Nice to see Bru posters raising their game and posts now mainly about football. Seems a couple of years at least since that was the case.
Once the stragglers let go of Hilton and Dean we’ll be sorted. The behind the scenes stuff is thankfully dull now we have adults in charge.
Most important a bit of a run gives the lads not getting regular starts the chance to get/keep sharp.
Better than behind closed doors friendlies.
Keep up the scouting reports Phil.
Good work.
Shame for you SOD. Must be closer than a home game for you.
Always thought going to the gym was bad for you.

Could be another 1st vs 2nd clash.

Got mine quick after missing out last season.
Bad, sad times IFA. Sorry to hear.
Hopefully the Iron can keep things going and give you a bit of cheer.

They played some really good 1 and 2 touch stuff in the high intensity first 20 minutes.
We dealt with that impressively and they actually created very little. Their only good chance came from Maxi’s slack backpass.
We gradually got hold of the midfield and they started to go aimlessly long. Kiddy were better for me than any side we played last season which puts our performance into perspective.
An unexpected bit of class and honesty from Brown in his post match interview. That’s how you deal with getting beaten by a better team Mr Dickman (how apt that name).
They get about 2,500 to home games so you would think they would have managed about 300 for a Saturday game.
Be interesting to see how many make it tonight.
2-0 home win

I’d rather we lost it trying to win it than draw it trying not to lose.

Dean also finished comfortably second albeit in a lower league.
Cox had a more difficult gig as did Daws but each were bettered by Nelson if only for a brief period.
From recent times Hill definitely Cox probably.

Might see him in the Lincs Cup later on the season.
Wish him well An OK bloke who dealt with the Hilton farce with some dignity.

Let’s hope Friday it’s tango man justifying how his “better team” lost 3-0.
talk bollocks
Thought that was what football forums were for.

Their keeper was booked in their previous game for time wasting. Sadly everyone does it and much better refs than the NLN throws up are unwilling or unable to stop it.
I thought Jimmy was a bit delusional at times but that fella takes the biscuit. 15 passes between your centre backs and goalie before one of them hoofs it forward does not constitute good football and rarely delivers winning football.
I do believe it was the Tories house journal that did for Sven.
Can’t have these foreigners taking our jobs when we could have Steve McClaren instead.
Good call Cass. Comfortably their best player today.
Reckon their keeper, centre backs and right wing back had over 50% of their possession but it was possession without intent.
A lot of their play was a bit like watching us at times last season.

They made him the Iron’s MOM mainly because they thought he’d scored.
His effort that hit the bar was unlucky would have been a great goal.
Was it just me or is Roberts starting to look a bit more comfortable as a 10 now he is starting to use the full width of the pitch rather than staying central?

Was starting to think NI was a jinx but that’s put to bed now.
About as straight forward as tricky away games get. Well done Butlers boys.
Top of the table clash Friday then.
The stream commentators mangling of Iron names was almost as entertaining as the match.

I see according to the OWS we are playing the South Shields in East Anglia today.
Hope the 400 or so haven’t set off in the wrong direction. Still we might snatch a win if we’re not playing in the north east.
Don’t hold your breath NI.
Your “local” games were what cost us the league title and Dean his job last season.
Blyth
South Shields
Spennymoor
Darlington
Scarborough15 points at home with 20 goals for and 3 against.
2 points away with 2 goals for and 8 against.
Hopefully Butler will be a bit braver away from home.

If Oldham and Southend could manage to get themselves promoted this season and we can do the magic double (clear debts and win promotion) then we would be financially competitive with most.

Despite the team getting a bit sloppy yesterday after the substitutions I still think we will go up this season.
Two more seasons to get out of the National League if we can keep the level of support up.
Hoping to live at least that long.

Spot on Awaywego we all get stuff wrong but let’s take a bit of joy when we get it right.
To be fair one fella gave me the advice out in the shop then passed me to a younger fella that took payment whilst the first one went to check if they could do the name and number straight away.
Another young fella who was going to do the printing came to check exactly what I wanted on the shirts.
I popped over to Jollies for a sack of dog food while they were doing the printing then a pleasant lady gave me my shirts when I went back. All were busy and multi tasking but all efficient and pleasant with it.
If it hadn’t cost me £140 it would have been a pleasant experience. By the way my son in law bought them Arsenal shirts last season for £180 each. Apparently they don’t sell kids shirts only the whole kit even though the shorts they send out with kits for 4 and 6 year old would fit teenagers.
By comparison the lady in Jollies was fairly miserable and when I asked why the dog food was £60 instead of the £50 I usually pay was told – that’s the price. Pets at Home next month then.
