I’m trying to get the day off for the Crawley match. If this is to be our last season in the football league, then I want to let the players and the manager to know it was not their fault.
We got to have faith. Those players brought in in January should be fit enough now, given Kieth Hill’s fitness regime.
I’m hoping we go darn sarf and give em a bloody nose.

Well I emailed the chairperson of the Chinese owners of our steelworks. Explaining what has happened to the Iron and what the club means to us all. Then I gave them the whole pitch about public relations and advertising.
A week has gone by and they haven’t got back to me. Perhaps I laid it on a little too ‘thick.’

I don’t want to burst anyones bubble, but reality is a bitch. The best performance in a long long time, and everyone started to show what they are made of…..
BUT it was a nil nil draw at home. It doesn’t matter who the opposition is, we have to give their goalkeeper something to do.
I do rate Kieth Hill, and I think he has built what could become a decent team on a threadbare shoestring, meaning for nothing. We might go down but if KH stays we may well come straight back up.
What we need in the closed season is for Swanny to put his hand in his pocket. Give Kieth the backing to prove his point, he doesn’t need millions or even hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Show some metal, Mr Chairman……

Now that’s going a bit far Dez,I’ve only claimed our fans are the worse not revolting. But glad someone else see’s it as well.
It’s the home fans I have a problem with, all they have ever done is moan ever since i started to go to Glanford Park.
Away fans are different, they usually get behind the team whatever is happening.

Maybe not a ‘word’ but the name of the company that owns our steelworks. I would bet they have more money than the Swanna too.
IF we are ever to get our ground back and save our club, then we have to get a rich foreign company or individual to buy it off Swann.
The word Jingyesteel springs to mind.

I’m going to have a vet on The Iron to beat Rochdale on Saturday. Out of all the clubs that are not local derbies, they are the ones I hate losing to the most.
If we do win it will be because of Hill and in spite of Swann.
Let’s see how fit he has got our newcomers.

Hill has undertaken the job of assembling what is akin to Dads Army, and I’m no time at all is expected to turn them into battle hardened bloody paras.
He got a win out of them on Saturday, I can actually see him succeeding here.

I think things will start to look better as the players get fitter. Anything we pick up along the way will be a welcome bonus.
Last night was a glimmer of hope. It showed that we have a better team than we had before, a team that can hold on to a lead with ten men.
Remember most of the teams we will be playing against are just as bad as ours. We can survive with our league status intact.

Who forgot to put the petrol in yesterday?
Better than putting petrol in a diesel car 🤓

You wouldn’t believe how many people do that…

If Swann ain’t gone soon, we will soon be playing this team.
Ok it might take some years before we become that shite!
I don’t know about numbers, but in London and the South East we normally get decent crowds. This is mostly down to the fine work done by SULSESC.
Used to like having a pint with them at Leyton Orient away.
You don’t have to have an intimate relationship with alcohol to support the Iron but I personally find it helps these days.
I usually leave an away game drunk as a skunk. Or maybe I just smell that way? 🤪
You never asked about the ground RB, what about it, we’re getting it rent free at the moment.
We are to enjoy having OUR GROUND rent free? Feck that Herr Swann!

Honestly the man takes the piss. Swann’s now is all for cost cutting and saving the club after he’s near enough ruined it. Cutting costs after 12+ million in debt ?
I find it interesting that he couldn’t find the money to pay off the loan he knew would help the club stay up and yet spent all that money he full well knew we couldn’t afford to spend.
Swannster couldn’t even find it within himself to pay it off despite signing the clubs assets off to coolsilk.
I’ve got to be careful what I say here but put it this way, he makes Dick Turpin look like an amateur. I bet he won’t turn up now for the rest of the season, he’ll swerve us like the plague.
At least Dick Turpin wore a mask, you knew you were getting robbed.

Yeah come on Swanny, give us back our ground. You had it long enough now.

Hold on, if Beestin is ill he shouldn’t be on the bench, let alone in the first eleven. What are they thinking?
Ha ha. But seeing as Man U are my second favourite team. I actually like Mason Greenwood.
So wind yer neck in.
IF he is guilty of the crimes he has accused of, then a custodial sentence is the least that he should expect.
Any chance of playing professional football should be removed upon his release. They are not just seen as players, but role models these days.
Kids should not be looking up to very highly paid, violent rapists ever…

Just been listening to Keith’s interview with bbc sounds: It’s been a while since I heard an Iron manager espouse such intelligence and positivity: I hope I’m not posting something that has already been discussed here.

My dad had a Minx when we lived in West Butterwick back in 76. Light blue convertible. Lovely old girl she was.

Do they still send out e mails prior to each home game?
Yes. 👍

Im happy with the players Hill has brought in in the window and pretty obvious these are Hills signings (no interference) theres more grit and experience in there now , Swann has supported Hill as he said he would …. now i just hope they gel from the get go.
I hope all the fans that can go do go and get behind the NEW IRON .. enjoy n sing yer hearts out for the lads.
UP THE IRON
It is a home game, so it is going to be the same miserable atmosphere as the usual suspects continue to moan in the DRE. With a few exceptions, it has been like that for all the home matches I remember. Going back to the nineteen seventies.
Just a minute. They are not ‘Mariners fans!’ They are stinking smelly Cod Heads….
I am not sure that Keith has somehow pulled a magic rabbit out of his hat. It is too much to expect after the shit show we have had with Cox.
What I am expecting is that he has purchased players who are better, and stronger, than those that they have been brought in to replace.
Give us a fighting chance, and a miracle might happen.

One of the (many) questions this all raises is why did we have to wait until the end of the window? I know a lot of clubs wait until the deadline but at the same time most of our signings are rejects & released players, could they not have come sooner? Like you say, they’re going to take a while to get up to speed and “a while” is something we don’t have!
It might have had something to do with having to get rid of some ‘players’ first. It can’t have been easy.
