Les has a point though. We are lightweight in the midfield far too easily knocked of the ball.
If we’d had that Nixon in Centre midfield with clunan,Robert’s and co off him we’d be some force.
Nixon ran the midfield and for a big bloke had some decent footworkOgle was a better defender than barrows in my opinion.
It proved my point yesterday as that ball should have never made the penalty box.
Poor defending all round to score from that close but player shouldn’t have got a cross over.Strange game tbh, first 10 minutes thought Warrington were in for a hiding after that initial spell it was poor.
Kicking into home end first half changed the mentality even as a supporter I groaned and knew it was going to be a dull. How the ref let there keeper waste what felt like quarter of the game to take goal kicks is beyond me and must admit it’s pretty poor showing seeing a keeper disappear into the stand to recover a ball too.
As someone Away pointed out the midfield is too lightweight with Nixon knocking everyone off the ball.
Thought Denton played okay bar from not being able to control the ball near the end!! Jeez.
Roberts MOM??? Really!!
Piss poor defending for the goal from allowing the cross in the first place to allowing the player to score from a cross at such close range.Warrington had a plan, stuck to it.
Are we actually capable of this perfect performance? Not sure we are tbh. Passing is awful.

Watched on National TV due to being away.
Professional performance from the bench and on the pitch.
The lads are putting shifts in for each other.
First half a little tame but probably probing like a boxing bout. 2nd half dominated until we took the foot off the gas.
Result never in doubt.Well done UTI
Yes definitely the bargain bucket we are delving in. Buts that’s where we are.
AB isn’t my choice at all but hope he does well.
Can we afford to stay in this division beyond this season?1 user thanked author for this post.
Probably frustration at the mystery signing Duffus.
Wonder what Beagrie is upto now?
Think he lives/d in HarrogateMassive effort by the club with the making of the videos. They are excellent.
Hopefully the supporters put the effort in tooI don’t think you can question the ‘Effort’ of the supporters or all the local businesses for what they they have donated and/or done. This now in the hands of the Manager and Players.
Wasn’t questioning anyone and didn’t even mention any local businesses!!
The Effort was all round from buying season tickets, turning out in numbers to support the club and the scallys to behave.
Massive effort by the club with the making of the videos. They are excellent.
Hopefully the supporters put the effort in too3 users thanked author for this post.
Spain showed all how the game should be played to aplomb.
Our midfield was terrible. Play to not lose is not the way to go against a dominant team.
England had the easy street route to the final. Lucky to be there the way they played in the run up.3 users thanked author for this post.
Was I right in reading there will be the full length version video due out in the coming weeks?
That was so good it brought a lump to my throat as I’m sure many others.
The club are going to great lengths to get us off our knees.
Well done to all involved1 user thanked author for this post.
Given we needed to reduce the wage bill but have only lost Elliott and Butterfield from the “higher” earners gang this was inevitable.
We should prepare for the keeper and right back to be more Lidl and Aldi than M&S or Waitrose.
If we have any spare cash left to speculate with I would prefer it spent in the wide positions. History suggests Roberts and Law won’t manage 40 games between them.
Yup I’m with MK here what are we expecting at B&M.
Alright some not being over enthusiastic about the signings but this is as good as it gets.
The scraps get used to it.I’d of rather given a couple of the signing on wages and given it to keep butterfield. That’s my opinion.
Just listened to the interview. Comes across excellent hopefully that will go a long way to install a good game plan with more than A..
Correct staff as he stated is priority.A decent number 2. generally makes a huge difference too.
Excited I’m not overly But! Nor would we have been if JD had been given the gig for longer.
UTI.

