There are a lot of bike race fans in the area, always has been.
Had some great riders – more recent Matshall, Burnett, Rob Mcelnea, ‘Marra Brown’ – admittedly not so many these days as many used to be supported by Bike shops and there are not so many these days.
I know we have had some statements informing us what debt was faced but it would be good if the club tried to explain why some decisions were made or had to be made.
Recruitment will be determined by which league we are in next season.
Recruitment will be decided by Budget, League competing in and the aspirations of younger players to grab a chance and not just the money.
In light of the news threatening the existence of British Steel the town needs a lift and Saturday could help a lot.
Bright and Breezy attacking football coupled with a good result can go a long way to help.
Close season will be interesting that is for sure.
Got to look at prospects who want an opportunity but keep a tighter grip on the budget. Perhaps some Cleethorpes lads attracted attention in the coming months.
What stupid rumours? Is he aware that there was truth in this and that FC100,000’s announcement made it clear that they were presenting it as a deal to be heavily involved with the club? It was them who made the announcement, launched their GCSE project of a website and leaked to The Athletic, with evidence that it was Scunthorpe for the eagle eyed. Dan Stamp and a few others enabled this to be confirmed with their own talk and digging. None of it came from this forum and those involved with this site (e.g. Matt B and E) only commented after the talk from others.
On that Ollie Turner – Humberside interview right at the start the FC100K says they where looking at the acquisition of a club which says buy to me. Then someone showed the ‘Steps’ of the FC plan when they get in. They clearly say they want 50% of the shares + 1 ‘golden share’ ! That golden share means takeover because no way are they going to put the money of 40K investors weekly or monthly into the club without 100% control.
Anyway it would appear they have gone and now we have look at ways to protect ourselves and then push on.
Would be interested if Iron Trust come up with a plan which coordinates all efforts.
Well done Michelle – listening to the fans. Dodged another ‘character’
Michelle was part of the board who negotiated behind all of our backs with a questionable 5th owner and was on the verge or signing a deal.
Michelle shouldn’t be celebrated/patted on the back, she and the other members shouldn’t have got as far as they did with the deal without letting us all know first.
I find it very underhanded and extremely snide. Ian Sharp was on a podcast not that long ago and claimed the deal was pretty much dead in the water.
The longer these lot at board level are in charge the more I question if they’re really up to fit. As time passes they appear more and more incompetent.
This isn’t even factoring the fact they made a huge balls us by not purchasing after care on the pitch and just about wrecked it as a result. Why they decided to penny pinch on the playing surface without looking in to it first was stupid to say the least.
I’m forever grateful that they saved us, but can we really trust these lot in looking after the club on pushing us on long term ?
With Wondergoals. I have issues with the club statement 1/ It says “they put it out to see what fans thought of it” – they did not Aidan McCartney big fan got wind of something and put it out there . 2/ No deal had been agreed yet a video announcing it had been filmed ! 3/ Why was there so many NDA’s if we had nothing to hide and ‘only’ in discussion. 5/ Seems a different meaning you hear it was a possible new investor but the nab from My Club or FCa100000 said they were looking for club Acquisition. There is a big difference in the 2 words INVESTOR and ACQUISITION.
The fans suss out those that will damage the club very quickly.
Vary wary of things being sprung on the fans and who is involved in the springing !
This is all about the man who sends them out against Chester.
Players are either bouncing or tippy tappy.

Have most points at end of the season then yes. And that is te way we have to approach – all games are must wins.

Got to remember they will be scared of slipping up.
Nice for Bernard to explain why and what it means. Congratulations to IRISH IRON.
Sacked their Manager now.
When we are playing the last game of the season and are 4 points clear of any threat then and only then are we going up.
Never get above oneself.
Yesterday [13/03] Chester had sold 1300 tickets with 90 left.
2moro’s score will have an influence, so the more the better.
A statement win would be huge leaving 8 to go.
AB also hinted that because he was out of their 1st team his training was also reduced, so he has been working on that and then the games on top have caught up a little.
But the squad do seem to be coping when issues like this crop up. 9 matches to go Mr Wreh will contribute I have no doubt.
The Farsley game is not a given, in fact probably one of the banana skins of the season.
Must show 100% professionalism and attack from the 1st minute to the 90th. This game allows us to keep the pressure on
but only if we want to do it.From the 1st whistle on the floor, neat and sharp passing and the passes in front of the runner.
Down the side and crosses or at pace running in on goal and shots from 20 – 30 yds out with front men waiting for rebounds.

There is little room for error. Just hope someone doesn’t over think it. Get the shape to basics and get the attitude front foot orientated.
Do what we have to do and make opponents deal with us, just the odd ‘we knew he would that and they could do this’ in AB’s post match with James. 3 huge away games now and 9 from 9 has to be the aim.
I’m sure it will pick up again soon once the games start coming. Suppose there’s a lot going on in the world right now and not much Iron activity to discuss? It’s quiet on the other platforms too tbh.
As for player ratings, maybe not so much a case of ‘where’s it gone?’ but ‘where’s bartonscorpion gone?’. Just thinking about player rating posts the other day. Used to enjoy them.
Hopefully Bartonscorpion is still with us and he will explain. I do know that a couple of years a go he had a bad leg that slowed him down along with Father Time .
Bit harsh on McKenna, Sanfran. Done a brilliant job. Just fighting a losing battle with Championship players in a stitched up league. Burgess did okay for them last season I think. Or the season before?
Slight misunderstanding here – I meant the manager in charge when Cam was here. I think McKenna has done a great job I think some of those he gives an opportunity to are not 100% team players.

Conor still got the energy and great crosses. Cam Burgess – perhaps the manager did not do his job after all it takes 2.
Yates – well we could all see it and he learned his trade well with the loans. Now looks comfortable in whatever he does.

A statement score would do wonders on and off the pitch. We have the weapons but they seem reluctant to shock their opponents with.
Time to start the run in.

The target for us is 11 games left and 11 wins. Do that and we are champions and promoted.
And that has to be it.
Brilliant stuff.
Credit in the bank for Butler for adapting to Whitehall’s absence.
A fully fit Beestin has been a joy to behold the last couple Of months, after the journey he’s had as an Iron player few would begrudge a promotion.
It is good news re Alfie. Has the occasional issue with effects of covid from way back but it seems to be managed to mutual benefit.
Fantastic keeper- would be great if we can convince him to stick around after the summer
Could be a balancing act, will the wages be enough on a short extension or a longer contract for security. Because we had the hints that a lot of the playing budget went on about a 3rd of the playing staff and it will change.
Certainly news sounds a lot better for him. And his fitness is priority.
Gives Andy Butler a massive boost 3 big strikers for the run in.
Just pleased that no surgery is needed for Danny. Rest and then rehab and hopefully will be available for the last few games.
Now the others need to step up and get the job done so the pressure is reduced on Danny.
0 – 3 Iron win.
Callum, Mo and Carlton to score Beck for 2 assists. -
