I am skeptical of Mr Hilton , but from a balanced perspective he delivered the accounts so I would say that’s a tick in the box .

Now Iron fans need clarity over the ground situation sooner rather than later , to avoid yet more uncertainty and divide.

Time for Mr Hilton and Mr Swann to realise the fans and the club are far more important than them, legals and egos .

The site is very good , always had good football conversation with you lot even if I am a ‘rival’ fan and do feel for the lads who run it as they are fans of your club and must be hurting with their loyalty being questioned – they no doubt do the pod and run this in their own free time, presumably for nothing snd deserve better (respect if not agreement). Being described as ‘vermin’ shows a lack of class on Hilton’s part but he does even in his brief tenure seem to have a way with words .

Hilton & Swann are people that don’t even support your club yet are causing division and distraction when what is really needed is a clear plan & unity (are Eliott & Sharp still on the radar?)

I hope things get sorted I really do , I will always be an iron bru even if I am a cod .

You just have to listen to those interviews on here with Swann to answer the original question . He was challenged far more than Hilton has ever been so far by them (no disrespect but the Iron Hour one with him was very nicey nicey ) .

I would be more interested to know if Hilton did get in touch with them about coming on .

I have seen a few say go and support Hull or us , that’s not your team why would you ?

It’s still all up in the air isn’t it with no clear ending/outcome – if you do stay at GP , then what ?

I was listening to an interview with a Wigan podcast the other day and they have been ruined,Southend still on the edge ; Reading on the fringe of going by the sounds of it .

Fleetwood (even though many will say not a traditional club ) probably will go now , with their debt and former chairman been a wrong un.

It’s really bad how the game has gone whatever way you look at it . Just need to hope Hilton does come through ,and wants the best for The Iron ; trouble is hoping and knowing are two different things .

You just have to hope I guess .

It is strange they are openly advertising ,mainly because Hilton said earlier on that he was ‘doing it all himself ‘ maybe that was okay at Ilkeston with a modest amount of support required in the boardroom but at a larger operation more support is required .

They did touch on a point though on the podcast , will the new shareholder/s have to make an initial investment or is it more of a recruitment of a fan/intellectual capital ?

I think it is him tbf he’s posting a few bits as David White surely no one would go to the trouble of creating a whole account of him with his wife and kids etc that would be bizarre .

I don’t even know how they would regulate it tbh .
This fit and proper person test and proof of funds model obviously is not fit for purpose .

Just look at Wigan – taken over and then not paying staff or player wages a few months later then getting points deducted ,which I am not sure is really a suitable punishment when it’s not changing people not getting paid or particularly punishing the owner .

I am not sure what the answer is .

Exactly I didn’t and I am not too big to admit that, that’s maybe why I care more . I did not realise at the time what a mess we were in – but if it comes to the worst I don’t want Scunthorpe Utd to go and I am pretty sure 99% of Town fans don’t .

He reached out to the one’s that would entertain him .

I don’t like it the lads get abuse , people slandering them ,saying they are on board with Swann or whatever .

They are good guys ,i genuinely believe that and I think Simon Eliott is to (with whatever information he has been drip fed)

A lot of your fans need to wake up ,and that’s from a Grimsby fan who for some reason actually cares about Scunthorpe Utd .

Even though he gets some I would tend to believe whatever SST says to be true (always factual and concise with info & the podcast). Hopefully if it’s the case that you are sharing a ground , eventually a new permanent home can be estsblished .

What happens with all the current ST/membership holders ?
    Surely a refund?

Surely now as well Mr David has to clarify the way forward – saying ‘we will always play at Glanford Park ‘ and ‘we are moving training to Ilkeston & closing the academy ‘ or Max Bell talking nonsense does not cut it .

Either he goes on the ‘non compliant’ podcast ,or goes on Humberside with Ollie and answers some challenging questions.

    You need answers

He seems highly motivated I will give him that . I wonder if he is operating on all potential clubs with ‘Bystander blacklisted owner’ status, Or just this one ?

I would choose Scunthorpe Utd because he might play he would not play here – we have had some great wingers the last couple of years but Hurst ends up getting rid when they don’t graft – literally no point .

Hurst won’t take him , he is a flair player he does not like those .

