’s one of our weakest areas!!
Get Crosby in…. Would he really be that expensive until the end of the season?
For him it’s the chance to get a promotion on his CV then sit down in the summer to see what can be agreed.
This job will be massively appealing to a lot of out of work managers!!

If we lose Tuesday and Chorley win then they are 3 points behind with a game in hand, if Chester also win they move just 2 points behind us.
Massive mistake from the board allowing Jimmy to stay in charge this long…. I’ve not been convinced by him at all.
I didn’t want him in the first place but I was willing to get behind him.
However, apart from a few big wins (against poor poor opponents) it’s been side ways, backwards, slow and predictable ALL season… the difference now is teams have all figured us out and there’s no fear playing us anymore because they know we are not very good.
I’ve said all along failing to win the league is unacceptable and should cost him his job, the majority who still believe in him think second is nailed on and that’s apparently good enough… well (A) it’s not good enough and (B) we are looking likely to throw that away too.
Such a shame because everything was/is there for the club to reemerge and prosper but another season at this level could dismantle a lot of the good work!

It’s promotion or failure and it’s as simple as that!!

If it’s failure he has to go and we need to find an appointment that galvanises the community to keep paying football league prices to watch football at an amateur (part time) league

    2 x Danny’s
    Law
    Roberts
    Wilson

Let’s say one’s injury and one’s suspended… that means nothing off the bench!!!

Midfield packed with good players and a bit of magic yet the way we play limits them going forwards and offers no protection to what is probably our best back 5 in years.
Jimmy loves the club that’s absolutely clear to see and we’ve taken to him!
However, if the off field bits get sorted (I desperately hope they do) the attention really will turn on performances and result’s.
This team is full time in a league where most are not.
It’s a squad made up of players who could/should all be playing at least one level above.
Yet we’re pretty average , easy to break down and predictable going forward.
There’s been 2 ‘Jimmy ball’ games where something clicked or the opposition we’re just awful… apart from that we’ve not done a lot.

I think if we’re all really honest we’ve not been that good all season.
We have a very very good squad but the set up and game plans are way too cautious, we need to go at teams, use the width of the pitch, increase the pace and the penetration.
The players seem to play in such tight pockets as well, let’s create space and get teams chasing us.
2 performances aside we have limped to victories or relied on brilliance from one of our gems… Butterfield!!!
I don’t expect Beestin or Clunan to make a major difference tbh.
Cal Roberts fully fit could be a game changer but only if we start actually attacking teams with intent.

    Really enjoyed today.
GP was absolutely rocking and credit to the Scarborough fans too who were brilliant!!

My only criticism is I’d love us to have more width and there’s still another level of pace in attack we are missing.

Saying that, We are a very very good team for the level.
I may owe Jimmy an apology at the end of the season, maybe I got him wrong.
    Time will tell

I agree the pitch was no where near first game of the season standard.

I thought some of the play today was good but there’s no penetration to what we are doing, we look toothless when we get in front of goal.
So much over passing and going backwards with no cutting edge.

4-3-3 Absolutely no chance, I can’t remember the front 3 attacking together to create a goal scoring opportunity once!

Peterborough sports are poor but they are effective lumps and always looked more likely to score even with very little possession.

    My final thought…
Butterfield is way too good for this league!!
We will be in the s!*t if he goes

    Awful game
    4-3-3 apparently…. I can’t see it!
    No width
Out muscled and dragged into a huff ball game with zero quality
Subs changed the game, Butterfield was majestic!!

He is a shit manager, it was obvious last season he’s got zero idea!!

Backed by the chairman and fans yet he got us playing worse and there was never any indication of a playing style or tactical know how!

Just have to see how much damage leaving him in charge does to our chances this season… surely we need to bounce straight back with the investment into the playing squad!!??

    100% behind the Bru boys!!!

They’ve been here years trying to do the best they can for the fans by providing us with a message board and loads of brilliant content through podcasts.

I don’t trust Swann at all and I’m fearful of Hilton as his replacement.
For Hilton to publicly go after the Bru team in the way he did was poor.

Butterfield will be staying‘As it stands’

He’s ‘Seemingly impressed’ with the ambition shown

Quotes from the Butterfield update… I still expect him to be going at some point.
I cant believe I’m saying this as he was one of the standout players for me last season and on his day he is outstanding but he’s a luxury player we probably don’t really need.
Wilson is good news as long as he genuinely wants to fight for the badge and work hard.
Ogle must be retained, he’s probably our best player.
