Not posted for a long time but couldnt resist with this one. Im glad the board have made the right decision and have got rid now. Fair play to jimmy he seemed like a decent guy and you could see how much the club meant to him so i wish him well. Personally id bring neil bishop in and keep butler as number two. Bish did well at gainsborough and was very unlucky not to get them promoted. He’s a motivator and would get more out of these players i feel. I still cant believe how easy we handed it to boston last week by playing barrows and beestin down the left hand side and summed up how we have fell short in the end. Up the iron

DONT GET TO EXCITED YET! Swanny once again trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes by “stepping down” but lee turnbull is being put in the firing line now. I like turnbull alot hes passionate about the club and should have always been our scout but i fear now this is just another similar move to what elliot was put into. Dont be fooled because fenty did this at the cods as well. Until i see a statement saying he has SOLD the club then we are still staring up shit street.

Simon is blaming the regime. Sorry but Simon is not the only one blaming the regime.
    Most of the fans are.
I wish alot of ex managers would speak honesty about the regime.
Not many have come forward. Sorry no one as come forward.

You only have to listen to jem karacans interview after last season and i know bish is not a big fan of the regime either. It makes you wonder who actually does want to be part of the club at all because its clear to see that everyone has had enough of this ongoing shit show now.

Well done for seeing sense simon and thankyou for trying to give our club a glimmer of hope with your efforts. You deserve far better and i can only hope/wish that you could put a consortium together to give us our club back.

I fully agree and im surprised as a fan base nothing has really been done so far. Look at clubs like oldham and southend with fans showing some togetherness to stand up to another clown ruining their football club. Its about time and long over due we all stood together and show that enough is enough. We are another bury fc in the making and our club is rotten to core! I hope something can be seriously arranged because we are losing our football club from right under our noses and its took the absolute piss. Im fuming to say the least and every podcast i hear with swann i feel is another insult to the fans!

    SWANN OUT!

If I remember correctly, initially Swann told us that the ground was transferred to Coolsilk to repay the £11,000,000 gambling debt he amassed chasing his vanity project of being a Championship chairman. This then changed in a later statement to “we did it so we could gain investment for the development projects, and when complete would be transferred back into club ownership.”.

As we’re not seeing any news or action in the way of investment / development it would appear to me that Swann has zero intention of actually following through on the second statement, thus the transfer of ownership is nothing more than a land grab (IMO).

We have to also consider the fact that despite the severe cost cutting measures, the club is likely running at a loss again this season, and will likely do the same again next season. If the losses continue unabated there will be a time in the not so distant future where the creditors will come knocking for their money, and if the club is unable to pay, Scunthorpe United could be forced into insolvency. If / when that happens Coolsilk / Mr Swann will be left with the stadium and surrounding land, and with no football club to drain his resources,he would be free to develop the land in whatever way he sees fit.

In short, I fear we a royally screwed.

Sadly were another bury fc its just a matter of time.

This is just another move to TRY get fans back onside the same reason elliot was brought back in. Until swann has gone im not interested and as for that podcast they just get worse listening to the same old excuses and sorry matt i know you have to be careful not to upset him but i thought you were to soft at times but i appreciate you trying to get some sort of answers. When will he relise its not covid thats stopped fans coming back its him! We have turned into the laughing stock of the efl!

Is SWANN trying to have a laugh at supporters expense!!!! He didn’t want to survive in the football league in my opinion. Why do you think we have been playing the sixteen year old, sold Loft with no fit replacement, let Hyppolyte go and Green. Weird team formations and then yesterday sold Manny. Simon Elliott was on the radio before the match yesterday and said it wouldn’t have made any sense paying the
loan off as it will be wiped off in June. That’s SWANN talking. He’s just a SWANN front man to take the heat off SWANN. They obviously don’t value football league status whatsoever. Then Elliott said we will have an increased budget next season. Who on earth believes that. SEASON TICKETS they’re certainly having a laugh alright!!!!

This is why simon elliot was brought back into the club for someone else to sit and take the crap for people at the top who are ruining the club. I think its an utter pisstake they are advertising season tickets i personally wouldnt go if they were free! The heart and soul has been completely stripped from the club and its so sad because we built up a reputation as a well run, well respected club with fans who couldnt wait to go football on a tuesday/saturday to see a team who always gave everything. I will always be grateful for steve wharton for keeping a steady ship and brought us the good exciting times along with the best memories. Its heartbreaking what swann has done and while he is still at the club i wont be stepping foot in the sinking sands stadium and id like to think others will do the same. We need him out of our club its simple as that!

I did say after the rotherham playoffs defeat the club would go to pot and its sadly gone that way. Swann needs to go now enough damage has been done and the fans who love this once proud club are suffering. Its an absolute embarrassment and we are simply a laughing stock. I wouldnt be surprised if we drop again next season either because it will only get worse while swann has hold of our club. SWANN OUT!

