“Time Ladies & Gentlemen please!”
That’s it, the doors are locked and we’re screwed.
Unless we queue up at the 24hr off license? See what’s on offer that nobody else wants.
One hour to go.
Last orders please!
I think waste of money would be more to the point.
You mean we’re not playing Cambridge AND Cheltenham on the same day?
Phew!
Maybe the thread should be titled “Dictator of Football”?
Most of the pre Swann years were in division 4 playing crap football in front of 1,500 fans
A bit like now then?`
What Lawsy?
New tactics? Winning 4-0?
I thought Russ was in charge of the U23s.
If we are going to talk about relegation, can we please make sure we get the name right? It is the GM Vauxhall Conference!
Wrong!
It’s the Vanarama National League.
Allowing plenty of time for spleen venting this week eh?
When the world’s best player tests positive it must be telling you something!
Precisely my point Ferrite.
Invariably for every 4/5 loans we bring in only one excels.
Same in midfield. Ryan Yates apart, who have we seen with real quality?
The only position where we have had decent loans recently has been at fullback.
Yet, guess what? We’re severely lacking in that area at present.
But it’s not just the home-growns it’s any young player joining the club.
Look at the loans from “bigger” clubs. For every Ivan Toney there’s a George Thomas, an Ike Ugbo, a Stephen Humphrys and a George Miller. They more often than not start off looking the part then go backwards as the season progresses.
And don’t get me started on Clayton Lewis, Dom Vose, Johnny Margetts, Yasin Ben El Mhanni and Andrew Crofts.
We have signed players and been told they are going to be the dog’s bollocks, but more often than not they end up being completely bollocks!
What’s happened to the club that used to turn raw talent like Andy Keogh, Billy Sharp and Gary Hooper into class acts?
Seriously worried about the whole setup at the moment.
If that’s the case, how come they don’t seem able to track a runner?
Because they’re not very good?
Excuse me for starting the bleeding obvious, but isn’t that what coaches and managers are there to do? Make them better players?
We’ve plenty of ingredients in the pantry, what we need is a capable chef and a well-tried recipe.
Is Paul Hurst still available?
“The club only won seven of its final 20 games last season, meaning it was outside the play-off zone when the campaign was brought to an early end.
In addition to disappointing results, it was also felt the style of football Alexander’s team was producing did not match expectations.”
Thing is the squad is awash with midfielders. So much in fact that some are being played at fullback.
So any improvement in this area will have to come about through coaching and with so little league experience in there it could take some time.
Interesting that the two Bournemouth loanees are now underperforming after looking decent in the first couple of games.
Does this not reinforce the need for an old head in there to organise them?
Bournemouth won’t be too happy either as it’s doing nowt to progress them as footballers.
Premier League’s major clubs propose shrinking top flight of English football in major shake-up
We need Swann because without him we wouldn’t be established in the Championship playing exciting attacking football in our brand new all-seater stadium!
So think on!
Scored more for them (5) than Ryan Loft (4)!
Cash comes before community in Capitalist Britain.
Said it before we kicked a ball in anger.
We need at least one experienced leader out there.
Swann has recruited a lucky-bag of youngsters that his likewise inexperienced manager is still picking through.
Call it a gamble, call it naivety, call it stupidity. It ain’t working.
A week left to find a leader, and even that won’t fully solve the problem!
Tonight Swann may be saying “Why do I need Scunthorpe United?”
Anyone else experiencing problems
Neil Cox?

Also I take it Butroid is injured, otherwise it’s a bit harsh to bin him after just one poor game.
Unless we bring a loan in this week I can see RB being a problem all season.
Gilliead and Eisa as out and out wingers please with Taylor and Spence central.
Wouldn’t be opposed to seeing Mooney alongside Loft. He looked sharp in pre-season.
Agree we should put our hands in our pockets, but I’m not sure that they should be described as “lovely” and “looks really good”.
Poppy badges & brooches in various guises have become more like a fashion accessory of late. The direct opposite of what they were first designed for – to remember the futility and suffering of a whole generation. The old paper poppy was unassuming and fragile like life itself.
However, anything that gets folk to contribute to the appeal has to be a good thing. Just don’t wear it all year like some people I know!
You taking the Michael Northumb, or are you being serious ?
I’m asking a serious question – what do YOU think the club should do?
We still have to “participate” against Mansfield.
Whether or not it will be meaningful remains to be seen.
Fair comment ‘tash, but have we seen this side of him because of the issues he has?
The incident in question took place in June. That’s over three months ago, yet according to the club they have only just found out.
Imagine the mental stress of hiding an assault charge from your employer.