Wish Andy Butler all the best and hopefully he’s learnt absolutely nothing on how to set up from this last season or two. Just do the opposite Andy.
Slightly underwhelming yes. Any worse hopefully not.
Jacob butterfield no.2 would be a complement.3 users thanked author for this post.
Doesn’t matter what the poll says.
He’s here for the start of next season.
As I’ve previously stated, he wouldn’t be my choice to lead us next season.Fair play AWG. Exposed SNOT as a bullshitter.
As if we didn’t know already
Brilliant what an absolutely Top Hat
With all that was going on at the club at board level took majority of our interest. I think if we’d had not had that issue JD would have been under a lot more pressure from the supporters post Christmas due to the towel more or less getting thrown in.
As for fickle moaning supporters should we all go away quietly and all agree it was a good season with fast entertaining football and we were unlucky to go out on penalties?
We weren’t unlucky to go out on penalties we were just dammed awful last week and should be watching a match this weekend and still can’t believe we aren’t.Top marks to Michelle/Board for grasping them where it hurts and pulling the club back on an even keel.
Team was at times as about much use as a canoe with a handbrake as we are on a slight nautical theme.
We stopped sinking the holes are plugged and we are slowly bailing out the water.
Does the plank need overboarding?

There’s ones that have
There’s that pretend to haveMY stance is exactly that!
Same with Rene it’s His stance.
And everyone else’s stance.1 user thanked author for this post.
Saturday was so disappointing in that the team or tactics was so disjointed it was so blatant for even the casual supporter.
I honestly counted a few times to see if we had 11 on the pitch.
We looked completely clueless and non directional.
Surely a season or so with the same manager that should not happen.I want to spend my money and support Michelle.
But entertainment is the game.Saturday was totally how to not introduce your casual supporter to continue coming
It was miles off targetIt is a hard stance from Rene but everyone has their own thoughts.
But we go to get entertained!
Didn’t hear many folk stating that what was served on Saturday as entertainment.
Just like a restaurant serves up poor food do you still go?2 users thanked author for this post.
I will see how they get on.
I’m fortunate with that work keeps me away so I pick and choose.
I support the club/Michelle but I won’t be watching that crap that was served up at the weekend by poor skills mindset. He will get kept on due to the aggravation he endured during the season destabilising the team and it made a contribution to the performances.
Not what I want to hear!!!
Within work it gets tiresome ahh they are a nice person quotes. But can he do his job.
Well no but he brings something different!
And that’s what ?Can see this being the scenario at AA.
If I don’t perform in my role the company loses money and I get my P45.
It’s no different or shouldn’t be.The feel good factor at the club was back before the weekend. Can you see it being there come 6 games into the season and we’ve taken 5 points and JD is still at the helm.
For sure there won’t be 3k turning up1 user thanked author for this post.
“A proud achievement” and “amazing support” – Andy Crosby on spell as Port Vale manager
From a few comments I read seemed he was liked.
Look nothing is a given in football but considering the quality of the squad based on a massive budget compared to the rest of the divisions clubs and the fact plenty on here and in the ground on match day have stated we should have comfortably won the title then JD has to be moved on. Yes he’s a really nice guy and genuinely loves and wants the best for this football club but he’s way short on tactical nous for getting the best out of these players in this division, he’s been out thought too many times by better manager’s with poorer squads and in the best interests of this football club going forward he has to leave. Sorry Jimmy, nice guy with a great heart but you are not good enough for this football club.
Unfortunately I don’t agree with you on the quality of the squad. I don’t see barely any quality bar half a teams worth.
We looked very mediocre yesterday. The bench was an embarrassment1 user thanked author for this post.
Obviously our theatricals have not gone un-noticed.
Beestin was a penalty.
DW yes looked like he got a shove but he spends more time diving around and not actually doing anything constructive there’s no wonder ref’s have cottoned on to his behaviour.Shit ref’s to top it off. Unfortunately this is the standard we will continue to receive. Get used to it.
I thought about Crosser too.
We looked a poor team yesterday.
Seemed to be only Clunan in midfield.
Left side was totally non existent.
Beestin completely wasted on the left.
Bench was truly awful compared to there’s.Best team won.
Totally Agree MKI.
I’d lost the love with the Iron with the total incompetence by the previous owners.
The ship has been steadied albeit still much work to do.
Unfortunately stuck with the team and management from before. The fan base is there if we could just ever get the monkey off the back in front of a decent crowd.
Yesterday was still the remnants of past on the pitch and in the dugout. I do hope Michelle removes those remnants.
I’ve never bought a season ticket since 1977 when I started supporting and I’m really considering buying two even though I won’t be able to make 50% of the games. Just to help the New owners and club.
So not a new low just a good point to shut the curtains and realise it will get better.UTI
