He will do a lot better for them than the last ex Iron “superstar” they signed.
If Carlsberg did condescending arrogance they would call it Bucksiron.
Covid’s silver lining.
The only good thing about that game is I only wasted a few quid and 2 hours of my life.
Normal times I would have wasted the whole day and a £100 or so travelling down there for it.
They are exactly the type of players that need a leader or two to keep them on their toes every game.
Much as I like Clarke he is not that leader. I think Gillead is our best player and he is not either.
Step up Karajan or Spence perhaps?

In my view only McAtee has demonstrated laziness this season. We are short of players though that “set the tone” for the rest of the team to respond to. I mean demonstrating that every match and indeed every challenge is important.
Gillead, O’Malley and Onaraise are the only ones who have done this consistently this season which is probably why most fans like these guys. Karajan did it from the moment he appeared although he seemed subdued against Exeter the other night. I am prepared to put that one down to fitness.
The four of them lead by example but none have the vocal presence the likes of Bishop and Murphy used to have. If you didnt work hard enough when those guys played then you knew about it fairly quickly. Imagine how Murphy would have reacted to McAtee trying a hopeful backheel and then slowly walking back to the halfway line.
The rest of the team work hard enough but only just enough unless the team are having a good period in the game. They can all disappear or go through the motions when things are not going so well. I would have like to have seen a few players furious when they walked off after the game on Tuesday – not because we lost to a decent team but because we did not even compete with them.
I think it is less about laziness and more about intensity. Does it matter enough? Am I afraid of getting a bollocking from my peers for letting my team down?
O’Malley and Bedeau were OK. Rest were sh1te at best.
Feel for the Exeter keeper. Long way to come for feck all.
If we still had a League 1 play off level team then a point would be poor. When you are 17th in League 2 probably OK.
Personally I’m expecting them to celebrate my birthday with a win.
Agree NI. Have voted for number 5 but suspect we will end up with the tie and die gone wrong look.

Not great football but a great shift put in by the whole team.
Feed the Beest.

Today’s game could well set the tone for the rest of the season.
We have a run of 5 games against teams with promotion aspirations and 3 of them are away.
We probably need 10 points or better from the 5 games if we are to spend the rest of the season looking upwards. To have much chance of that we probably have to win today. If we lose 3 or 4 of them we will be back looking over our shoulders.
It’s less a case of deciding to attack or defend. To beat good sides (which at this level all 5 teams are) then we need to do both things well.
Let’s have KVV and McGahey in from the start and have a go.
Agree NI. Onariase looks top drawer at this level and has been the outstanding performer during our recent good run.
Time for McGahey to return or for Bedeau to step up and deliver on his undoubted ppotential.
Good idea Awaywego. Best channel our inner Wilcox.
Win every game until we’re top and then draw our way back to the playoffs.
Iron fans should be OK to socially distance in our half of Wembley.

Much as I like Brown I’m struggling to see how he is getting in ahead of O’Malley.
The ethos of the club is now supposed to be the development of young players and O’Malley is the best we have.
He was being “rested” last time he was dropped. We’ve not played for 11 days.
Strange.
If you were planning to make a pitch unplayable then waterlogging it, dropping the temperature to freezing for days on end and putting a covering of snow over the top would be a good way to go.
Not forecast to get much above zero between now and Tuesday evening.
Might be caught between leaving the frost covers off to let the wind help dry the pitch and putting them on to combat the temperature.
Good chance of being off I reckon.
I would have thought Clarke was ample cover for Rowe.
I see Wigan have signed Jamie Proctor from Rotherham.
Should guarantee we see them in League 2 next season.
Amazing how these wage theives keep getting contracts.
Report in the Express names 7 managers Wimbledon are supposed to be considering. Cox doesn’t make the list.
You are right BLT. He did play against Bradford on Tuesday.
Part of a defence that’s let in 8 in 2 games.
If you left anything outside in Hull it would disappear in 5 minutes.

Loft is probably the one most likelyto need a breather after an hour or so.
Unless Turan has managed to work himself back into favour then why not give Dawson 20 minutes or so.At least the players have 8 dayes recovery time after this one.
Get yourself off to Specsavers Barton if the lockdown ever ends.
I said Vale were an OK side with a crap back four.
They are more capable of playing football than most of the other relnegation threatened teams but as we well know if your back four is poor the good football counts for little. Unless you opponents deliberately stop attacking of course.
No I didn’t BS and I agree it’s not a tactic I agree with.
Vale are an OK league 2 team with a poor and slow defence. Dropping back for me meant we stopped putting pressure on their weaknesses and allowed them the opportunity to do the things they are better at. This time we got away with it. Usually we dont.
I really wish coaches would forget the myth of “managing the game”. It works for Guardiola who has 25 players who can keep the ball for fun. It certainly does not work at the arse end of Leagues 1 and 2.
I would haver brought off Loft who was out on his feet and continually played balls past their statuesque back 4 and watched Eisa, Green and Hallam terrorise them.
Having said all of that I’ll take a dire 90 minutes on Friday if we get a result. We can worry about decent football when we have 50 points.

The difference then BLT was that Holmes, Morris and Haks were good enough and smart enough to get up and support Toney at the right times.
They also carried a genuine goal threat themselves. He is a little gem
Quick shout out for Howard tonight.
Hope he had his Fitbit on. I reckon he covered more distance in his box tonight than he did in his previous games put together.
Keep it up Mark. You know it makes sense.
What we do know BS is that we have kept a clean sheet for 2 games at home for the first time in the best part of 3 years (thanks to Iron Stats for that information).
Don’t much care for the second half tactics myself either but we can only criticise it when it doesn’t work.
Get the boys in a socially distanced ice bath and let’s go for 9 points in 6 days at Colchester on Friday.
By the way BS is Loft still a donkey?
I was taking the urine out of the doctor Mick. Anything close to mid table makes me a happy camper.
It is a spectacularly poor league this season.
If you want to be ridiculous we are only 12 points off automatic promotion.
I bet one of our posters still thinks Loft is a bigger donkey than Novak.
The only time this season we have followed a good Saturday result with a good Tuesday result was when we played Vale away.
It’s the hope that kills you!
