I will be interested in his court case and how that pans out. I hope he is hit hard by the courts decision.
Even though Peterborough Sports are only midtable in NLN they are by far and away the smallest team in it with smallest budget etc and widely accepted if they avoid relegation it will be/ would have been Jimmy Dean’s greatest achievement after 4 promotions previously.
Definitely not sustainable at Conference North level. Go back a few decades the club had Manager, assistant manager possibly a coach, physio and Youth team manager. I know Sports science has moved on immeasurably in modern day football but you have to cut your cloth accordingly.
I think it’s a great idea ans goes without saying I would contribute in a shot, as am sure a huge swathe of Iron fans would.
Zero sympathy.

The rag has been shocking for a good number of years. I stopped buying it 4 or 5 years ago. A new low for me wasthe papers idea of listing the top 10 dogging sites in Scunny and I thought yeah dogshit paper. The days of quality local sports journalists like Bob Steels are a distant memory.

I believe James Moody is stepping up,which is great as a Scunny die hard he should bring a lot of drive and passion to the role.

After been loaned back to the Cods it seems he may be out for a few months with the veey strong possibility of shoulder surgery.
By all accounts from what i have been told his attitude is absolutely
shocking, like you wouldn’t believe. Club have to get rid asap1 user thanked author for this post.
Jay Spearing a latest name to appear on a rumour website on my twitter. We are set to sign him apparantly……..
Generally the horrendous last 3 or 4 years at the club and Covid to boot has seen my interest spiral. I rarely watch MOTD or the EFL highlights on Quest.i feel Swann has decimated my club through his incompetence.I have found been a fan week after week seeing constant defeats, and crap football a depressing experience. I have developed new interests outside of football and I am certainly a lot more careful how I spent my hard earned cash now. Saying that, I will be there next season and hopefully we can wipe the whole slate clean and start again.

Add to that a physio, assistant physio, secretary and data analyst.
I will cut him a huge amount of slack this season. There was only so much you can do with a very limited budget. They club and Hill performed very well shipping so many out in January. Yes granted the players brought in have not set the world alight with winning football but he bought in players (Feeney and Grant) we probably wouldn’t have been able to get in otherwise had it not been for his influence. The damage had already been done in the last 3 or 4 windows with the plethora of low quality cheap signings Swann allowed us. Mark my words in the Vanarama next season, this is where you will see Hills quality as a manager where I fully expect at very least a solid season of stability.

Some far bigger and better supported clubs than us have spent years trying to get out of there.
100% spot on

One thing is for sure, what ever league we find ourselves in next season it will be great we can actually clear the decks of a lot of the crap signed in the last 2 years that just beggared belief with there lack of quality and showing.Almost start from scratch and start again.
Feeny having seen him in Tesco yesterday is a right unit similar in build to Yann Songo. Am hoping that if we can get rid of some of the crap like Kenyon,Millen etc there might be scope to bring a decent centre half. That added to the hopefully soon to be announced Nuttal signing would be a brand new spine and some much needed experience and muscle.

Alex Kenyon in particular looked a very poor player by league 2 standards.Absolutely no threat going forward at all. 2 new strikers and a central midfielder are bare minimum needed for me.
After the mass exodus of players released in May you looked at the squad left and would have said you needed 7 or 8 rock solid Div 1 or 2 types to even be competative and try and get us to midtable status. We are a million miles away from that with just 3 signed. I doubt very much we would even be competitive in the conference right now. The squad is horrifically ill equipped. The only saving grace seems to be reasonably assembled defence.
Anyone been to the game? If so any thoughts ?
According to the EFL’s conditions of a transfer embargo, clubs are allowed up to 23 players who have played a professional game. They are also allowed to sign free transfers one year deals and sign players on loan. I can’t see this making much difference the the clubs current recruitment strategy too be fair.

Nothing to do with being negative or positive. Down to personal taste and opinion.
I will take that back. Having seen it on a promotional video with the full kit,it aint that bad.

Northampton ,Mansfield and Walsall in particular are having a right go at it. Too be fair a lot of Codhead signings seem even cheaper than what we would go for,Not that impressed with the quality they are going for. We are either proper struggling at this point or simply being patient and Cox knows what and who he wants.
Would not be surprised as well if the club were only prepared to offer a 1 year deal, which is all Alex Kenyon signed for. Maybe thats the new strategy, keeping players hungry for the next contract and not been lumbered with them (ie Turan,Jarvis etc) if it goes tits up.
Really not losing any sleep over us not signing him back. Decent enough keeper at non league /div 2 level but nothing that can not be got from elsewhere.

Any one have a link?
To be fair he seems to be a ,’clogger’ type but i would take that and have him give 100% in every game rather than a lot of players we seem to have signed in recent years that go missing for months on end or get injured a lot and get called wage thief’s by pissed of fans. Its not ideal and certainly would not be the calibre of player for me to build around for a promotion push. But to make us more combative and competitive than last season? Absolutely.

I can second that. As a 9 year old newly arrived from South Africa and rocked up in Burton Stather,i was told a famous footballer lived at a certain house locally. So this inquisitive 9 year old knocked on his door to enquire who he was.His wife Queenie introduced me to him in his kitchen, then showed me Kevin Keegans caps and shirts. Spent 20 mins talking to me about his and Keegans career before sending me on my way with a signed program.Jackie Brownsword was Scunthorpe United.

I for one think Cox could well surprise us this season. Although a tad worried by our lack of signings so far i still think he will garner a solid enough squad to finnish mid table ish. Which after last seasons horror show would be a major success. I am basing this on no sound logic, other than am normally a glass hall full bloke!
