Shame we sold him, I always rated him.
I saw a video of him playing for Galatasaray against Liverpool. He looked great but it was a long time ago.
L2 could suit him as Turkish football is imho a bit tough compared to, for example our premier league.
I just hope he is the answer we need in midfield.

This is the kind of match we should be winning. Big shame!

Lol, I’m right even if I try to delete the thread!
Losing to the cod heads is totally unacceptable, and to do it without even getting into the game is worse.
The future is looking bleak for The Iron. Cox will almost certainly be sacked before finishing the season, and Swanny will find another mug to manage our slide into non league football.
It’s the same old, same old. Everyone who voted Brexit is a racist and anyone who voted for the Tories is either a nasty, thieving b*stard or was brainwashed by the media. Pointless even attempting to have a sensible discussion, quite frankly.
As for the benefits of leaving the EU, if people can’t or refuse to see any of the benefits then they need to take the blinkers off and look a little harder. For instance, Ferrite, you’re hardly an example of a typical Brit given that you spend a great deal of time in Italy. In fact I believe you might even live there. To say you might therefore be biased would be something of an understatement.
Then we have the usual self-righteous nonsense from the likes of Gurnelista about racism despite never once getting a peep out of him about anti-Semitism. Why might that be, one wonders. It’s also interesting that you appear to have strong Spanish roots, Gurny. Absolutely nothing whatever wrong with that but it does suggest you might also have an element of bias in your opinions.
Regarding the economic disaster that leaving the EU is, apparently, about to cause our cat has more idea about economics than those on here making such claims. The EU needs the UK every bit as much, if not more than we need them. There might not be a deal but if there isn’t it will be down to them every bit as much as it will be to us; and I still wouldn’t be at all surprised if there is one. That is how the EU works.
I agree with your sentiments entirely, and it seems that the closer we get to Dec 31, the more the libtards increase the scaremongering.
I wouldn’t be surprised, come that fateful day, that both sides will agree to extending the so called ‘transition period.’ Thus giving them more time to chip away at what we want, and make more concessions to the EU…
It was our money that we contributed to the EU that they give us back, and our unions that achieved most of our employment rights alot that are better terms than EU citizens have. If any of our governments decide to water any down than we have the power to vote them out and vote for the rights we want, in football alone the Bosman ruling has done us no favours.
A lot of renoaners will never understand that we are net contributors to the EU. In other words we pay more than we get back. The original Trades Union Movement was a damn sight more important to improving workers rights than the EU could ever be.
I’m still confident that leaving will prove to have been a great move, and that others will follow. The only thing that does worry me is that as more nations exit the EU, who are already talking about creating their own military, another war in Europe could become a possibility. It’s not as if we have no history of it…
Why do you think I care about travellers have you read my posts, I like most dislike them.
So did Adolf Hitler (allegedly)
AWG, the thing is this. You and many others on here have been lied to so often and for so long, it’s hard to work out where the truth lies, except in your gut. It makes it even harder when people in high places say things that sound true and confirm your prejudices.
It’s reached a point where, if someone asks you why you think something, you can just make up an answer. And it really doesn’t matter what you say, because everyone is lying, and you can use it to convince other people and even yourself, just like a child does.
That’s what you did above, about the Roma, wasn’t it AWG? You heard a rumour about travellers and Cowling and made up the rest to make him look a hypocrite. And as if you cared anyway about French travellers in a Colchester car park!
But, it shows why so many people fall prey to conspiracies these days – they’ve been lied to for so long, and had their gut feelings confirmed by sly bastards in office and online, they think the only reason that actual proof is lacking, is because there’s a conspiracy to keep the truth from them about Brexit, Covid, vaccination, BLM and a host of other issues.
What’s the way forward? Come out and admit you’ve been lied to, had, cheated and bullshitted?
No, you’re too far up the tree – climbing down is too hard. If you’ve told your friends and family you’re a Kipper, a Brexiter and / or anti-BLM, etc. you can’t just turn around and admit you’ve been had. You’d look stupid!
But you could start by questioning things, asking for proper proof and not just believing what you read online, for example when you hear ‘a careful newspaper poll found that 100 million Turks were going to come to the UK – pass it on’ (thanks Les). Follow it up, a bit like you might with football rumours. Ask who, which poll, and in which newspaper, and whether anyone criticized it.
Recognise too, there are political interests out to press your buttons and pull your plonker because they know you like simple explanations to complex problems, explanations about foreigners, blacks, snowflakes, do-gooders, etc. That’s what keeps Farage, Johnson and co. sitting pretty, while the majority struggle to get by. ‘Don’t look up at us, look down and punch down’, they say. So, we have those on the far-right pulling your strings and making you angry, and laughing at the show of prole on prole, elderly white poor against young black poor, poor Brits against poor foreigners…
Oh, and that quotation about simple explanations a few posts above? It was from Jonathan himself, a couple of months back on his Twitterfeed. It seems even he’s now seen the light and is prepared to climb down from the height of stupidity, manufacturing simple explanations to whip up the proles into a frenzy. Strange – I thought it was how they got Brexit done.
It’s a funny old world.
SO, basically anyone who disagrees with what amounts to a steaming pile of pc crap, is a gullible idiot who believes all the ‘lies’ fed to him/her by establishment fascists?
Me? Well I must be barking! I voted for BREXIT every opportunity I got, and I’m so going to vote for Mr Farage’s Reform Party. I hate the EU, (and funnily enough so did my mum who used to sell Militant outside Boots on the weekend.) I don’t like Johnson but I predicted he would be PM ten years ago. I’ll make another prediction right now. Nigel Farage will be Prime Minister, it will be his first general election victory, and it will be within the next ten to fifteen years.
As for BLM? I believe that ALL lives matter equally. I don’t care about the history of different races, we have all been slaves.
Everyone has the right to be proud of who they are, I’m Scunthorpe and English. Damn right I’m proud, why shouldn’t I be?
This whole hiring and firing malarkey only works for the rich clubs. Your Man U, Man City, even Spurs. The further down the leagues you are, the more likely you only get a choice of someone else’s reject.
I can see why Swanny got a non leaguer in. Coxy hasn’t had the chance to fail yet. I hope he learns and turns into a really good manager. Right now he is trying his best to run when he has yet to master a slow jog.
Give him time. UTI
I grew up with gypsies when we moved south the first time, back in the 1970’s. I’m not going to go into chapter and verse about them or how they lived their lives. What I will say is that the locals hated them, but they were too scared to say so, those guys were and are hard as nails.
Never mind, I’ll get to the point, they always referred to themselves as travellers or travelling folk. Everyone else, including me, are gorgers.
I wouldn’t kneel or ‘take the knee’ for anyone. I don’t believe in God so I don’t kneel before the image of any deity.
I wouldn’t boo the team for doing it, although I might discretely close my eyes. Irrelevant of race, colour, religion, gender or sexuality, really I just don’t care.
Something happened thousands of miles away, and the police were to blame, regardless of their motive.
It was nothing to do with Scunthorpe or any other part of the UK…
Where’s Indea?
Frodingham Road…
He is obviously extracting the urine, as most posters on here hate the royal family and probably the country itself.
#leftisthaters
Have they got a team in the OAP Walk Ball League?
I have to believe we will finish off this season better than the last. If only because we have got shut of a lot of dead weight and replaced it with enthusiastic youth.
It is a shame that we have injuries to some of our more experienced players, Clark and Van Veen in particular. But they will be back, and hopefully their will be no distress signals in the meantime.