He might go to NL though someone like York maybe ?

But if you could get him would be a decent signing , he did very well at Boston by all accounts .

Yeah they said within 5-10 years to deliver it so they have got a while until questions are asked . The site is decided , they are just going through the process now and when it’s got the go ahead it will be announced .

Much like your new ground though until it’s delivered i’m not sure when /if it will be time will tell – but if it’s not questions need to be asked .

The conoco stadium was the only realistic hope, when the ‘enabling’ development was actually there – B&Q wanted to go there, planning was secured but various issues came up from residents objecting of having the stadium in the village of Great Coates and by time the various hurdles had been overcome B&Q had decided to put their store in Town instead . Fenty did not start the process for it , but certainly finished it – he scrapped the idea for his dream of another site , Peakes Parkway ; he got Extreme Leisure on board (who had no prior experience of delivering a football stadium project ) and wanted the council to pony up a substantial amount of the capital – his presentation to them was pointing to a spot on the site and saying ‘I want it there ‘ . Another one gone .

Rinse and repeat with Freeman Street

So we are left with the good old BP for the medium to long term .

The old wooden structure is costing 350k this summer to keep it operational .

We were sold the dream ‘5 years away,2 years away,7 years away ‘ by our Alan Partridge wannabe former ‘custodian’ as he liked to call himself (if you want a snapshot of how to decay a club to almost the depths of oblivion over a 20 year period,i suggest go on YouTube and watch the ‘John Fenty stadium tour’ )

I don’t think we are ‘getting moist ‘ over it , we just recognise undeliverable promises – we had them , the excitement and hope it brings ,but for that hope to be dashed over and over again .

Now we have hope ,realistic hope and ambitions not above our station but at least not the comedown from all the broken promises .

I hope Mr Hilton can deliver ,but track record and projects surely cast doubt even from the most ardent Iron fan -retail enabling developments are dead in the water and councils ponying up money for Football Club stadiums long gone – if your new primary funder can pull it off at all ,he will not just be the saviour of Scunthorpe Utd but also a miracle worker .

I can’t believe he’s stating 2 years to deliver what is now confirmed as a purpose built modern stadium with the process not even really started – I mean that sort of project would be 40 or 50 million quid – let’s come back in May 2025 and see if it’s done .

They won’t take those down from The Fishy unless they are proven libellous – after what happened with our previous primary funder ,it’s like Town fans have a vested interest in potential ‘Wrong un’ club owners and seem to be out for them -that it’s Scunthorpe in this case just magnifies this case .it would go off on there big time if it just vanished, I imagine .

That is what the burner accounts are calling anyone,I am not sure what all the burner accounts are about .

Getting abuse and all those fish videos sent to my inbox for asking the simple question of ‘how do you plan to deliver the stadium in 2 years?’ (Which I think is a reasonable question) although mildly amusing to me ,did seem a bit strange .Assuming many others are getting the same .

I think 2 people summarise the situation quite well.
Simon Elliott , who I have a lot of time for on social media and respect .
Jordan Zakarin , who I also have a lot of time for and respect his views .

They are so wide apart in their views of the situation , these are not burner accounts but straight shooters who you assume most of your fanbase take note of when they speak.

So until Swann or Hilton climb above the rock they are under we are left with further divide ,unrest and burner accounts .

I think Paul Skillington on Twitter might be your man ‘Pat’ who was on here , his posts seem very similiar – inviting people to Ilkeston Town etc .

Objectively it’s still up in the air for me about whether Hilton will be good or bad .

He did a cracking job at Ilkeston by all accounts with a club that was on it’s knees , improved infrastructure and left something of future value for when he left .

He’s made some boo boos in the first 6 months which back up the case for people like IB and many others on Twitter , fuelling an obvious agenda against him ; whether that agenda is supstantiated is difficult for anyone level headed to know – just like the people with the ultimate pro Hilton agenda really .

Simon Elliott is obviously scared to his wits end that the club might go, so is trying to keep the peace in sense .

My gut feeling now is that Hilton (if things go his way ) might be able to get through and improve things , but there are probably a lot of obstacles to overcome to get there .

The longer Swann stays quiet , and the longer there is no news on the ground situation ; the more i would get worried though .
