I’d invest in a pair of corduroy boxers Brian. A couple of your predictions may return to bite you on the bum!
Eg – “this will almost be a great season for Lewis” & “Goals won’t be a problem”
My glass has a crack in it, so if you tilt it one way it leaks badly.
My concerns are – still no depth of leadership and experience. Take Clarke an KvV out of the equation and we’ve little in the way of either.
We are lightweight in CMF. We know how important Lund was before he was sold on and in our play-off seasons the contributions of the likes of Matt Crooks and Ryan Yates were critical.
But my main worry is that once again we will have a manager coming in to work with players he didn’t sign.
You’re not telling me that negotiations between Swann and Wilcox went on for four months!
How about a sweepstake on which players will be shipped out on loan without kicking a competitive ball?
Dales and Olomola must be packing their bags already!
Welcome back Brian!
Cheers Matt!
Yes, working super-quick. Too quick in fact. Not giving me time to check the “keep me logged in” box!
System keeps logging me out whilst reading multiple posts.
Also threads keep disappearing and reappearing!
Anyone else suffering this?
Depends whether the stable is full of thoroughbreds or donkeys!
A convicted domestic abuser? No thank you.
Worked for Peterborough!
Found a picture of Manny Onariase on the web. Had to do a double take to check if it was an Iron or Irons shirt he was wearing.
Captain Jordan Clarke on the flight deck then.
Didn’t see that coming. Must have been to Lourdes during lockdown!
Or Keith Hill!
Already been. Watching Chester in the Evo-Stik a few years back.
Dunno if they’ve done improvements to it since but it was a proper non-league shed then.
Sunderland have thirty-odd thousand fans to help them out.
We don’t have that luxury!
On the evidence of the past twenty years I’d say Wigan were the bigger club.
So not sure what your point is.
Must be John Lundstram then!
Said I was concerned, not surprised.
2/10 for comprehension.
Well the houses will all have nice lawns!
Another good podcast.
Interesting stuff and Charlie, like Tom Hopper, comes across as a level-headed young man.
Once again the quality of Mirf and Murray is highlighted. And the importance of Lucetti in Alexander’s early successes.
“Contractgate” cropped up again too.
Good luck to the lad at Northampton.
Call me old fashioned, but I’d prefer the new manager to be in place before seeing any new signings.
If Russ is back with the U23s and Turnbull has left the building who is making the decision on new players?
Slightly concerned 😕
Should be in good nick. It had plenty of shit spread on it last season.
Isn’t August 1st our usual signings date?
This next managerial appointment is so important to get right
August 1, 2020 at 8:36 am#192694Well we’ve been here before!
Isn’t that a pagan belief?
I reckon our “Burton” suit was worn out when we got it! Spent a lot of time in the wardrobe.
Not the drive-in movie theatre is it?
Aye, a bit like finding an Armani suit in a charity shop. Buy it, wear it once then give it away to another charity shop!
99p cheaper to be fair!
For someone who was against lockdown he certainly needs to get out more!
Get back out there and support everyone in work, spend your money go to the pub, cafes, holidays, help everyone its really not bad out there .
If you’re comfortable with that then fine. However, many aren’t.
Talking to the landlady in my local on Sunday as I was the only one in for twenty minutes.
Agreed that you can only do so much and if customers are still not comfortable with the arrangements they won’t “get back out there”. You can’t force people back no matter how much YOU want them to, and with government guidelines still ambiguous at best and downright confusing at worst normally is still light years away.
No one wants Russ sacked. Just for him to return to being a coach.
When he got us over the line in 2014 he had leaders in the squad. Syers, Bishop, McSheffrey, Hayes, Burton, Mirfin. And forwards like Madden and Winnall who new where the goal was.
Not got that luxury this time round.
Needs help in some form.
250!
How much is a ticket £100?
Indeed. If this was the first time Wilcox had been promoted to caretaker/permanent manager then fair enough, but we know on past record what we’re getting. The performance against the Cods show that nothing has changed for the better.
If Swann intends to run with a reduced young squad he needs the best possible coaching and management team to get the best out of them.
We know the scenario. Team struggles, players inexplicably left out, fans moan, Swann sacks! Repeat.
With a host of coaches and players looking for new clubs it’s a buyers market. Let’s hope Swann and the recruitment team have being doing their homework during lockdown.
Let’s also remember that other clubs are is the same situation as ourselves. We only need to be the best of the worst!
