These are BIG games. As stated by Mr Butler.
His last prolific spell was 2022 – 23 at Darlington.
No point signing him if you don’t play to his strengths.

I think Nicholson is better in a back 4.
A long throw is better on the field than off it, so put the right peg in the right hole.
All games are must wins. They were since the start of the pre-season games.

Why MK Iron ? Because you wanted to witness the new dawn in Mr Butlers gameday approach.
Marine will be mesmerised as will you all !! (but don’t hold your breath].
Too many coaches having read the same ‘Methods of Coaching Manuals’ start over thinking and end up complicating tactics.
They seem to forget the supporter and don’t like it when the fans start to complain.

Wrong to put names in the hat. We all have ideas and keeping your own counsel is best.
I do believe we are an attractive proposition.
I’d rather us sign a winger.
By doing that someone has to admit 352 does not work.
And then many criticised 90 mins of ‘Hoof Ball’ against Alfreton – so was AB saying ‘I will do what I want’ !!The Marine game could be a breaking point.
I get the logic but if we signed another CB, there’d be a collective meltdown
Might focus the attentions of some.
I’d carry on at Trinity if I were Russ. Bigger managerial offer potential.
All depends what he wants to do with this part of his footballing life.
Yeah, let’s get another CB and play 4 of em
But start to assemble for 2025 – 2026 because some are going are they not ? So if he meets the criteria get him signed and leave him on loan.

In a Humberside interview after AB got an extended contract the reporter asked the “What if things do not work out” I am sure Michelle said that there were clauses were things could change.
I do believe action would be taken if the situation shows serious decline before it is too late.
We are looking for a head of recruitment. Russ is very well thought of. And he is doing a very good job at Trinity.

Everyone should be optimistic for our next match – why you ask. Well in recent post match interviews Mr Butler said they had a lot to work on. Well are having a nice long period to iron out all the errors and reset our approach.
So get ready for the charge.

I have always pushed our home grown but for whatever reason they are dumped first. But when you look at we replaced them with we did not improve the quality in those positions.
One released a couple of seasons ago – the reason he was given for his release “You have been here too long” ! In recent times, Tom Pugh – his various replacements have not done the job he was frequently asked to do. At least he cared.
A Tom McWilliams knows non league well. His comments about many of our signings were very encouraging, he thought promotion was a given. What he couldn’t account for was the tactics of JD and seemingly the stubborness of AB.
The approach seems to be we started with a point and 7 defenders should retain it ! But of course it does not, people leave to someone else and then no one does the job !!
I do believe in one of Michelle’s interviews when asked about the contract extension she mentioned there were clauses in it – exactly what no idea but performance and league position may be in it with others.

A poor manager will keep on pressing ahead with a system that isn’t working for the players he has available. A great manager will find a system that works with the players he has available. Unfortunately for us, it seems that Butler is currently committed to playing the system that clearly is not working.
That was why Michael Nelson should have been left alone, but relegation was the aim so he had to go.
Nelson had just developed a system with what he had and he didn’t have much and sometimes less than he thought. Never mind all his travelling each day was the most organised we had been for several seasons.

Don’t know if he now has but 70 mins after the game he still had not given Humberside his post match interview and they had no message either !
Make them deal with what we do and continue with that philosophy for the rest of the season – home and away.
Interesting we have a player with more experience but I think less goals !
That is interesting.
As no one has seen his contract at Trinity then no one knows what clauses are in it.
So people are going to have to wait. Priority for him is tonight and good luck to them and Russ.
The only person who will get Mr Butler sacked is Mr Butler.
In the prediction league I usually go for a win with the odd draw. Let us hope we want to win as opposed to stopping them from winning.

What does he say in todays Scunthorpe Telegraph “We can still get better” – he would be better saying nothing because that is a ridiculous comment by him.
It is not sinking in with him, gates will start to fall if they are being ignored – these fans have bought this, that and the other to help raise funds from the shop, raffles/draws organized by individuals, race nights and many other ways. Give them something. We have gone from clear at the top to now in a mix and many have said why.

Never been a fan of a stubborn manager. Certainly not impressed when the basics are lacking in full time professionals – struggle to control a ball and it seems are unable on many occasions to pass the ball successfully.
After a pre-season for fitness, ‘friendlies’ to establish team shape and 19 games I do not expect to hear a Manager to say in more than one post match interview “We have plenty to work on” !! – it should have already been worked on it is not good enough. You always want your own to succeed but this season is a must for promotion so the gates do not start to slide back. And they will if the fans are not entertained and not listened to.

Togz team won last night. So a good start as the official manager.
People said the strikers got little in crosses so 442 will be ineffective if some of the 2nd four are told to stay near the 1st four. Which start to look like a 5122.

Some of the words from the manager says it all – “I am happy with the point…..”
Said before targeting is negative. It will not achieve success because it encourages mediocrity. What is the point of having 2 big centre forwards and no wing play ?
Last season the support was to help save the club, this season they expect entertainment. Read the postings on last nights game, they were not entertained and may make people not want to travel away. The next thing will be home gates will fall because the fans are being treated with contempt.
Whatever level a managers intention should be to want to win ALL games, what is wrong in that. But to be happy with a point will encourage a fall in interest and the comments on the standard of passing are disturbing. Can’t pass the ball, one of the most important of skills comes from disinterest.
If a Manager cannot sort that out he is in the wrong profession.

That scrapping midfielder so many call for. The 2 that I rated were Dean Martin and Sam Togwell – knew what they had to do and did it.
Tom Pugh scenario all over again. Good luck to him and he will do well because he will get game time in a sensible formation.
In the last 5 interviews the repeated line I hear is ‘people making bad choices and errors’ and yet they play again and again. Fin deserved a run of games and his enthusiasm would driven others to up their game.
But it seems as though he isn’t playing but the defeats may be his fault – don’t like that !!
Confirmed by Mr Butler that for our home game against Buxton we set up to deal with what they do – says individual errors cost us. Therefore that means it did not work, so what about setting up and make opponents have to deal with us.
Targeting does not work and the Buxton game proves it.
