It’s an interesting discussion. The national league seems to get stronger year after year, and with the EFL’s sphincter being so tight it takes something special to crawl back inside.
There are some very strong sides down there now, and look at the trouble Hollywood FC are having getting back up despite big money signings like Mullin and co. Wrexham famously finished on 98 points and still failed to go up. Us (Tranmere) did the same on 95 points.
I can’t say I envy you guys. It’s high time it went to three up, three down I think.
Tranmere fan here. It only gets worse with him from this point onwards, you’re past the point of no return. He’ll run out of excuses, get more and more bitter, and eventually he’ll publicly blame the fans. That’s normally the point at which he gets sacked.
