We’d need THE POPE and his mate upstairs to get us scoring!

We need someone who will bust a gut to get on the end of balls. Who will use a bit of pace and nous to nip in in front of a defender.

He doesn’t have to be big and nasty, just up for it. We may even have such a person on our books.

I said the same in another thread WG.

And he’s just one of a whole (to use your terminology) raft of poor signings that hardly ever feature, and when they do look completely out of their depth.

    Our recruitment policy stinks!

Five Ryan Lofts do not equal one Andy Keogh.

He should get an experienced manager in till end of season, pay up/send the crap back and give it a go.

But he won’t. He’ll put Wilcox back i/c till the end of the season. The crap will stay. The best we can hope for is a couple of loans.

BRI – what happened to your New Year resolution?

I will however say that miss was most likely one of the worst I’ve seen.

I remember Graham Rusling putting one over the bar from inside the six yard box with an open goal in front of him!

Agree with most of the above, but JC, can you really see what you suggest in your last paragraph actually happening?

Even if it did Swann’s recent recruitment record is not particularly inspiring.

we also have the poorest keeper the club has ever had in 70 years,

    Behave!

Doubt if he’s in the top five. Won us two points on Tuesday. Did you forget that?

Funny how people will automatically blame a keeper for conceding too many goals and a CF for not scoring enough. Wasn’t Novak your whipping boy last season?

    Team game.

Yet you write like a ten year old who didn’t get the present he wanted for Christmas!

although we are in dire trouble no action is being taken by top management.

Did you read Peter Swann’s New Year suicide letter the other day? If you did you’ll know why no action has been taken and why it is unlikely that any will be this January.

We ALL know it’s crap. We all know that the club signed a bargain bucket of non-league hopefuls in the summer and then appointed a rookie manager to try and polish the turds.

Given the fact that we are losing £££££s every week, with no prospect of fans being allowed back into the stadium anytime soon, please give us the benefit of your 69 years of support and tell us what the club should do.

How did we contemplate signing so many in the summer?

What’s positive about that for the majority of football fans?. Please remove to non football.

    Well said!

Although we do seem to have a number of players who are in for one week, then out for the next three.

How do we know whether he’s better or worse than Jarvis?

Aye, we didn’t really need any more proof of a parody account.

One would think it’s bad enough individuals having to self-isolate without the country doing it as well!

Well what do I know eh?

Least we saw a bit of effort (from most) tonight. Needed those three points to keep our heads above water.

Frustratingly if we’d won those so called “winnable” games against Southend, Grimbo & Mansfield we’d have been in the playoffs.

    Funny old game!

Agree with your list Sanfran, but the worrying thing is it contains only one inexperienced keeper and one experienced striker.

These problems badly need addressing next month, but as we are presently awash with keepers and strikers I can’t see it happening.

    Interesting stats.

No one has drawn more games than Walsall, and no one has drawn fewer than us. No one has lost more than us either, but amazingly Walsall have registered only one more win.

If I was a neutral I’d probably go for a 1-1 draw, but as I’m not stick with a home win!

I’ve noticed a number of pubs & cafes in my area that have taken advantage of closure to redecorate and/or do maintenance work.

It will be interesting to see if SUFC have undertaken similar improvements since the turnstiles closed in March.

Or are we waiting for NLC to grant full planning permission for the refurbishment/rebuild?

Had to write the squad down to get my head round this. And after “sending home” the loans we have: –

    Rory Watson
    Adam Kelsey
    Mark Howard
    Tom Collins
    Jordan Clarke
    Harrison McGahey
    Manny Onariase
    Lewis Butroid
    Jai Rowe
    Charlie Barks
    Mason O’Malley
    Jacob Bedeau
    Alex Gilliead
    Kevin Van Veen
    Abobaker Eisa
    Ryan Loft
    Aaron Jarvis
    Lewis Spence
    Kenan Dunnwald-Turan
    George Hornshaw
    Tom Pugh
    Finley Shrimpton
    Raynner Silva
    Junior Brown
    Devarn Green
    Myles Hippolyte
    Andy Dales
    Jordan Hallam
    Alfie Beestin
    Olufela Olomola
    Harry Jessop
    John McAtee

The first thing that you notice is the four keepers, none of whom are that great (some would say a liability). However the defence doesn’t look too bad, although the addition of another CB would help.

A real mixed bag of midfielders who blow hot and cold (more cold than hot), but with the noticeable absence of any real leadership.

And the forwards? Tell me if you find two!

Can’t disagree with the OP but take those 7/8 out and you’ve still got two dozen hanging around. Okay so some of these are untested youngsters, but there’s still a whole starting XI that leave you thinking “why are they here?”

Last January we were told that the club would have to cut its wage bill. Out with the old and expensive, in with the new and inexpensive. The trouble with cheap produce is that you tend to buy more because it isn’t as good as the decent stuff. And that’s what seems to have happened to our recruitment.

Our bin is overflowing, but will the refuse collectors arrive in the New Year?
