It could be that players that have not played an efl league game are excluded from the 23 and therefore from the 1 year contract rule.
Millen and O’Neil have not played an efl league game.
There’s quite a few of us with a similar view over here TW.
Although to be fair your lot make our lot look like saints.
We can only do hopeful punts on our budget.
At least someone with professional football experience and qualifications is seeing them train and play before taking the punt.
Last year we seemed to hand out 2 year deals based on agent recommendations and you tube videos.
Rather have hopeful punts than useless cnuts.
I am hopeful we might end up with a better team than the one we had the previous season for the first time in at least 5 years.
Maybe not much better but just enough to keep our league status.
Still not one that I would choose but the kit doesn’t look so bad in the flesh.
I thought Pugh was a midfielder as well. Played well at right back both with and without the ball. Didn’t let himself be rushed like a lot of the young lads that came on later did (understandably given lack of experience).
Would like to see him get some time in midfield when Millen is available.
Rowe came on as centre back as I believe he did against Barton. I think that’s maybe where they see him long term. Played OK there when he came on.
Agree with Cass. It was great to see 2 up front.
Only a friendly but a better watch than 80% of games last season.
Bunn played wide right in the first half. Looked lively and put in some good crosses including the one for Tafts goal.
After a good 30 minutes Burton started to dominate the ball for the rest of the first half.
Bunn played more centrally (midfield) in the second half and was not as effective but helped Kenyon and Beeston get the midfield back. Kenyon looks an upgrade on Spence on that showing. More forward intent and braver passes. Of course it was only an early pre season friendly. Trialist B worked very hard and took is chance well when it came.
Loft worked hard as usual and put in a cracking air shot when his best chance came.
Young lads came on after 65 mins. All 11 for us changed and 5 or 6 in 2 hits for them and the game petered out although all the young lads did well.
Borthwick Jackson came on at half time for them and still hasn’t found his level yet. Still got a way downward to go – maybe the Cods next.

Told you that Trialist B was good.
Forgot to mention. Trialist A is Bunn I assume. No idea who B is.
Trialist A impressive.
B not so much so far.
2 up front though which is a bit of a novelty.
Unsubscribed after the first pointless email detailing poor offers on stuff I didn’t want.
It is a bit strange though that SUFC offers 10% on their own stuif and 70% of Liverpool’s.
If you have access to a printer Vader you can buy your ticket online and print it out.
Also if you have a smartphone then the confirmation email has the code which you can use to get in.
Unfortunately if you have neither then your in the queue anyway so no point buying online.
I must be old fashioned. I just want a team of players trying to win football matches and at least occasionally succeeding.
The rest of it is nice to have but not worth much without the football.
We have had precious little of that for 3 years now.

Probably wouldn’t survive on a bag of toffees a week.
Not sure when it was that right wing racists became the self appointed voice of the working class.
They certainly don’t represent me.
Must have had at least 4 trialists for both to be true.
Both things potentially good news. Surely the purpose of having trialists is to make a judgement on ability and character. It seemed last year judgements were based on agent recommendations and you tube clips.
Except Bunn and Thompson expected to sign.
Certainly doesn’t make you guilty. I think it means the charge or charges have been dropped.
I wouldn’t make a judgement myself as I wasn’t there.
I found out about Colclough’s arrest on (un)social media.
Doncaster local paper then reported the facts of the arrest. Not sure what they could/should have done differently.
Strictly speaking he has not been found guilty or innocent. Not sufficient evidence to secure a prosecution apparently. This happens many times every day and if the fault lies anywhere it is probably with the police for persusing the case without sufficient evidence.
On a football note the extremely talented footballer that is Ryan Colclough had long since stopped contributing anything positive to the team before this incident. In truth he didn’t contribute very much in his whole Iron career – relative to his talent.
Hopefully he can put this behind him and get his life and his football into a better place.
Careful NI. Could be construed as racist!
A bit rich from someone spouting obscenities in this thread.
What are you basing that on Smudger?
Not the most skilful of players but I always had him in the top 2 or 3 for effort when he played.
Jumped ship. Can’t say I blame him.
Terminology alert BRI.
Apparently you don’t commit to being a Marxist – you become trained in it. Seems the training makes you an eve more despicable human being.
Must be true because its on you tube.
Could someone please move this bollocks to non football?

You would think if you had a spouse convicted of a couple of sexual assaults you would keep your gob shut about someone being distracted from his day job trying to get poverty stricken kids a meal.

When our (ex) racist PM is calling it out you know it must be bad.
I’m talking about sending out a team to manage a 1-0 lead for the whole of the second half. Then not realising it’s not working and not making substitutions that obviously needed making after 55 minutes.
Talking about leaving Mason Mount on the pitch for 100 minutes when he is doing nothing positive. Nothing against Mount, he is a fine player but not tonight.
Talking about sending 2 young players on with a minute to go and asking them to take penalties inhe nations biggest game in 55 years. After 4 weeks of telling them a 19 year old that’s done jack shit in a poor team is better than them.
Talking about letting 2 middle aged central defenders wish they had brought their pipes and slippers.
Never watched a tournament in my 67 years where England have had the best 26 players but we did this time.
Lovely man, Shite coach.
Am I being harsh?
Masterclass of coaching incompetence.
Turning into bruAnon on here.

Good to see a sense of humour creeping into a few posts.
It must be nearly football season time and we will certainly all need a sense of humour this season.

Including an appearance by the lesser spotted German.
Looking at the teams it seems Spence won the raffle for first place on the physio table.
