deffo should have had 1 pen but Howard would have probably saved, commands his box far more than Rory.
Good point, commanding your box is an important factor when it comes to saving penalties.
Ha ha ha! I do hope that was said in jest!!

To Ryan Loft.
I was one of many who said we wanted shot of you. Sorry Geeze, keep playing like you did for 45 minutes today. 2 goals and 1 assist.

Get him in, got to be an improvement on what we have already. Could even be a Hill improver!

So what would you say about Miles? Seems he likes playing just behind two strikers.
Also the Iron have almost looked to wave the white flag after going 1 – 0 down. This time we score just eight minutes later.
I’m certain that there are at least two teams worse than ours in this league. But then I always was a glass half full type.
That was a match that would have been a defeat under Cox. The Iron much the better team in the second half.
I’m thinking that the priority in January must be a competent striker, and I’m certain that it will be a big and nasty target man. Then we could well see more than just L2 survival, perhaps even a mid table finish.
Still trying to live the dream!

Well if he is a big ‘big time Charley’ to coin a phrase, then Hilly will work him hard and find him out.
I don’t think he will enjoy being properly trained…

How many players have we got rid of over the years that went on to become high achievers?
Goode isn’t the first and won’t be the last.
If Ryan Loft ever becomes a premiership player I will show my arse on the town hall steps. (That is risky in Brighton.)

I agree, it can’t be easy for a right back to fill in at defensive midfield. All said he did ok..
Seems that passengers are weighing us down. Get shot and get off the bottom of that league..

With players getting fitter and better game on game, you have to wonder, what the feck was going on under Neil Cox?
May this march onwards and upwards continue. UTBI
Upwards?
Heads up, we’re still rock bottom by one point.
Playing better, maybe, but yet to achieve anything.
We’ve gone from mathematically being online for 33.2 points to 33.9.
Still not enough by a long throw.Man you have to nit pick! The boys are getting better and better and in two games we would have lost under Cox, they have showed improvements, not just with the way they are playing, but with their attitudes.
It had gotten desperate, surely you admit that much. So, as you rightly point out, we are still bottom of L2. But not adrift and every bit better we get is IMO a step forward, upwards, whatever. It’s pointless going on about words. The machinations are all coming through. I believe in the Keithster.

Looking at the weather forecast for tomorrow, I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets postponed. I hope not, but wouldn’t be surprised.
November 25, 2021 at 10:18 am in reply to: Review calls for radical shake up of English football #218462It does mention the EFL, albeit further down the page. It could lead to the fat cats throwing us a few crumbs.

It’s all about what happens in January. I find it hard to believe that Keith Hill came here without a pledge that he can get rid of some of the deadwood and buy some players that he had when he was managing other teams.
I won’t be judging him until I see him have at least a handful of his own chosen players.
All said, a point was the best we could expect from the shower he had to choose from last night.
Unfortunately you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. So we have to hope that Swanny sorts the restrictions out and then releases some money for transfers in January. He must have had some kind of pledge, to entice him here in the first place.
It’s a rare thing to read so many positive posts about a new manager. Keith Hill has brought a new attitude, even though we are still routed firmly to the bottom of L2.
Personally I believe that he was and is our best chance to get ourselves out of this rut we have found ourselves in.
First he has to find out who our best eleven players are, then our best formation and system. Then we should rediscover our form and prove that we are better than at least one club in this division.
Three seasons. First survive L2, next a top half finish, then finally a play off position.
All that being said, Swanny please don’t sack the manager again until he gets to put these plans into action!
Canavan is only 30? Wow it seems like a long time ago. How great would it be to have two players like him and Mirfin in our defence right now?

Very funny! Lol.

Ok, so some opposition fans have been known to accuse Brighton fans of all being g**, or words to that effect.
You wanna hear what they say about Brighton fans! (I’m not going to repeat it on here).🌈
I have only been to Mansfield once, I took my eldest son all the way from Brighton on the train. The ground was crap, we had no roof and it was raining. To cap the lot we were beaten 1 – 0. The only good thing was bumping into Darren and Andy, and joining SULSESC. Oh and a pint with some Cardiff fans in a pub near Euston Station. Happy days!
I am hoping that they have upgraded their ground by now. I visited Orient the same season and their ground only had three sides.
I’m surprised that nobody mentioned Hakeeb. I’m sure he was a better player when he went to the mud rats, than he ever was for the Iron. I’d do cartwheels if Keith resigned him, and I can’t remember the last time I did one of them.

LOL at the above.
There’s apologist, then there’s cloud cuckoo land.
Next time they come and camp on the land bordered by Doncaster Road, Collinson Avrnue and Berkeley Juniors, I’ll invite you to come and meet them. This time they:
Left filth, refuse and debris it took NLC a fortnight to clean up…in hazmat suits.
Broke down most of the hundreds of young trees planted that Spring. Many won’t recover.
Paraded up and down local roads in the wee small hours shouting abuse and, “We’re back! F*ck all you can do! Can’t stop us! F*ck off!”
Terrorised local shopkeepers, arriving mob janded and stealing eith impunity.
Caused untold damage to local leisure facilities with their vehicles.
Went on a spree breaking into sheds, garages and outbuildings.Local police would not attend…indeed, were frightened to come even when the council FINALLY managed to get an order for the pikeys to move on.
Three and a half weeks of misery for local residents.
So take your sycophant post and shove it.
I would imagine that they are not of Roma Gypsy stock, but what the Irish used to refer to as tinkers. I doubt that they go round sharpening things these days, as there is no call for it (everything disposable). Those who are forever camping on public land, such as school playing fields and parks, are not Roma and the Roma don’t like being lumped in with them.

The travellers I know moved into council housing back in the 1970’s, which they went on to buy in the 1990’s. They were self employed roofers and builders, and they employed their kids who would eventually inherit the businesses. Those still living in caravans have their own land, they are spotless and tidy, and the trailers are static and have their own indoor pluming (including toilets). Those who live in their houses, are also super clean and tidy. Oh and they do pay their taxes, that I know.
I used to knock about with some travelling folk when I was very young, (10 – 13.) They were very familiar orientated, but treated me like I was one of their own. Even if I was a ‘gorgier!’
They were/are nice people and are still my friends to this day.

This could be our first win in ages, if Keith has already had an influence on the team.
Glass back to half full again, it’s been so long. Looking forward to seeing what happens in January.

So we lose 0 – 1 (own goal) to a L1 team, albeit not the best in that division. I don’t think Keith has had the time to have much involvement in this, and five subs makes me wonder if this match was an attempt to show what is our best eleven.
Methinks that after a week of training, and our new manager fully involved, we may well see a different Iron next week.
Here’s hoping. – UTBI.
I’m hoping to see an improvement in Ryan Loft. He was once described as a handful, and that might well have been ‘coached out of him.’ This manager will need a makeshift target man until January at least.
I like Loftie, hope he can step up.

That changed quickly, last I looked it was 6/5 against. WOW!
I wonder if someone in the “know” has been and got their money on!
Well that is how it works (sometimes) in horse racing. Trainers and jockeys can’t back on, or indeed against there horses, but the owners can. When the owners pile on, the price tumbles dramatically.
Perhaps the Swann family have all their money on Keith Hill?
