Our last two wins both came from a changed formation.
At least AB seems to be finally recognising the need to change things around a bit.
I must admit that I was rather puzzled by the return of Nicholson and playing Denton on the wrong side of the pitch – but we won and must, hopefully, stand a chance against Hereford.
AB making adjustments has encouraged me somewhat.

Mrs Lesgeo was getting seriously peed off with AB during his ‘interview’. She must have tutted at least eight times.

CBs looked pretty strong at start of season but …
Evans is simply not the player he was; Boyce is Boyce; Nicholson worries me big style; Max has been patchy.

I honestly reckon that we have a decent enough team to, at least, challenge for playoffs.

ANDY – as an admirer of your footballing skills – I may be on your side but I am even more on the side of Iron success.
I can help. Honestly. As your managerial career faces oblivion – if not today then at some pretty close future point – swallow your pride now and make the changes which, deep down inside, you know HAVE to be taken imminently.
Do this and you may very well keep your job for the best part of two years – and so will your sidekick.

I truly hope you are right Cass but I shan’t hold my breath.
Marine – how many defenders shall we have on the pitch?
Will ‘lumpit upfield as often as possible’ still be the order of the day?
Players played in their proper positions?
Our best 11 starting the game?
Humility or arrogance?
Flexibility or obstinacy?
Actually playing for a win or targeting a draw and hoping we win?

Deerey. I do agree that board interference is no good way to go, generally, but – desperate times, desperate measures.
The board made a mistake where the contracts were concerned. No real blame on them – but the football had already fallen away somewhat at that point and so they are not totally beyond criticism.
We are now in the middle of making the best of a pretty bad job.
I firmly believe that the evidence is stacked high that we must now abandon 5 at the back with this particular squad. The two do not go together.
If board interference is the only way to achieve that – then so be it.

Delay til the New Year would finish off this season, once and for all – against a backcloth of plummeting gates.
The only thing that will/can change this is if the board tell AB and his chum to play four at the back – or else! (And he agrees or resigns in a sulk.)

A new manager who has had some all round evidence of success, League/down as far as this level and not too long into the past, would suit me.
However, the budget for management may be rather on the limited side.
Keeping the current pairing and having a Director of Football with powers to overrule might be a possible way forward. Surely less expensive than the alternative.
I’ve heard worse ideas.

I’ve gotta disagree with people who are slamming the players.
These failures come very largely from exceedingly below par management.
The truth about the players can only be revealed once a competent manager is in place.
