They made him the Iron’s MOM mainly because they thought he’d scored.
His effort that hit the bar was unlucky would have been a great goal.
Was it just me or is Roberts starting to look a bit more comfortable as a 10 now he is starting to use the full width of the pitch rather than staying central?

Was starting to think NI was a jinx but that’s put to bed now.
About as straight forward as tricky away games get. Well done Butlers boys.
Top of the table clash Friday then.
The stream commentators mangling of Iron names was almost as entertaining as the match.

I see according to the OWS we are playing the South Shields in East Anglia today.
Hope the 400 or so haven’t set off in the wrong direction. Still we might snatch a win if we’re not playing in the north east.
Don’t hold your breath NI.
Your “local” games were what cost us the league title and Dean his job last season.
Blyth
South Shields
Spennymoor
Darlington
Scarborough15 points at home with 20 goals for and 3 against.
2 points away with 2 goals for and 8 against.
Hopefully Butler will be a bit braver away from home.

If Oldham and Southend could manage to get themselves promoted this season and we can do the magic double (clear debts and win promotion) then we would be financially competitive with most.

Despite the team getting a bit sloppy yesterday after the substitutions I still think we will go up this season.
Two more seasons to get out of the National League if we can keep the level of support up.
Hoping to live at least that long.

Spot on Awaywego we all get stuff wrong but let’s take a bit of joy when we get it right.
To be fair one fella gave me the advice out in the shop then passed me to a younger fella that took payment whilst the first one went to check if they could do the name and number straight away.
Another young fella who was going to do the printing came to check exactly what I wanted on the shirts.
I popped over to Jollies for a sack of dog food while they were doing the printing then a pleasant lady gave me my shirts when I went back. All were busy and multi tasking but all efficient and pleasant with it.
If it hadn’t cost me £140 it would have been a pleasant experience. By the way my son in law bought them Arsenal shirts last season for £180 each. Apparently they don’t sell kids shirts only the whole kit even though the shorts they send out with kits for 4 and 6 year old would fit teenagers.
By comparison the lady in Jollies was fairly miserable and when I asked why the dog food was £60 instead of the £50 I usually pay was told – that’s the price. Pets at Home next month then.
1-0 home win

Great news. Predict he will go to a higher level for some decent dosh before the contracts up.
Swayed perhaps by statistically our best start in my lifetime and I’m old.
First 3 wins from 3 since the 1940’s and the first 3 clean sheets from 3 since early 50’s. Bound to feck it up Saturday then!

Quick reminder of our first 3 games last season.
At Tamworth we barely kicked the football in the first half let alone kept possession. They scored 1 and should have scored 3. Inexplicably they handed us a goal just before half time which undeservedly got us into a game. We then snatched a scrappy and fortunate winner in a very poor second half.
We then huffed and puffed at home against Peterborough Sports who were probably the leagues poorest side to not get relegated. Drew that one.
Then Rushall away, another team fighting against relegation all season. They created about 6 good chances and scored none. We created 2 chances and scored 3 – the third was a cross from Denton to nobody that looped in.
I watched Tamworth about 5 times last season on National League tv and they never excited me once. Their football never flowed freely. They never controlled possession for long periods. They never looked like not winning the game.
This league is about physicality, attitude, organisation and constantly doing the basics of football all over the pitch. Carry on Butler until we are out of this league.
We won’t be seeing any glimpses of good football until we’re challenging at the top of the league above and we won’t see it consistently until we’re back in the EFL.
Time to put this feeling of “big club” entitlement in the bin and enjoy the muck and nettles.

Agree Ironawe. He was prepared to risk losing 1 point to try and gain 3.
Dean would have gone 5-4-1, dropped deep and probably lost that one.

I recall NM’s three on two attack mid-second half. A fantastic piece of alertness as Whitehall thundered back to help the defence out of desperate trouble.
Hit the woodwork twice and scored a penalty. A cat’s whisker away from a hat trick. His general play was better than Saturday.
Drop him?He wants to drop the man who has led the defence to 3 clean sheets and scored a couple of goals in his spare time as well.
It was for 16 minutes anyway.
Decent looking pitch. Grass at least which is a positive.
Have those folks on the right paid to get in or is it some rich persons balcony?
Got to have a good reason to change a team that wins 3-0.
If Roberts is going to learn to play the 10 role he won’t learn it on the bench.
1-3 to the Iron.

Marine obviously felt differently about Clunan given their midfield obviously were working a rota to foul him.
If Grant plays as well as he did when he was here there’s nothing to fear.
Go easy Old Man

Rare to see a team win 3-0 off less than 5% possession.
If he’d been a yard further back it would have cleared the stand mind.
11 of 15 Brackley players from yesterday played in the play off final. Of the 4 replacements for this season 3 came from EFL or National League with the other from NLS winners.
Same manager as well so don’t think their quality has dipped. They had a 10 minute spell just after half time and another little burst late on. They can play if you let them. Both their spells were a result of our wing backs resorting to being full backs.
Always the danger when you let 3 at the back become a 5. If they keep playing with that intensity for 45 more games we will have a great season.
Well it wouldn’t be the first time we have signed Duffus up front.
I agree with your 2-1 to the Iron though.
Bit of a leap Anderson. From speculating it’s Hooper to him signing and scoring on his second debut.
Not sure they would have been able to keep news of Hooper training with us quiet. Might be a virtual unknown who morphs into a top goalscorer a bit like Gary himself did.
Thanks BLT code was indeed in my junk mail.
