Most scunny fans = the majority of scunny fans don’t participate on this forum.
Terrible chairman = Peter Swann who currently owns the ground through his business and has us sat in 23rd in the league – before he came along Scunthorpe United owned its own ground.
Terrible fans = fans which constantly bicker, saying unsporting stuff to one and thus falling out in public with each other on this forum.

This thread optimises why most scunny united fans don’t participate on the forum anymore.
Not only do we have a terrible chairman but many of the fans on here are pretty terrible people too.

Yes really tranmere have created absolutely nothing aswell. Two goals from outside the box. One a mistake by watson and one a mistake by gallimore

I would accept Adkins back too, i doubt anyone will have the ability to get our lot playing well enough to keep us up but at least it would create a little bit of buzz and excitement as right now its thoroughly miserable

The team barely strung a pass together in the second half and not one player in our squad is a danger to the opposition. Loft can run and battle a bit but has absolutely zero end product and that penalty was abysmal. We will never stay up as we cannot create a goal the only hope we have is set plays. So so poor again could easily have been another thumping if it wasnt for watson in goal. Not nice to say it but i think the whole management team needs to leave and we need a completely rebuild.

BLT u must be the only one watching. 4-1 doesn’t appear that we played well. Also disappointed loft chose to score today as id rather he would save his 1 in 6 ratio for a league game

2 games in and no goals from open play. Did anyone listen or watch the game as am just wondering if we even looked like creating a goal. I have feeling if we don’t score first in a game then we have lost as like last year we have no idea how to create chances. The bigger issue this year is we also have no players who can score a goal out of nothing, at least last year having eisa and kvv in the team you had that hope of a goal from a bit of individual skill. I dont believe any of the players we have now can do that so we are now worse off and are nailed on favourites for relegation already.

Due to the embargo i think the loan keeper can only be for half a season. Its nothing new as we are used to only having a goalkeeper for half a season while Watson plays the other half.

At least we all know why the contracts were pulled from our best players, swann knew then that he wouldnt have been within budget.
Does anyone know how muchh the loan is. Am only wondering as if its less than say £500k then he could easily have paid a little more for the land and not taken the loan off the efl, thus not putting us under an embargo this season.

I have been a Swann fan for most of his tenure but this is the final straw for me there was no need for this to happen. All the financial issues we currently find ourselves in is down to one man and because of him this will be our last season in the football league.

    Well said iron-awe.

Moving back to the interview, for me it felt like an opportunity to ask questions about this season and how are we going to address the problems so we don’t have another season the same. But for some reason the interview was focused on what happened last season which has gone now, surely we all want to know whats happening with player recruitment, is the budget blown already? Why do we need another defensive coach? Etc etc. Even when he said he pulled the plug on the contracts in january and decided to focus on signing other players in the summer, the interview should have questioned where are these players you were focusing on as you have had 7 months to bring them in. For me it just felt like a waste of everybody’s time and has just fuelled more bad feelings towards the club and the chairman.

I shouldn’t complain as we need signings but centre back is the only area of the pitch where we have decent players. Its forward looking players we need more than anything.

All these singings for other clubs will make Cox’s life easier. Its a numbers thing really, the lower the number of players available, the higher percentage of those players available will be willing to come to scunny. Using that logic I thoroughly expect all our signings to come in August/September.

Am starting to get really depressed especially when i see players i think we could go for signing for other teams. I know we couldn’t afford josh morris but him playing league two is also annoying me. We need an interview from cox or Swann updating us on whats going on. Even if he says we are speaking to players will boost fans morale slightly as right now there is nobody i know that doesn’t think we will finish bottom.

I do agree razor, but if we can’t pay enough for a bang average local boy, how bad is our budget.

Will be interesting to know if we offered him a deal. If we did that would be two non league players we have offered deals to that havent signed.

I can only apologise Mick, up until last season i was still a positive scunny fan. I have just had all that positivity wiped out of me, the negativity i am displaying has come by watching almost every game last season and the style of football we played was the worst i have seen. You dont mind it in a few games but we were the same in all but a couple of matches and we were only saved by relegation due to southend having a transfer embargo at the start of the season.
Today’s signing is telling me to expect more of the same next season. Hopefully he is just part of the jigsaw and the one to replace jem and the more exciting signings are yet to arrive.

He’s been there 8 years! Last year was the only year they were anywhere near the top and he played in about a quarter of the games

Am worried about the lack of ability comment more than anything else. Our current squad is already severely lacking in ability. Can anyone honestly tell me where the goals are going to come from as we have no creative players and no goalscorers.

This comment on the Morecambe says a lot about our budget and type of player we are in for.

‘Would imagine one of the lowest earners in the squad but absolutely one of the most loyalist. What he lacked in techinal ability more than made up in passion, heart and determination and seems like he loved every minute playing for our club!’

Not sure how to view this other than we are signing a player that is used to a relegation fight.

I can give you a clue of who its going to be by putting it in two categories.
All the good ones will be gone and all the bad ones will be retained

Grimsby and southend both 2-0 down so we staying up, the real nightmare will be next season when the few decent players we have leave

Bit harsh shooter, harrogate were using the wind advantage well, second half will tell us if its them having more intent then us.
