Ten home League defeats on the bounce.
The last time they won at home was 4th November 2023.
Bishop’s Stortford 3-1 BuxtonThe Bishop’s Stortfords Independent’s report on Tuesday home defeat:
That it’s come to this:
If Chorley win at Hereford and we don’t win at Bishop’s Stortford – then they move up to second.
Saturday 9th March 2024
National League North
Bishop’s Stortford v Scunthorpe UnitedBishop’s Stortford’s average home attendance = 557
Their last three home fixtures have seen gates of 246, 235 and 203 supporters.
The current incumbent of the First Team Manager title is James (Jimbob) Dean.
Yesterday, in his pre-game interview, he says of the game:
“Massive; massive… must win!”
NLN, Bishop Stortford away – if you’d told someone that 15 years ago they’d have had you placed in restraints and whisked you off to the funny farm!
Bishop’s f……g massive Stortford my arse!

I think Ngannou is too strong & powerful for Joshua and I can see him knocking him out between rounds 6 – 9… probably most likely to be round 8.
Absolutely. Country is on its derrière!
Bishops held Mass last night.

Why pick a score Rene if you can get 13/2 for any Bish win.
Good point.
Rene wanders off scratching his head.More, smaller waged but bigger odds bets for same or less outlay.
BS have drifted to 17/2 now.
Darlo are in to 12/5.A 28/1 double.
BS Top Scorers 2023-24:
1 Kane Crichlow… 8
2 Ryan Charles… 6
3 Mbunya Alemanji… 5
4 Darren Foxley… 4He’s 80 years young now.
If it is him, thank God he’s still here!Stortford were promoted as Champions of the Isthmian League Premier last season.
Geographically they should be playing in the NLS – however the great North / South divide exists even in football.
They were placed in NLN due to a dearth of Northern teams.
Chairman, 70% Owner and Manager, Steve Smith obviously decided he wants them playing in a more local southern league next season.
I watched a full BS game early in the season and to be fair they weren’t bad.
It’ll be a big day for them tomorrow, a free hit, a chance to be able to get one over the big boys.In two of their last three games, Bishop’s Stortford actually took the lead.
Also in two of those games they went in at half time without having conceded.
Spennymoor nicked the win there in the 90 +4 minute.
As we all know, we don’t score in the first half.
It could be a long afternoon!
Spennymoor manager didn’t think much of the pitch:
Not much activity at the ‘Blue Brazils’ chat.
https://bsfc-bluebrazil.proboards.com/board/1/bsfc-blue-brazil-chat
The only reactions we will get on that pitch are medical. Physio will be busy.
Looks like a 1970s Sunday League pitch:Well we need a reaction from someone after Tuesday.
If it’s not forthcoming from the ownership then it will have to be from the coaching and playing staff.
It’ll be more of the same tomorrow.
Players will be at half pace, protecting themselves from picking up a serious injury.
You can’t go on trial if you can’t play due to injury.
There minds will be on “where am I going to be playing next season”If Jimbob’s still at the helm of HMS Ranaground then Saturday’s game at Doldrum Park is going to be an embarrassment.
Bringing them in on their day off will backfire.
Old school type autocratic ‘management’ from a bygone era.We will see how well it goes on Saturday.
Revised prediction:
Bishop’s Stortford 1-0 Iron1-0… 20/1
2-0… 45/1
2-1… 25/1Maybe the Board have done the cost / benefit analysis of promotion and have calculated that it’s financially sounder to remain in NLN.
I have being thinking this for a while now.Top of the (Form – last 4 games) Table clash on Saturday:
Spennymoor (2nd) v Darlington (1st)
Last 6 games:
Spennymoor (1st) v Darlington (2nd)Darlington are 11/4 to win!
Radio silence across social media yesterday, so it may well be that something is happening.
Radio Silence – I saw Mr D for the first time way back in 1982:
Dean’s only got a pedigree at Peterborough Sports?
Dean’s only bought Pedigree Chum at JD Sports.
Watch it, that comment could be compared to supporters shouting vile moronic abuse at club staff.
Woof!
Another thread mentions Mr Dean and gardening leave…
Dean, Bean… Bean, Dean
Dean’s only got a pedigree at Peterborough Sports?
Dean’s only bought Pedigree Chum at JD Sports.
Local trusted journo seems to know something is going on. If a new person is coming in then the first game on paper looks an easy one or do the board wait and do we waste another game on these tactics (which aren’t working and aren’t changing). Had a dream last night that ACG came back, although Jonny Bairstow was playing for us as well so don’t hold much hope out
If Jimbob’s still at the helm of HMS Ranaground then Saturday’s game at Doldrum Park is going to be an embarrassment.
Hopefully gardening leave:
Rumours – Time(x) will tell:
Whatever will be, will be:
Whatever will Eminem:
So, it appears the players were brought in yesterday on their day off.
Was it for extra training or was it that they were made to watch a video of their Tuesday night horror show whilst eating their poached eggs on toast?
Was it for our man with the microphone to ask them all a random question to post on X?
Whatever it was for, it should happen every week.We can’t afford the extra bread & eggs it would cost.
Such actions only increase the tensions, atmosphere, dissent, apathy, resentment, moroseness in the environment.
All it will have done is further pissed off the ‘players’.
They do have lives, families and commitments away from football.
Maybe someone’s aging mum or dad might be seriously ill in hospital and yesterdays theatrics meant they didn’t get to visit.
Poor!
Sad!

Harsh on Fitzsimons, Ogle, Kouogun, Butterfield; McAlinden and generous to Beestin IMO.
The regular starters need a wake up call and showing that they ain’t indispensable.
There are thousands of young lads who will play for much less than the reputed salaries of our ‘Primadonnas’1 user thanked author for this post.
BS 1-4 Chorley
The penalty was a soft award.
I’ve watched it at a 1/4 speed a number of times and to me it looks as if the defender got a foot on the ball and the striker fell over the ball / his feet / dived ?Awful pitch by the way.