He has to succeed otherwise you lot will be shouting “Cox out” at every match! (Cringe)
I hope this appointment will bring about changes. We have a squad that is seriously lacking experience. A midfield general needs signing imho.
Whatever your views are, you should absolutely learn when to keep your mouth shut. As for abusing our own black players? Well that is unacceptable. Should be banned not only from Scunny FB, but also from Glanford Park and from buying tickets to away matches.
A serious warning from the police might well teach him about manners.
The biggest problem with the current situation is the big payoffs in managers contracts. I believe that option should be removed. So many crappy managers coming in and treating the Iron like a cash cow.
They start off taking the job seriously, but that doesn’t last long enough. Getting fired and getting the golden handshake should absolutely be taken off the table…
I presume this is a wind-up?
So how many payoffs do you think the Iron have made to managers in the last ten years?
Of course we will get a new manager soon, but when he decides he doesn’t like it in Scunny, he will get himself sacked and walk away with a nice cheque in his pocket.

1st Nige Adkins (please)
2nd JF HasslebainkAvoid Russ Wilcox (bore off)
Yeah he can clean the s*** house…
I’m a maniac, are you a maniac too?
I’ve been in many a mosh pit with this band playing live. Was even there when the lead singer got banned from the pub.
Happy days…
Hopefully one of these managers will take a chance on the Iron, with a contracts that doesn’t include a payoff of they are useless.
On the face of it, it looks like we will be stuck with Wilcox 👎
