Excellent game. Amazing how much better a game of football is when both teams are trying to win.

We managed 3 seasons in the Championship under the amateurs that used to run the club.

Makes you proud to be one of the morons.

Didn’t realise it was Cass that spent 11 million turning us into a pub team.

Thanks for pointing that out. The last 8 years must just have been a bad dream.

    I feel strangely optimistic today.

So I think Southend will drop points meaning our routine 3-0 defeat will not matter.

Not sure yet if my optimism stretches to us having an effort on target.

Agree it is a fairly considered response given the understandable emotion going around.

From what we know of Mr Swann I am sure the last thing he wants to be known as is the man that took us out of the league.

If we make it this season though he s going to have to change something to stop it happening next year. That’s 3 dire seasons in a row we have either been relegated or come uncomfortably close to it.

Do we just protest and spit our dummies out every time we have a bad season?

No but when we have 3 disastrous seasons in a row then I reserve the right to be pissed off about it.

Am having a proper moan about Niel’s tactics but this is totally out of order. Criticise the decisions not the person and certainly not his family. Mother of God!

I understand ups and downs and if I was only looking for good times I would not have stuck with the Iron for 56 years.

Until this season we have never had a team whose primary tactic is to keep the score down.

It is quite difficult uti99 for those that care very deeply for the club to stand by doing nothing while the current shit show plays out.

Going into games against 2 very mediocre teams that have nothing to play for and hoping we might keep the score down to one or two and praying we might manage a shot on target across the 2 games is a desperate situation to be in.

My personal hope is that Southend are an even bigger basket case than we are.

If that situation is OK by you then you are either a member of the family or a fecking idiot or perhaps both.

The amount of sh1te that’s been on it this last 9 months it would be a waste not to grow something on it.

Suspect that is what Vader had in mind.

The ground is worthless except to the football club.

Did not the chairman state (quite a few years ago) that the sale of the land would cover the 18 million build cost of his first proposed new stadium complex.

Ferrite asks a valid question – we can protest about the state of the club but that is rather a statement of the bleeding obvious.

Alcazar and a few others want the rich guy to walk away whatever the consequences.

Personally I would like the chairman to employ a competent football manager, give him a reasonable but not excessive League 2 budget and then let him get on with rebuilding a football team and complete backroom staff from scratch while he gets on with his apartments, racehorses and other businesses.

Get it done Peter – you have sacked 8 or 9 better managers than this one.

    Cox in 5-4-1 shock.

I bet Newport get more free headers in the box than Loft has touches of the ball.

    I put “dont know”

Yes I am worried about the state of the club and the team but whilst I think the chairman has made some fundamental and expensive mistakes I have yet to see proof he does not have the best interests of the club at heart.

I certainly don’t blame him for trying to stop the financial bleeding.

I will continue to call out when I think he makes bad decisions but will not criticise his integrity until he gives me reason to do so.

Hope you are more or less correct Daz.

The most suspect part of your reasoning is us getting a point anywhere at the moment and of course we always get bullied and spanked at Newport even when we have a good side.

One point for us or 1 defeat for Southend and Cods and we don’t really care about the rest.

    Who is better Ferrite?

Gillead and Karajan the only players who have shown anything like League 1 capability and desire this season. Van Veen, Eisa, McGahay have shown it for brief periods in the past but not this season.

The performances over the last few games would not win many points in the Conference either.

I saw it but don’t believe it.

Not content with leaving our second best player (Karajan) on the bench he has now tried to rescue the game by taking off our best player.

    You couldn’t make it up.

I have never criticised Cox so far given he walked into such a difficult situation.

However, todays line up is capable of at least mid table League 2 football.

We now get battered regularly by teams that are sh1te.

Doing what the Chairman tells you is the only positive quality this management team seem to have.

What a sorry state we are in. Not sure I can be arsed to watch the second half.

Swann owned the club, the ground and the land last week.

    He still owns all 3.

We are no more or less at his mercy than we were before.

Premier league 2 formed by kicking 2 clubs out of the self appointed best league in the world and adding Rangers and Celtic.

A league with 4 teams in it?

Means lots of old firm matches I suppose whilst financially crippling the rest of Scottish football.

    Great idea David.

To be fair to the guy what is he suposed to say after the last 3 performances.

More interested in what he does than what he says. No reason to be playing anyone in the departure lounge. It is time to find out what our starting point is for next season.

Probably a bit of both Cass.

Prior to their combacks from recent injuries Onaraise and Taft had very few bad games. Both have looked off the pace on their returns. McGahey (who I really rate as a player) has looked off the pace and unfit whenever he has played this season.

It is a difficult one and stats sometimes do lie.

I think the latest version of Rory has looked an improvement over Howard. He is at least as good at shot stopping. He has improved his kicking now the the same (mediocre) level of Howard and in the last few games has looked better coming off his line as Howard ever has done.

I think he has been undone by having unfit players in front of him – Onaraise, McGahay and Taft have had to be thrown in there too quickly and have all played sh!te since Rory’s return.

When people were calling this our worst ever side I could not agree at the time.

Changed my mind – any team that manages to make Perch look like a footballer is just about as bad as it is possible to be.

I can understand the referee and Mansfield team coming off when the drone appeared but we could have stayed on given we are unable to get within 5 yards of anything in the air.
