Accountants Jackson-Stapleton are ‘main club partner’, DM. Would you want your financial firm associated with a dodgy enterprise? https://www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk/news/2023/june/jackson-stapleton-accountants-become-main-club-partner-ahead-of-2023-24-season/
I would have thought that agents’ reputations could well be damaged if their clients were directed towards a dubious deal. (Obviously, that is all about self-protection and precious little to do with honourable conduct.)
As for Swann, there has been a lengthy silence. Unusual. – May be tactical, of course.
I wrote some weeks ago that one of my legal eagles has stated to me that there appears to be a strong likelihood that DH is on top of the lease situation. No guarantees, of course, as our info is incomplete.
As for me, I admit to a wait-and-see policy – it’s just that, outwardly at least, matters now appear more positive than negative. A month ago I was 50/50.
I am just one more Iron outsider attempting to look in.3 users thanked author for this post.
A division lower, Boyce may look super.
Agents of players coming in seem satisfied with our setup; players old and new seem satisfied; more incoming; new accountant backers seem satisfied too.
Players opting NOT to jump ship; a Swann has stopped flapping its wings and hissing.
I may of course be wrong but I’m interpreting all of these things as being clues that there may well be people with a substantially better overview than some of our doom and gloom merchants.I’ve long wondered, CB, whether DH might actually want GP – were a lower price to appear on the table.
Living in the Barrio Pilar for a year as a student, I was happy to support the real Real Madrid back in 1972/73.
True – but then, he never did all that much to help us out, did he?
Looks like the medical went well.
My cardiologist tells me that Atenolol has largely been replaced by Bisoprolol.

I’m Spartacus.
“It’s exciting times for the club. Every player that’s been brought in so far is of a high quality. If the club keeps recruiting the way they are, and knowing the way Jimmy and Chris work, I’m sure there are good times ahead.” Nelson.
Are we absolutely certain that these two guys have no cygnus connection?
Cui bono?
(I was quite pleased with myself there – 53 years since I last did any proper Latin.)He was unfortunate not to have got the manager’s job.

Once bitten, twice shy.
So many Iron fans have been hurt, and yes, even damaged by the events of recent years.
They are concerned but whenever somebody perhaps overstates the anti-Hilton case, naturally enough, they adopt immediate panic mode.
Am I Hilton-sceptic? – Not especially. I feel that there might well be a sort of ‘shape’ to what is going on but I consider that we have no realistic choice other than to wait and see. There really are no other feasible options.
The trouble is, we are all now trained into being so fearful it is wholly unsurprising that DH has become a bit of a target.
My greatest fear is that he may not be a wrong ‘un at all and feeling unappreciated he may just decide to call it a day.2 users thanked author for this post.
Who is Iron Insider?
Anyone ever met this person?Sounds likely, SF.
EFA – I have a better offer. I don’t need first, I’ll settle for business class.

Got to agree, WG. There’s going to be a lot of disappointed CMs this season.
What’s happening with Butterfield, BTW?
I reckon we’re short of a forward.“… winning games regularly?”
Sorry. I can’t grasp the concept.Ah. It’s ok. Mrs Lesgeo has just explained that it’s what other teams do to us.
Reversing that might be a good way forward. I like it.Is this because one of our former players has moved to Chester?
Has this something to do with us?

Would just like to know.
Seemingly, there is no evidence.
Fine.In 1993, the EU’s share of GDP on a worldwide scale was 30%.
Last I saw – it is now below 15%. Work that one out for yourself. You should see the graph!
As a former EU researcher – I cannot start to explain: the incompetence, the corruption and the waste found in this toxic body. (Westminster truly pales into insignificance by comparison – hard to accept but true.)
I had actually voted to stay in. Let me repeat. Like many, I supported the concept. When I was invited to to examine it closely, however – I was shocked to the core. My volte face was indeed based on prejudice – I despise waste, I abhor duplicity, ineptitude, expense and am none too keen on imperialism.Sorry. I haven’t been on this site in years – it is highly improbable that I shall ever come on again.

Well, to be fair, I can see your difficulty in differentiating.1 user thanked author for this post.
If it weren’t so vitally important it would be very interesting.
I really haven’t a clue but I am truly starting to wonder if Hilton might have a pretty good idea what he is doing.
‘Urban speak?’ Sure am dude.My legal expert tells me that now Hilton has offered more than the ground is worth as a monthly payment, this puts the former chairman at a significant disadvantage if/when he opts to sue.
Apparently, for as long as that case runs – we cannot be expelled from GP.
These sort of cases often run for a very long time.
My guy thinks Hilton is playing a very clever game. What strikes me is that Hilton:
Has no chance whatsoever to asset strip – so what he sez he is – he probably is.1 user thanked author for this post.
I do not know. I do not pretend to know. I shall just play the waiting game and see what happens and shall hope that I understand it all then.
Clearly, Hilton seems to believe that he’s got a watertight lease on GP.
Let’s all hope that’s accurate.
After all, there seems to be precious little to gain for him in being wrong about that.2 users thanked author for this post.
Georgie was part of the deal that saw David Sloan – a goal-scoring winger of some quality – go to Oxford Utd. If memory serves, DS was worth one George Kerr + £2,000.
GK was a gutsy player with occasional bursts of pace followed by moments of poor ball control then sudden, unexpected goals. He also took the corner at Hillsboro which was nutted home by Cass for a well known 4th division side to stun SW out of the 4th round of the FA cup in 1970.
Never the same player after a tragic leg break at Gainsborough. (?)
A lovely bloke! For one – maybe two seasons – I got lifts with him from Burton Stather to the ground on match days. (Some reserve fixtures too.)4 users thanked author for this post.
Sorry. I’ve not been paying much attention. Is there some sort of issue?
