Got mine over the weekend. Figured I will probably end up at the best part of 23 shite games anyway so might as well do it as cheaply as possible.
Do we think the site has some kind of virus?
Am currently dithering Les. Got until Monday to save a few quid on the early bird thing.
I have zero optimism for the season and I think the team will be shite for the fourth season running. But…they are my shite and have been for 50 odd years. What else would I have to moan about.

Les if the Iron is the only football you watch then I can understand why you prefer cricket.

I have never showed any loyalty to the company I worked for when another company offered me significantly more money. Would have had a problem selling it to my family if I had.
I judge Hayes on what he did when he was here and most of it was very good. He was never in the Novak headless chicken mode of chasing lost causes but he delivered quality football and qualifies as a modern day Iron legend to me.

No. Only room for one opinion here.

It was a very brave player that did not put in a shift or continually made the same mistakes when Bish and Murphy were running the midfield.
Not the best ball players we ever had but demanded and often got the best out of those around them.

3 seasons of decline, a 3rd bottom finish and low wages on offer.
Anyone signing for us before the end of May is either:
(a) Desperate
(b) Sh1te
(c) A member of the chairman’s family
(d) Any combination of the aboveOur best bet is finding a few half decent players who press the panic button in late July or early August and decide the Iron are better than the jobcentre.

I think he is a good player and have said so a number of times but not sure he would have made the starting line up only 4 or 5 seasons ago.
A measure of how far we have fallen.
Thanks Matt for organising once again.
As for my shoddy performance I am a lot like the Iron. Too many match days I forget to turn up.
I think you will find the players will get paid even if backofthenet18 does not attend.
If the directors, coaches and players got paid according to crowd size we might get a few more shots on target.

I rest my case Mick – not many.
Probably remains classified as a Motorway until the roundabout they are constructing actually opens and then it will be reclassified as the A1077.
I can give you a clue of who its going to be by putting it in two categories.
All the good ones will be gone and all the bad ones will be retainedNot maNY leaving then.
Russ used negative tactics for about the last 12 games of the L2 promotion season when we were clearly the best team in the division.
Got us promoted but certainly cost us a comfortable championship and frayed the nerves of supporters.
I think Cox has been negative tactically because he knows he has one of the poorest teams in the League. Russ would have done the same but probably got us to finish 2 or 3 places higher had he been in charge this season.
Not always agreed with Russ on tactics but there is no doubts about his professionalism and integrity as a player and a coach over many years for the Iron.
Thank you and good luck with whatever you do next.

Thanks for the info – that’s one extra member signed up.
Only thing to do with the Iron that I trust at the moment.
Or alternatively we put the Turan’s and the Jarvis’ straight into the first team given there are no u23 games to find out how good (or not) they are.
I suspect the amount of cash wasted on Turan, Jarvis and Mooney is a very small proportion of the £11million spent to get us into a worse place than when we started.
Also without Russ giving them a grounding in the clubs preferred tactics (win every game 0-0) where are they going to learn the negative mindset.
The ginger haired midfielder for Hebburn looked a very decent player. Can’t remember his name but the commentators said he was ex Newcastle youth.
Played more accurate passes to forwards in 1 game than our midfield has managed this season.
I also gave up on the Harrogate game Ferrite.
Need to be clear about what we are protesting about and what different outcome is wanted. I don’t give a monkey’s who the chairman is – just want him to get on with “chairman” things and employ some football professionals to give us some football and footballers worth watching.
Same as you Cass – dont think I will stop going. However, will not buy a season ticket this year and if the football is as dire as we have seen on iFollow this year I wont get past October. Not wasting time and money watching utter sh!te while freezing my rocks off.

Excellent game. Amazing how much better a game of football is when both teams are trying to win.
We managed 3 seasons in the Championship under the amateurs that used to run the club.
Makes you proud to be one of the morons.

Didn’t realise it was Cass that spent 11 million turning us into a pub team.
Thanks for pointing that out. The last 8 years must just have been a bad dream.

I feel strangely optimistic today.
So I think Southend will drop points meaning our routine 3-0 defeat will not matter.
Not sure yet if my optimism stretches to us having an effort on target.
Agree it is a fairly considered response given the understandable emotion going around.
From what we know of Mr Swann I am sure the last thing he wants to be known as is the man that took us out of the league.
If we make it this season though he s going to have to change something to stop it happening next year. That’s 3 dire seasons in a row we have either been relegated or come uncomfortably close to it.
Do we just protest and spit our dummies out every time we have a bad season?
No but when we have 3 disastrous seasons in a row then I reserve the right to be pissed off about it.
The winkers are out in force today.

Am having a proper moan about Niel’s tactics but this is totally out of order. Criticise the decisions not the person and certainly not his family. Mother of God!

Probably could NI but also probably true.
