Loft was doubtful to make the bench on Friday he hadn’t trained all week by RH on Friday, great to see a win and the Miles Hippolyte of late that Chris Dagnall was praising when interviewed about his time with him at Yeovil and life with Keith Hill.

    Senior moment mick – McManus.
A very merry Christmas to all – even those I don’t usually/often/ever agree with.

not a senior moment Cass, Mick McMichael was a Donny lad and a household name at the same time as McManus and in the 70s just as famous.

The 57/58 Div 3(N) winning season I assume BS.

I was just a nipper living in Brigg still. But I remember the excitement around it. I have a photo of Jack Haigh heading in at SJP hanging on the wall at home.

Pride of place for when any Mags visit!

    Merry Christmas to you all.

NI, when I was a schoolboy Jackie Haigh and his mate the wrestler Mick McMichael often used to come fishing on the Chesterfield Canal just outside the back of our house.

It’s not the fact the building work hasn’t started (who honestly believes Swann will/can do anything?) its the fact Swann comes out with these statements and never, ever delivers any one of them. Some people still believe the crap he comes out with but part of the reason he isn’t trusted is because he keeps coming out with this stuff – he just likes being on the radio and listening to his own voice – what comes out of his mouth is irrelevant to him

the only thing he has delivered is the low budget.

it wasn’t getting to the Final the issue Ferrite, it was the tactics when we got there trying to hang on to a one goal lead for most of the game with a negative lineup and making attacking substitutions too late to try to win it.

So you would be equally unhappy if England had lost in the group stage, following that logic?

but we didn’t win so it was all just a waste of time.

Quite right, what positives or enjoyment could anyone have taken from things like beating Germany & thrashing Ukraine in the quarter-final?

but we didn’t play the same tactics getting to the final

I think you should have the jabs and if you don’t you are taking a bigger risk and also could be spreading it, I was Ill with the same symptoms before the Covid was announced and Doctors didn’t know what it was and didn’t know how to treat that infection and lots of other people had it, but Doctors now reckon it was Covid, but after having a chest infection for 7 weeks over twice the normal length of a chest infection I can assure you alcazar it wasn’t fun and Covid19 isn’t the flu and I know people who died from it, and it is the only time in my life I have had a tin of soup for Christmas Dinner, and spending most nights sleeping in the chair because it was a nightmare laying in bed because you had a struggle breathing when laid down, and since that time it has got a lot worse.

We lost but probably scored the best goal by a Scunthorpe player or through build up for years.

I know Chris Sumpter and he does it for a Sporting Agency and you see his reports on teletext and papers, so maybe someone who did it for the GT does it for BBC.

Well by the stats we had most of everything apart from goals.

Up the Iron, pity Keith Hill wasn’t here 18 months ago, sorry to say but Neil is a coach but not a manager, just a pity.

to be honest Pat I have enjoyed the Salford, Leyton and Bradford games, and the Donny FA Cup game wasn’t bad, there has been more entertainment in those games than we have seen in the last 2 seasons, at least it is value for money now and the opposition know they have been in a game and a lot has to be said about players ridiculed for being useless before now starting to look like pro footballers.

Hill said a lot of our injuries are caused by players not being fit enough, also Hill is full of praise for Kenyon because he is a leader, and talks to the players organising them.

Really enjoyed our performance today, certainly a lot more energetic and the team is playing for Keith Hill, the wind was a massive problem and I thought a few players who haven’t done much under Neil are starting to impress under Keith, we scored from a good header and it is a pity that effort didn’t go in which hit the bar, also praise for the ref for not buying their efforts for getting a cheap penalty on a couple of occasions.

I was at the game last night Cass and the only people in the press area were Tim Steere, Tom Newey and Chris Sumpter apart from the Leyton Orient reporters, had a quick word with Tom about Mike White who has the Covid and Chris who works for a National reporting company, Charlie Wilson and Paul Crute used to represent SET until they got banned from the press box and then sat elsewhere but now I don’t think the SET are allowed in the ground especially Max Bell who is banned.

I think that Hill will have learnt a lot from yesterday, the effort was there, ability wasn’t, organization wasn’t good, big gaps in defence which gave them a goal and could have given them a few more, we played with Kenyon in front of the center backs when probably you want someone behind, I don’t know whether the gaps between Taft and Manny is because they had been used to playing 3 in central defence, midfield looked lightweight, Pugh and Beestin can play a lot better, and the forward line terrible until Scrimshaw came on.

every time Orient broke forward in the second half they looked like scoring, especially after they brought Smyth on, luckily enough they didn’t have their shooting boots on, our defence were all over the place.
I don’t think any of our players apart from the keeper would get into the Orient team and basically we have a squad of bench warmers or reserves, couldn’t fault the effort but we are lightweight all over the pitch.

I agree with Cliff on this one, it was a point gained against a team that missed some sitters yet our keeper though he played well and was commanding in the air never had a serious shot to save, the chance that hit the post was comedy between our defenders losing the ball after getting each others way, Scrimshaw made a big difference but their players looked stronger than ours and agree with Hill about fitness but our defence gave me the jitters today and I can’t believe we got a draw after being overrun second half.
