It’ll be interesting to compare the 12th and the 19th.

    SUFC v Rylands
    GTFC V Rylands

After Tuesday (12th) night’s results, we could after the fixtures taking place on Tuesday 19th be starting this fixture in 5th place.
It looks as if it’ll be a difficult game.

Sadly, my early thoughts are a 2-1 home win.

Will we be out of the top 7 after the games that afternoon?

Still can’t advocate sacking him. New players and change of formation. Surely both will happen now?

In the first half Whitehall closed their keeper down and almost won the ball so why stop doing it. Come on Andy give the crowd what they want fast free flowing attacking football. In your opinion we have got the fittest and best squad in the league so come on prove it. I beg to differ.

I’d imagine they’ve bung him a thick wedge to avoid complications of unfair dismissal and tribunals and the like?

    I absolutely agree.
Cup games, unless you have a Gainsborough Trinity type run are meaningless.

You don’t know you’re going to go on a run in advance of playing the matches, though. Isn’t that part of the beauty of it?

    Dangerman – Ben Hardcastle?
Formation (in this one) – 3-2-3-2
    Strengths – flood forward
Weaknesses – dodgy at the back

Unfair dismissal and a tribunal would be very costly for the club.

A game we could do without really,I just want them to concentrate on the league.
And let it be at Leamington we start.

    I absolutely agree.

    We need to ensure promotion.

Then again, every journey starts with a hop, a skip and a jump?

He can’t win in this game.
If he plays the ‘stiffs’ and we get shafted then he’ll get slaughtered.
If he plays the usual suspects and we win then some will say he should have rested them and give the squad players game time.

Seems like some aren’t believing in the “in Michelle we trust” anymore. Did she not say that promotion was the aim and expected outcome for the season, none of this middle of the table shite that 64 and others are posting.
She gave Butler probably the biggest budget in the league, half the teams aren’t getting 1000 through the turn styles, so in what world would it be acceptable to finish mid table. Buxton averaging 690 what does that say, it says Butler is out his depth.
Ya know like everyone was proclaiming Jimmy was and he achieved 2nd place at ease, that wasn’t good enough so just the same it won’t be acceptable for Butler if he doesn’t get us promotion.

    Bad to Worse?
    Hill… Dean… Butler
In desperation, we have become a sacking club.
I personally don’t want him sacked.
I want a change in formation and strategy. Players selected on merit. A high press, tempo, passion, effort, desire, a desperation to win, to win by putting their bodies on the line… blood, sweat and tears!
    Promo or Go?
    Or, just Go?
    The story will unravel.

I’d give him two seasons,I’m sick of upheaval.Dean had to go,he was damaged goods and part of what made the Iron so toxic.

My personal ethos is that all teams should have to end the season with the same manager as they start it…. Regardless of the league they play in.
    Recruitment is key.

Through Turnbull, the Board should issue a directive to Buttler to play 4-4-2
The squad is threadbare of quality & quantity and 4-4-2 is simpler & better suited to the personnel.
This directive should be announced to the supporters.
Failure to implement the Board’s directive should result in…

They won’t and shouldn’t do that. It would be the death knell and a sign of no confidence in Butler. If Butler fails, as he is doing presently, he will fall on his own sword.

Agree, once the board start meddling in team selection and so on, it’s only going one way.

Agreed… Swann was useless as manager!

Rene is clearly a very passionate fan and can be entertaining at times on this forum but he gets a little carried away sometimes, I’m guessing even he realises that particular post of his was complete rubbish.

I was utterly frustrated that Butler continues to employ the same. A post siesta tipple and that frustration induced a rush of blood to the head.
Of course they can’t & wont… but how do we get muffin the mule to change?

How are they going to afford to sack him… they’ve (as we all know) just extended his contract.
