I hope the club manage to get the game on. After a positive result the other day, the last thing we need is to lose momentum and lose a Saturday attendance. It would be good to get an update from them today regarding their expectations.
Hopefully they cover the pitch later?
The Iron Trust did a great thing in ensuring the future of GP by making it a Community Asset.
But with the official supporters club and/or unity group, What do they actually do?
These groups should be more proactive and once or twice a season should be organising special events on a matchday for supporters.
Whether it’s fundraising for displays/flags/banners in the ground (allowing supporters to vote on designs), organising themed away-days, retro-shirt days, etc.
For as long as I can remember it all seems really lazy, unorganised and quite a closed-off circle which defeats the purpose.
Think outside the box and do something worthwhile that would encourage all supporters to engage with the groups.
And stop breaking away in to smaller groups, it really defeats the purpose!!
Any fundraising the club needs should be set up and managed solely by them, with an explanation as to what it’s going towards.
ie, the pitch is a mess. If they need to fundraise to help sort it, then I’m happy to donate.
Similarly if they needed some extra funds to continue the renovation of GP (looks great but it would be nice if the outside of the Mortz stand was done up).
The rumours of all this fundraising going towards other things is very suspicious.
Finally, personal observation but posting on FB under the wife’s account is very bizarre. As is sharing the same post multiple times. Please stop.

He’s not worth a second more of our time. Hilton might be the one pulling the trigger but only after years of torture from Swann.

IB – It sounds like the club are doing the best to repair the damage. 80% of their way through clearing 600 debts is good going all things considered.

Best stand in world football… okay maybe not quite but how good was it tonight!

Isn’t that the point Siderite?
The club is on a path to recovery after years of neglect and mismanagement from the previous regime. It’s quite obvious not everything is rosy but it’s going to take time to fix a lot of this.
Rumours are posted to spread negativity which we‘ve had enough of over the last few years. I will judge the club based on facts and official statements (either from the club or genuine sources).
I’ve not seen him shirk a question on that FB group, so why not ask him there?

One day people will remember what supporting a football team actually means.

Yeah they have commentary, easiest way is to listen online.

Hilton described the rumour as “nonsense” on Facebook.
That post reads like Deerey is backtracking. I doubt you’ll get an answer that makes any sense.

Completely agree Iron-awe.
You are still to blame for this mess, you should never have been allowed to take Glanford Park away from the football club.
The whole thing is worrying.

Just been to Glanford Park and the players were out training. No sign of Chapman but there was Foster and another goalkeeper I didn’t recognise.
Mark Samways voted Player of the Season 94–95.
Least if Rory comes back we know he wants to be here for the fight.. not sure we can say the same about Dewhurst?
Thought it was crying out for a change of formation at half time, for me we needed an extra body in midfield to help Beestin & Butterfield. Pugh on for Young would have sorted that.
Would have been good to hear the reason why O’Malley was benched. Ogle was caught out all over the place in the 1st half.
Carver is potentially our worst ever signing, some achievement!
Thanks for the scoreboard Roj, great gesture.

Agree with the protests but they really need to stop chucking bottles on to the pitch, especially when they are directed at players.
One hit Beestin on the hand yesterday, who was visibly in pain and annoyed by it.

Confirmed at half time on Humberside that he’s gone.
It is a strange post though, we’re bottom of the National League and our fans representative has nothing to say?
At the very least he should be acknowledging the fans who do have things to say and asking for their opinions.
If he has nothing to say now, when will he? At the point where there is no coming back? I hope he doesn’t look back and regret doing nothing.

Goes to show it doesn’t really matter what league you’re in, or who you’re playing against… if the club provide entertainment on & off the pitch, the fans will respond.
Only downside was the extremely slow service in the iron bar all afternoon. Regarding half time drinks, can’t they pour a load of pints ready for the rush?
Credit to everyone at SUFC for today, it might take effort but the reward is worth it.
This preview has us down for relegation!

August 5, 2022 at 9:13 am in reply to: Will Today be the day for the takeover to go through ? #242064I would think you do a fit & proper person test fairly early in the process, as you wouldn’t want to go through months of effort just to find they fail?
But I genuinely don’t know.

I do find it strange that a fan representative has protected tweets so fans can’t read them!!
What does it actually say?

Sounds promising and shows that he isn’t planning on staying around, just have to hope it goes okay.

I think all fans have moved on from the events of last season, however we do need to see something from him aside from putting in a “good shift”.
The reason he wasn’t on the end of any of those crosses yesterday is because he lacks movement in the box. If he improves on that and finds himself in the right positions, you’d think he should have the quality to finish a few.
My only concern is that if he doesn’t score in the first few games, will his head drop like last season?

It isn’t SVS anymore – all the signage has gone.

Wootton was also trying to get in a League 1 side and did nothing whilst on loan at other clubs.
Great that he’s scoring goals now but we gave him plenty of years to prove himself.
Some players are late bloomers, you can’t keep players forever “just incase”.