The whole thing has got panic stations all over it and quite frankly i think we will just fall short and live to regret not acting quicker along with signing utter crap at the start of the season. The likes of grant and feeney will try give us a glimmer of hope but ultimately the damage has been done over the last 3 or 4 years.

We need our club back before this mess gets even worse! Come on swanny do the right thing! We were once a proud little club who bigger clubs had nothing but good things to say about us but now we are a laughing stock on a complete downward spiral into non league.

Same old dross today im just glad i didnt waste more money watching it. When will people relise things are only going to get worse under these clowns who are ripping the club apart? I think signing an experienced keeper was a must i personally would have got joe murphy back for another year or two hes someone who commands the back four. A right back is needed because pugh is just another hornshaw i feel but yet the club see different somehow then even play him out of position. We also need a pacey winger and a poacher type of striker who can play off loft. Teams dont have to come and work hard for the 3 points we make it so easy for them. Swindon have quality where it counts and in anthony grant and jack payne they are far better than our shambles.

As I’ve said before the thought of SUFC fans protesting makes me shudder. Total disrespect to the English Football Pyramid and the other 23 teams in league 2.

Since when have SUFC been that club that demands it should never struggle in whatever league it plays in.

We’ve had bad times in the past and we’ll have bad times again in the future. That’s football.

    Disgusting idea.

The only disgusting thing is uptheiron99 is that your still on here praising this chairman who is trying to pull the wool over the fans eyes and mugs like you feel like he is some saviour. Personally id rather start again in non league if need be with people who actually care about this football club and who wont rip it apart. Look how we were run before we were one of the best run clubs who players WANTED to come play for and give everything for this club now we are the total opposite. Fans who care for this club like they say they do actually need to make it known its OUR club and not someones experiment. SWANN OUT!

Hurst went because he upset the apple cart and said what he felt was right…it was a case of dont like it then lump it. We know who has control of everything and we will only sink further while these are still running the club. The fans dont deserve it then they had the nerve to sell season tickets. Its all take take take and im glad others are seeing it now. The managers we have had have all had success elsewhere but they come here and they hit a dead end then end up getting the boot…i wonder why!

Signs of desperation and a swanny tactic to try keep a few clappers still on side…personally i would have brought joe murphy back in the summer and id like to think we could sign an experienced leader at the back…peter clarke who has just been released by fleetwood would be my prefered choice or even take a look at jack hobbs who is another free agent. We need a spine and some leadership instead of kids who arent prepared to roll sleeves up.

Im so glad i decided to give that horror show a miss and went to barton instead to watch them against bottesford. These little non league clubs look after supporters better than our club and i thoroughly enjoyed it and you can even stand/sit and have a beer or two while watching the game. Swann needs to go he’s ruining our club and all the success that has been built up before he got his claws into the club. This isnt scunthorpe united anymore sadly its swann united/sinking sands united and he appoints puppets who are yes men. Cox’ post match interview summed it up, the guy is mr nice guy who doesnt know his arse from his elbow and sadly should have stayed with ardley at notts. I for one wont be bothering again until swann goes because we are being ripped apart and its only a matter of time before its dover on a tuesday night.

Our club is well and truly destroyed and a few of us saw it coming a few years ago and now just maybe the other lot might start to see abit of sense of whats been going on. Time for the fat controller to let us have our club back before its to late.

Pretty sure Peter has said the ‘new model’ makes the team self sufficient with his family not needing to put money in (take Covid away)
So not sure we need him once we are free of this awful pandemic.
I was always a much happier iron fan under the previous owner and that included when the team struggled!!
The last few years have been truly disgusting!!
I miss the feeling/craving of the next match.
Sadly for me and many, many, many others over a period of time the crap football and lacklustre eleven players playing for SUFC each game has left me excited about something else on a match day.
In my opinion out club is in a real mess, a change of ownership is our only way out.
And I don’t know who that is so don’t ask the obvious!
All I know is under Swann we’ve achieved next to nothing and have massively regressed!!!

Spot on! Thats exactly how i’ve felt for a long time, i used to love going to gp and most away games because you knew you were going to be entertained and we had a club who always wanted to punch above our weight along with a chairman who looked after every player and member of staff. You only have to listen to ex players like hayesy who gave us an insight to the relationship between the players and chairman…is there any of that now? Not a chance…just egos flying about.

I have said it before its swanny whos destroying our football club. The clown clearly thinks you can cut corners in these leagues and we are getting found out consistantly…cox is just another string puppet who is going to do as he’s told. Shambles from front to back and the veg munchers were taking the piss enjoying the day out. Embarrassing once again!

What do you know that we don’t? Do you have any proof at all that Swann is involved in team selection and/or tactics?

    Thought not…..

Didnt bish put something on twitter not so long ago hinting that managers weren’t being allowed to do their job…doesnt take a genius to work out where the main problem lies, obviously theres still a few that are deluded and that swann is doing a fantastic job. Vanarama national league here we come im affraid the writing has been on the wall for a couple of years and no one running the club has the slightest clue in how to stop the consistant shambles.
