From a neutrals point of view, the game wasn’t too bad.
It was a fairly evenly contested game – both teams making a number of schoolboy type errors and giving the ball away too easily from misplaced passes etc.We were all over them like the proverbial for the first ten or fifteen minutes. Then the game evened up somewhat.
We seemed to be weaker after the substitutions were made.
Did we deserve to win… no.
Did we deserve to lose… no.A point would have probably been fair.
Some poor strikes in the direction of the goal from our players.
We desperately need a finisher!
Their lad up front was a handful and quick. He also worked his socks off.

A 1/4 Final against one of our bogey teams maybe on the cards?
Whom would you like in next?
There’s 18 full weeks left on his contract.
What’s he on a week? – a grand?
£18k to pay him off.You “think” you know the details of his contract!
I can assure you, you don’t, you’re not even close.
It’s better to keep quiet than to lie about something you have no knowledge of.Two question marks indicate that two questions were asked.
Players contracts usually go up to the last week in June, as the new season starts on 1st July every year.
Perhaps I should have said that there maybe 18 weeks remaining on his contract.
No lies told.
Maybe I’m a million miles out with his weekly wage.
Maybe he’s on £500 a week, £2k a week, £3k a week… I’ve no idea – it was just a guess.
Speculation, have the conservatives made that a criminal offence now?
Jimbob’s on thin ice:
SS 1-0 Iron
You must know someone inside the club. Which few players are not interested? Can you name them please?
A strange reply to a score prediction?

£18k to pay him off.Interesting read on Andy Holt’s Twitter account from the last couple of days with regards to the finance of football clubs.
Without external funding, I can’t see a way into the EFL for us for a very long time.
National League is a good standard and should become EFL 3.
4 up to L2.
4 down to the new National League. What’s going to give?
Thought it was Stu, rattling his tin again.

I feel for the guy.
Was he WHAM’s patsy, earmarked to be SUFC’s last manager?
WHAM was possibly looking at taking the club in to bankruptcy and so wasn’t overly fussed about whom he brought in.
The lads obviously trying and is affected by the performances and results.
Perhaps the ‘ex-league’ players think they know better, think his sessions are poor / too easy / not intense, high tempo enough. We don’t know as we aren’t pitch side at training to observe.
Hopefully he’ll find another club at ‘his level’ and he’ll enjoy the game again.
At the moment, he looks like a tortured man.
Good luck and best wishes to him at his next club.8 users thanked author for this post.
Alfreton will beat us Saturday.
Get Torpey in with Butler assistant.
That’s an extra wage, though.
Not if the assistant goes too.
Exactly. Came as a pair, leave as a pear or is it a lemon?
Forget top.
There’s going to be one or two that nip in front of us and tuck us away in the 1/4 final play off positions.Alfreton will beat us Saturday.
Get Torpey in with Butler assistant.
Oh dear. Up next, the in-form Alfreton.
Chorley are 3 points behind us with a game in hand.
If Alfreton beats us on Saturday, they’ll be 3 points behind us with a game in hand.
Deanosaur heading for extinction!
In form Alfreton up next!
Blackets a handful.
Great strike from the corner there for them.Scales… wtf?
At least get it on target.
Shocking ‘strike’Doesn’t inspire / project confidence.
The great escape had to come off this season, the novelty season.
Next year will see crowds dwindle and therefore income.
We could be stuck on this floor for a while. The lift ascending no higher.Stu’s gone for Mariners 1-2 Iron
Hats off to him.
It's half-term, no school nights, so why not bring the kids down to the 1st Cloud for a huge night in South Shields history!
Tickets for our game tonight are still on sale, an opportunity for young Mariners to enjoy a big game!#SSFC | #AlwaysReady https://t.co/tdL2KzRBSB

I’ve got a feeling we will win tonight, comfortably as well.
I’m going SS 1 vs 4 Scunny
As Les Dennis used to say:
“If it’s there, I’ll give you the money myself!”28/1
Odds on January 24th
Tamworth 5/6
Iron 6/4Odds on 20th February:
Tamworth… 1/5
Scunthorpe… 5/1Chorley… 200/1
Chester… 200/183.3% probability that Tamworth take the title.
We will stumble in to the play-offs if Jimbob remains in charge… but, we won’t win them.
Don’t need a comma after but Rene, keep your standards up mate.
There’s a protracted pause after the ‘but’… the comma was used to try and express that.
You could start a new trend in English writing, how about (pp) after the but?
We will stumble in to the play-offs if Jimbob remains in charge, but, we won’t win them.
Ellipsis replaced with a comma. That should square things up?
Gold star?
If Dean has requested an extension he needs to demonstrate he isn’t one dimensional and knows what he’s doing because at the minute he isn’t doing a great job and has no clue how to change things. Not a great advert for a contract extension. He’s Hilton’s man so maybe we need somebody with league experience and previous ties to the club……
The only extension I’d give him would be some platinum blonde hair extensions.
I think most people have accepted the fact that Tamworth will be Champions.
A lot of people are now fearful of our chances of promotion through the play-offs. Is it currently a 50:50 split?
I think that Jimbob will be here until the end of the season.
I hope that he isn’t given a contract extension.
Torpey for manager?
Harsley for manager?
Butler for manager?
Butterfield for player manager?
Expenditure needs to be less than income.
Ambition requires tethering to the ledger and balance sheet.
I’d rather have a tent on terra firma than an air castle. We will stumble in to the play-offs if Jimbob remains in charge… but, we won’t win them.
