LOL!
“And this is why we must act now!”
No! It’s why you should have acted a month ago you ‘effin idiot!
Who wants to come to Scunny and catch COVID!
And, no, it’s not the middle aged who are suffering most. Most job losses are among the young.
Too true. I’m afraid it’ll be last in, first out when it comes to job losses.
These countries do better than us because they trust those in charge to behave competently and look after their people. In return they behave themselves and follow the guidelines. Here, it seems people increasingly don’t believe what they’re told, because the government has cried ‘wolf’ far too often.
THIS ^^^^^^
Absolutely spot on Gurney.
And therein lies the difference.
I was joking BS!
Mega-busy yesterday evening. It got to 8:00pm and realised I hadn’t done my predictions.
Good job there were only four games.
I thought the prediction league was postponed for the next three games!!!
Why should the EFL pay? Why not each club pay for their own, with certification to prove that they have?
Because presumably it was the EFL that decided that the new season should start in September.
But how many will still play tonight unaware that they could be spreading the virus?
The EFL should make money available for ALL clubs to test ALL staff now before it gets silly.
Begs the question, why weren’t the last two?
Carlisle fans I know (and I know a good few) say Fela needs to be in the box.
The way we have played recently makes this impossible. Whoever is up top is isolated and has no option other than to drop deep to collect the ball.
You need a creative midfielder, which we’ve lacked since Ryan Yates, or wingers playing as wingers and delivering crosses into the box.
Sideways passing and wingers coming inside and checking back won’t do the job.
Aye! They certainly think Olomola is better.
If it’s £5k a week then this is one area where the big earners in the PL could help out.
Gareth Bale’s weekly wage would be enough to test players at every club in the Championship, L1, & L2 and still leave him enough to live on.
The FA Cup has ceased to be a special competition.
Of the past years it’s tried and tested format has been whittled away but by bit at the behest of PL teams involved in Europe.
Firstly no second replays at neutral grounds (we can all remember at least one of those. V Hartlepool at Roker Park for me!) then penalty shootouts. Semi finals at Wembley, the final at stupid O’clock on a Saturday.
The European competitions obviously make more money than the FA Cup, because that’s what it’s about isn’t it? Money!
Let’s hope Ilkeston are shite otherwise there will be a clammer for Carruthers to be the next manager.
No worries there then!
“Are you Scunthorpe in disguise?”
Although the stats will say that was our sixth defeat out of eight league games I think yesterday could have been the turning point.
I’m not sure if you can really assess the performance the way we have done previous weeks because of the circumstances. Firstly the long term injuries were still missing (although good to see Clarke on the bench) plus a couple of new ones in Eisa and Watson. Looks like we had another 4/5 isolating plus of course the main coaches including the manager.
The game should have been postponed, but it wasn’t. Many of our starting XI would never have played together in a competitive match before. Howard had only arrived 48hrs earlier.
Okay we lost 3-1 which looks like a bad defeat, but as outlined above, individually no one had as bad a performance as we witnessed against Cambridge & Cheltenham. As Lesgeo says, we learned a lot about the squad yesterday. I’m certainly not as depressed as I was last weekend.
I don’t want to sound like UTI99 but I’ll scatter a few more crumbs of comfort. We’ve played six of the top seven teams and taken points off two of them. And believe it or not there is still a team worse than us both in terms of points and GD!
Bartonscorpion, you clearly think Cox should go sooner than later. But what is the option? Another manager coming in to work with players he didn’t sign?
Like life is at the moment, we’re going to have to tough it out until we can find a cure for the malaise.
And more so the government should have instructed the Efl on what position to take.
😂🤣😂🤣
Yeah, right!
ROWE–4–Did not really notice him playing, just went missing throughout.
Missed the goal then?
REF–1–Best ref seen for years, got everything right.
Is this your attempt at sarcasm BS?
Nathan Stanton’s claret & blue army!
Another weird “work that one out” formation!
One CB? Howard must be good!
That’s to protect those of a nervous disposition.
I’d like to hope Bournemouth and Forest are paying the wages. Or at least at large proportion of them.
It’s our best chance of seeing a proper right back on Saturday.
Word on Twitter is Dean Parrott.
Failed to keep Stevenage off the bottom of the table
Would hope we’re looking at better.
He used to drive an Audi TT back in the day.
Back to a convalescence home on the south coast then.
1) If this guy is so good, why was he out of contract?
Mario Balotelli is a free agent at the moment, as is Mario Mandzukic, Fabio Borini and Oumar Niasse.
2) A squad of 31 players, how is that manageable?
Ask the transfer “committee”!
Great news! I can allow myself a small modicum of optimism until Saturday afternoon.
Rory wants to take the positives from this and learn from Howard. As much as Mussy can coach during the week there’s no substitute for watching how an experienced keeper behaves during a competitive match.
Similar experience at FB or CMF and I’ll be feeling better.
What’s the betting Hippolyte is back?
Isn’t swan & mayo what the Queen takes on a picnic?
Do property developers/racehorse owners automatically know anything about football?
Do Old Etonian journalists automatically know anything about virology?
No! But it doesn’t stop them behaving like they do.
