We need tried and tested players for this league.
Bit ironic that players need to be ‘tried and tested’ but the manager steering the ship needn’t be.
Absolutely.

Pointy and Divey are a huge problem for us.
…since we sacked Alexandre unfairly we’ve never recovered
P&D … LOL
GA … still dumbfounding!
He’s got them playing some really good football.
Don’t we all love the underdog?
Go bite their arses!Square pegs, round holes.
Agreed. Someone has to sit in the driving seat whilst the new board consolidates and reorganises the clubs debts & finances.
Better a cheap rather than expensive “someone”I remember we were offered vardy for around 300k after he ran us ragged for Halifax in a friendly, but turned it down due to it being too big a risk !
‘Speculate to accumulate’ ?
Risk… the managers/recruitment have made some right old howlers over the years.
Kenny Milne signed from Falkirk, wasn’t the fee about £400k ?, apparently he was injured when signed, came off in his 2nd game for us, injured for 2 years, made just 5 appearances yet pocketed £5k a week in wages. You couldn’t make it up.

We need tried and tested players for this league.
Really?
Vardy (then aged 22); National League to Championship when Leicester signed him for a non league record of £1M.Holds the record for most consecutive games scored in the Premier League – 11 games.
Premier League Player of the Year & FWA Footballer of the Year in Leicester’s title winning season.
Premier League Golden Boot winner in 2019-20.
The only player in history to play in every round of the FA Cup, from the preliminary stages to the final.
26 England caps, 7 goals.Leicester did well taking a ‘punt’ on Vardy!
I don’t think we can afford him. Would be ideal but it won’t happen.
I wonder what Trinity value him at?
His stock is ever increasing.Harrogate (L2) away for Dec & the boys in R2 of the FA Cup.
Bag a couple in that game and there will be interest from clubs.Oh well.
It was good while it lasted.Posted when they went 3-0 down and decided at that point to just listen to the Iron commentary, as opposed to both.
What a game it turned out to be!
Congratulations Trinity! So, Harrogate away in R2.
Sutton & Muldoon, both ex SUFC are there.
Muldoon, age 35 (T1 Diabetes) scored the only goal of the game in their victory over the mighty Wrexham yesterday.
Trinity have nothing to lose in this fixture and everything to win.
Good luck to them.Luckily we’re still in pole position.
With two thirds of the season still to go, we can recruit, regroup, reorganise and stamp our authority on the league.3 users thanked author for this post.
Halloween did indeed come late this year.
Here’s their MotM.1 user thanked author for this post.
He’ll still be here.
6,464 was the average attendance in the Championship in 2009-10
4,038 was the average attendance in NLN in season 2023-24
On average, an additional 2,426 people watched SUFC playing four divisions higher.
Is it better to be a big fish in a small pond or…
What are the pros & cons of regaining league status?
Would we be sustainable in L2?
Whilst attendances remain at 4,000 is it economically more viable remaining at the level we are?
Do the Board want promotion or are they more than happy to consolidate for a number of years in order to ensure the club is on sound financial foundations?
It’s all a bit of a soap opera
The last time that they scored more than 1 goal in the league other than against Farsley was on 3rd September…
Radcliffe 2-4 Spennymoor.
They’ll likely score their usual goal and we should notch one too
Spennymoor 1-1 Iron
Dec’s Double
Hednesford 4-4 Gainsborough (4-5 pens)
Great composure & confidence. Left foot strike.

The guy really wants it! Right foot strike.
Howe’s Second Goal [ Click Here ]
I think he’ll be playing a few divisions higher shortly. National exposure now.
‘When Saturday Comes’ [Sean Bean]… we need it to be Tuesday.
Shocking Saturday stats!Trinity are ball No 12 in tomorrow evening’s draw.
Today’s brace takes him to 16 for the season so far.
WOW! – what a game that was!
Some scorching goals! How many do you guess they’ll bring?
50? 100?105 away supporters.
Holy Blues Batman!
Trinity come from 3-0 down to finish full-time 3-3 and extra time 4-4. Then win 5-4 on penalties. Some game!
Plus another brace for Howe.
Bloody hell !
I stopped listening when they went 3-0 down!Curzon can go top and three points clear with their two games in hand.
Butler out?
After the recently renegotiated contract.
Won’t happen.1 user thanked author for this post.
Time for a late siesta before reflecting on today’s ‘performance’ perhaps?
Express yourselves!
Oh well.
It was good while it lasted. -
