One other point i found confusing was at the end he said the accounts hadnt been filed because his accountant hadnt had chance to look at the accounts yet ,and that Peter Swanns accountants had been auditing them -surely they have done their due dilegence on the books or am I interpreting it wrong ?

Found the point about loans interesting : 15-25 players seems an awful lot to loan out in a season (thats how it came accross ,what he wants to do ) with a first team squad and 15-25 youngsters you would be carrying a 30-40 man squad , although he said the clubs who loan them will subsidise the wages of these younger players ; wouldnt decent level academy players on relatively decent money?

Crikey league champ or league 1 is impossible now for clubs like Scunthorpe ,Grimsby and lincoln unless you are going to throw tons of money at it my aspirations are top end league 2 with the odd season in league 1 now .But thats because the games gone mad

Crikey this reads like when our esteemed former leader Mr Fenty used to put his friends and family on the fishy to set their regulars straight on things

Kieran Maguire’s a good follow normally posting things backed up by facts -Mr Hilton got a little prickly with him a few weeks ago when a questioned a couple of things about the supporter / ground scheme and the players allegedly being paid late last month .

Wouldnt you just buy the club straight away though if you had the ready capital ?

I dont even know what that process entails , its a gray area -does proof off funds mean you literally just have the assets to cover the costs and to acquire the land ,club and stadium but do not necessarily have to use that money to do those things once you have control of the club on that premise ?

Or does the person /people have to gaurantee they will buy the land, stadium etc ?

Its a wider question really on football clubs in general ,as i dont know the answer to the answer .

Listened to the new podcast ,they seem concerned .

I didnt realise Swann still has hold of the club .
From my basic understanding it seems like you need to shift nearly 2000 of the £2k tickets otherwise the future of the club is in the balance again .

Will you be able to shift them ?
    Seems a big outlay

1.2mil made so quite a good day/run . Brighton were too good for us but we didnt do too badly 14 games with nothing to play for will be a bit of a come down now .

What was with the screwed up paper throwing Rich?

Honestly havent got a clue why they were doing that it was all over- was the worst time to one of our only attacks of the game .
Maybe if it had been toilet roll before kick off for the players ,it would have been understandable with the quality of the Brighton team .

What are iron fans thoughts on him so far ?

IMO … its still very fresh in my mind that Mr Hilton came in bought the club, got rid of Swan and immediately paid off its debts for these things alone he gets my thumbs up …however on the footballing side of things again IMO he was too hasty in appointing the new manger and a raft of signings in a gamble that hasnt paid off and doesnt look like it will. Some of the newbies have already gone others rarely feature and expecting a new manger to get a new group to gel in any sort of quick time was a tall order therefore i have sightly negative thoughts re how things have been managed that way.

With regard to the GP ground 1899 share scheme .. the jury is still out as it appears it was still listed as in the Coolsilk name unless that has changed recently.

Very sad what has happened at the club .. the county needs all its clubs to be in the EFL creating more local derbies but let the Cods with short memories on the fishy forum have their fun ..

    SCUNNY WILL BE BACK

I think the fishies were mixed ,a lot seemed to get irked with the Van Veen celebrations ,but i think the majority unlike swann didnt want the club to go .

You are right though ,as I have said on here before Lincolnshire needs a strong Scunthorpe Utd – its the second largest county in the Country and now only has 2 league teams ; hopefully the rebirth starts soon and you are upwardly mobile again soon .

As for Hilton I dont really know yet I would like him on the podcast would give that a listen ,the Swann ones were always a cracking listen tbf they really knew how to push his buttons.

Listened to the Jon Parkin one on here the other day to ,a good listen as i like the Undr The Cosh podcast he does .

    T’internet suggests that Mr Hilton’s wealth is between $1m and $5m (£830,000 to £4.1m)

Is that enough cash to buy, restructure, develop and run a football club? Let alone to bring quality players in.

How much do you need to spend to get back to the EFL?

Stockport & Wrexham have thrown big money at it these last 2 seasons.

It’s going to take a lot more than $5m to get us back to the EFL.

    I dont know
Wrexham , County ,Chesterfield will surely get out and then it will be a more even league without teams throwing silly money at it (hopefully )

I dont expect many clubs are bankrolled in NLN so your attendances alone will put you up there alone surely? Given that the highest average att down there is 2k

My son has severe autism and developmental delay so I am more sensitive to things like that when it comes to people mocking others with disabilities but I didnt find that the tweet crossed the line whatsoever . You can knock Katie price for a lot of things but from from I have seen she is a wonderful mum to that lad .

It was a great night , one of those up there with the others.Unlike the glory clubs these moments are few and far between for clubs like ours which make all the more special .

Hopefully your new manager and owner are the right sort and you get these days again .

