I have received good info from ‘an invisible person’ who has been close to the team that cliques are developing and that fallouts are plentiful.

There’s another position on the pitch – which – if memory serves, was called ‘the winger.’ Usually smallish, quick and tricky, they used to head towards the by-line and cross a ball into the six yard box and would often cause mayhem.
Anyone have recollections of this now extinct breed of footballer?3 users thanked author for this post.
Best passer in the defence – last season.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t he playing in a different position now?
Didn’t he look his normal self in the recent but short-lived, back 4?4 users thanked author for this post.
1) I couldn’t believe that Butler had changed back to a failing system.
Okay – we began by pushing the WBs further forward but that soon reverted to the normal tripe.
2) Beck is a jewel. Let us not spend whole games lumping 40 yard balls into his general direction, though.
3) Why have ‘forward players’ not been learning how to work off Beck? Don’t they do training any more?
4) That game was execrable. Even that source of countless (clean but damning) adjectives – Mrs Lesgeo – was left utterly speechless. She ain’t going back in a hurry which means that neither am I!
5) I have tried to support AB; as someone who has sacked people in past years – I gave him advice on Bru. (And don’t believe managers, leaders, directors, CEOs etc who claim not to read reviews of what they are doing. They are the first to!)
6) Butler’s team selection was bonkers. I won’t even bother to explain that remark.
7) We were so badly prepared we ceded the entire control of the game to a pub team with attitude. This is a managerial failure in spades.
8) I have criticised long and often for two months but today was my final day of tolerance. BUTLER OUT! Get thee hence!
9) The club is at a crossroads where its fan base is concerned. Keep Butler – lose many fans. Sack him and we may be able to stop the rot.
10) Two year contract? – If you have any honour, Andy you will leave without demanding compensation.8 users thanked author for this post.
Ah Yes, Cliff. Last season, second only to Buxton in cheating and trickery. Well, Buxton have normalised, let us hope that the same applies to today’s visitors.
Nice day in winter – that’s Mrs Lesgeo and my good self making a guestappearance at the AA this afternoon. (I’m still gonna wear my long johns, just in case.)Thanks.
Playing 4-4-2 should have given us more space and Darlo less.
It didn’t.
Why not?Play controlled balls to Beck and he’ll suit us very well.
(There also needs to be a lot of practice in training for forward-moving players judging the right place to be for his knock downs.)
Luke Williams has class. I’m not sure that we yet know where (or possibly HOW) to play him, though.A dull performance, indeed.
One upside – I think that Will looks to be playing better. (Still not as good as last year, though.)
Is it me or are we getting more out of Denton too?
I like Beck but even so, far too much lumping the ball upfield to him.1 user thanked author for this post.
November 26, 2024 at 9:50 pm in reply to: Has Anyone Unravelled The DAZN Takeover of National League TV? #294642Mrs Lesgeo has stated that the pictures on DAZN were about the same as previously.
She-who-must-be-listened-to has spoken.
That is the end of the matter.2 users thanked author for this post.
I don’t often disagree with Cass but …
Weather forecast suggests that the Darlo game will be on. Conditions okay.

If all are fit – Williams will likely be on the bench, Tuesday.
Odd world we inhabit, innit? If Williams slots in – I may go back one step on my calls for a heavy duty CM.
I await the outcome with breath bated. If he tries to put ‘his own original stamp’ on teams he will lose this job.
Learn, change and listen – he might well survive and even prosper.
Mr Schofield – are you advising him?
Please use your experience – we are seeing too little evidence.
If today hasn’t proved that the naysayers had a pretty good case what will?
I am sure that pretty much all fans were delighted with Andy for the first time in weeks. Sensible structure, playing the right players.4 users thanked author for this post.
Nice one, Andy!
I saw a % of the game versus the cods on video but couldn’t work out the system being played. (Camerawork made it tricky for the overview.)
What puzzled me was how many goals that we might have scored. It could have been double figures.
I was wondering and hoping …
Delighted too that Nicholson hasn’t got a starting place today.
We could perhaps get something this afternoon.
I had said that a fortnight break from real football might give us the opportunity to change over.
We shall see.November 22, 2024 at 7:49 pm in reply to: Has Anyone Unravelled The DAZN Takeover of National League TV? #294434Weekend games are shown in the NL – but in the NLN?
November 22, 2024 at 4:28 pm in reply to: Has Anyone Unravelled The DAZN Takeover of National League TV? #294416You are a star. Thanks.
(I’ll save this info til I know games are actually being played, though.)
UTI.November 22, 2024 at 1:01 pm in reply to: Has Anyone Unravelled The DAZN Takeover of National League TV? #294406It’s as I feared. Found NLN and our fixture – can’t find the offer they make for their National League, no strings £9-99 weekly pass that does not renew until you want it to.
(I am a fully paid up computer halfwit – will have done something truly stoopid. But in my defence, Mrs Lesgeo – much better than me in such matters – failed too.)
Anyone got a url to the page where you book?We have a pretty long recent history of not bringing players on.

An alternative way to reach an identical conclusion is that the results at the moment are simply dreadful.
There. I didn’t even mention ‘fo……..ns’.3 users thanked author for this post.
Huh?
He’s aged many years since that first sighting at FP.
Agree.
Last few games though, Torps has allowed himself a few negative remarks. For anyone familiar with his typical contribution – this has significance. We have seen some terrific football from Clunan – but most of it was in the opening months of last season.
He had a bit of a rally in the latter stages of last season as well. That’s the defence which will surely work better than the others, Cass.
Denton however, was better than Kelly last year. In a changed setup – he may still prove to be the excellent LB we witnessed last season.1 user thanked author for this post.
The players who began the season looked the part, Deerey. It probably all hangs on the fact that ‘we wuz sussed’.
So, yes. Pretty sure.1 user thanked author for this post.
Denton’s injury was a long time ago now.
Another victim of our ‘system?’Let’s take a step back and view the big picture.
Manager has won 3 games out of 14.
Manager has been losing very regularly to totally inferior opposition – teams cobbled together with: part-timers, ultra low budgets and many with an extremely low fan base etc.
Manager demonstrably struggling to get the best out of what is a decentish squad.
Manager inevitably facing rumours that he has ‘lost the dressing room’.
Manager’s claims that our superior fitness would give us an edge have proved not to be the actual reality.
Manager is overseeing a side whose passing is frequently woeful and which creates space for the opposition.
Manager and a clear majority of fans not in any accord over: the system being played; defending slender leads; on-field positions being filled with ‘unsuitable picks’ etc.
Manager believes that his side has ‘balance’ – most fans apparently do not.
Manager’s weekly rhetoric is oft repeated and fans appear less than convinced.
Manager had a superb start and expected that to continue – most fans were able to spot the weaknesses and did not.
I could go on.
There is a terrible irony here for AB. When (not if) the sacking comes – some lucky manager is going to breeze in and find that he has many good players who only need organising within a system that they like and fully understand to see a huge upturn in fortunes on the pitch.
Even now, at the eleventh hour, AB could rescue himself from the above. All he has to do is show some flexibility.
In my life, I have worked for leaders WITH flexibility and those WITHOUT.
Guess which types create the most success!10 users thanked author for this post.