Ohh on another not i forgot about the prediction league was determined to do it right through ,but must have stopped after about a month same with those fantasy leagues start out well and thrn forget or lose interest must be rock bottom .

In the next few years the NL will surely get weaker to as the big spenders will get out , i expect mostcof the clubs will want to see the back of Wrexham ,Chesterfield and Notts then it will be a more equal league .

League 2 is silly now (thats the one thing i agree with Swann about ) the amount clubs are throwing around on wages isnt sustainable ; the reality is we have a bottom half budget working to the sustainable model even though we are one of the best supported .And as for league 1 its a mini champ now.

Listened to the interview sounds a good guy ,reading betweem the lines he will build the flats proberbly ? But for the long term gain of Scunthorpe Utd and wants to make the club self sustainable .
Seems like the Ilkeston fans rate him extremely highly .

I guess now you move on and this season surely its imperative you stay in the NL , gain some strength and then consolidate.

Its such a tough league and with the way hes talking wont be throwing daft money at it so getting back in the league might take some time .

But at least the iron were saved !

Off point a bit -but what happens with the money those lads put in for the wages last month ?
Is it just a donation ?

If the club does go seems unfair on them to lose their cash when they were trying to save the club and are massive fans .

Havent posted for a while but been keeping up to date ,fear that Swanns regular threats in the podcasts that ‘the club goes ‘ were not even a bluff but might become reality .

Hardy sounds like another liability to so not sure whats best or options for your club now.

I originally just started listening to the podcasts as Swann came accross as a parody /comedy character like Fenty did .But obviously now things have gone too far .

Hope the iron are saved and in good hands ,i thought the local lads seemed like they would have been ideal so a shame that cant be done .

You are definitely competitive so far I feared Swann would put 14/15 year old in at the start of the season .Seems a very tight league again this year how did Wrexham play style wise ?they just launched it and used long throws last season even with a league 1 budget or whatever it is wondered if they try to pass it more now .

What are iron fans thoughts on the NL in general better or worse standard than you expected ?

Tbf Fenty penny pinched and told us we were punching above our weight if we finished 6th and getting 5k in the NL, then wanted to bring in a convicted fraudster and use him to build a new training with his funds.

He was found out and 2 guys with money who wanted to invest in the club took over( and who are both lifelong fans)

There must be some people who support you who want to help/save the club with some ££?

Or is he just that awkward?

Why would you lose money though as he says it’s ‘basics economics’ but you are already getting more than enough through the gates to sustain NL surely its top half in the attendance league so his economics must be off

They are similar in many regards but I am starting to think Swann is worse tbf.

I have put a few comments on here and I do love town but I know many who like me find it slightly amusing but don’t actually want Scunthorpe Utd to fall into the abyss and want to club to get back to being a proper club.

I listened to the Lincoln City chairman earlier in an interview and you can just tell he’s a top guy with integrity who wants the best for the club, they have done well and will continue to like we will.

I want the same for Scunthorpe Utd you deserve it transparent owners who have the best interests of the town and club at heart because at the end of the day its a massive part of our communities and an institution of pride and love.

I don’t know what Swanns agenda was /is but I just hope things haven’t gone too far as to where Scunthorpe Utd have to reform /fold it would be another travesty to add too real old proper traditional football clubs much the same as :Bury, Macclesfield, Stockport, Darlington, Chester, York and countless others.

We could have gone much the same way as those, I genuinely wish you come out the other side.

He said in that last podcast that it’s ‘Lee running it day to day’ and he has nothing to do with it apart from writing the cheques for the budget and that’s there’s ‘no point in abusing me because I’m not there and not involved’ contradictions aplenty

Surely getting shot of Hurst was Swanns terminal mistake?

He goes on in them podcasts about people spouting lies, but he must be the one telling porkies for sure because he said he had no involvement anymore and that it’s Turnbull in charge yet he’s now talking to Hill all the time.

I would be very worried, Hills record is atrocious but it makes me wonder whether putting him in was part of Swanns larger more sinister plan.

Thought you looked quite good managed to watch the second half pub in Clee had it on. Its obvious the budget has gone on a decent first 11 but after that pretty weak so how you do will be dependant on injuries i guess, if you can keep Butterfield fit maybe play offs or at least top half. Not sure how you got him but I suppose it was a bit like Fox for us far too good for that level but big past injury issues – they only drop down to NL if either injury prone, lazy or mentally weak(if they have the ability) or are just NL cloggers

His attitude is decent tbf, Hurst wouldn’t take a slacker and he would just be dropped (not even sure if he has the op he will even play for us much more anyway tbh) what sort of crowd are you expecting at the GP tomorrow? Will try and watch it after our game, hoping somewhere is showing it rather than the daft Epl if can get in somewhere in time after our game

Won’t that money effectively go to Swann though? Maybe an extra flat on the development, or another slip road?
