18 OOC?
Reduced offers aplenty.
NLN or NL.
Who is it essential that we keep?1 user thanked author for this post.
A fair summary, IFA.

Why did they shuffle it all around?
Thanks, Rene. It looks that it may be fine on your link.If I were in charge – you’d be watching the cup-winning giants from last Wednesday night.
Am not able to get to the AA for either game. (Note the optimism.)
Televised on TNT, I believe.
Will it still be on Vanarama as normal? Anyone in the know?Incidentally, how good to see Beestin played in CM. It’s clear what we have to do if we want the best out of him.
Kelly is fine on the left side but for pity’s sake, I still have nightmares that we might play him on the right side again.
Huh?
Dean seemingly had a lot of say in recruitment of the present squad. As a recruiter, he hasn’t looked too bad at all.
Strongest team tomorrow. If we win then make protective changes at Gloucester.
I think we may have to offer our thanks to Ross Barrows for his contribution last night.
Hopefully, teams that like to spike our guns with negativity are gonna be a bit stressed when they have to play to win!
Smile folks!

The very same, Bill.
Is Clarke out of favour?
Disappointed that we have only one up front but – as long as JD switches over quickly if his scheme ain’t working …Impossible to prove but a very strong chance that this tactic will see us remaining in NLN after this season.

They all worked hard enough but it was just so average.
Some teams who defend well from the start and give little away tend to stymy all of our attacks.
KL’s manager knew exactly what to do.
Two strikes on the woodwork. Could so easily have gone to us.A very knowledgeable gent of my acquaintance wants Fitzsimons dropped for the next match.
We argued about this for quite a while during the game after the latest piece of insanity. With a handful of games left – the thought of a junior GK in for critical matches pressed my panic buttons.
But not too long after the goal was conceded we had yet more evidence that Fitz does not learn anything from experience – there were several more instances of crazy play.
Alright then. Go on. Drop him! If losing us the game singlehanded does not fettle him – what else can be done?
All his great keeping is wiped away by his wild extravagance. I keep thinking we have a Grobbelaar in our midst. Only more so!
The refs in NLN may be shocking – but I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the standards of goalkeeping. So many great keepers in that division. Well – think how many have thwarted us!
He’s expensive. Let him go. I am longing for a GK who does the right things and has just a bit of flair. Such a man need not cost the earth.
21 clean sheets could have been – perhaps – 27. ???Anyone who has been on this board for any length of time knows that I support referees and was part of a panel for several decades involved in the independent reviewing and marking of refs. Balance and sanity.
I was the least qualified as a mere broadcaster. We had two statisticians, one pro ref, one local ref – and me. I learned from them. We were all on a single wavelength.
All the clear decision-making for marks was rational.
Then we come to the NLN and the gang has broken up so we cannot mark comparatively any more.
If the average mark in the EFL was a 6/10 – I declare my belief that the average in the NLN cannot possibly be higher than a three.
I see better reffing watching my granddaughter play on Saturday mornings in a very junior Sheffield League.
(The pro ref mentioned is a regular at The AA and despairs.)
Whenever you wonder whether bad anything is corruption or incompetence – 99% it’s the latter. Even so, I am witnessing bias on a very regular basis. I suspect that the situation is that the ‘little guys deserve a break against big spending Scunny.’
I fully accept that this is rarely deliberate – but ‘subconscious bias’ is an identifiable phenomenon.
In so many ways in my life, I have been trained into neutrality in my thinking and decision-making. It has served me well.
I have used this experience (hopefully) with a degree of wisdom over the years but in the face of the reffing this season, I find myself baying at appalling officials just as much as anyone else.3 users thanked author for this post.
I disagree P2.
If we claim 2nd place we have a pretty strong chance of promotion.
If we claim 3rd place we have a decent chance of promotion.
If we end up lower – the chances start to diminish.
‘All to play for’is exciting.
Well. Innit?I spent a long time nattering with Number One Son last night about who to keep and who to release. (Not sure that the Iron hierarchy will be consulting us – but – you never know.)
It is seriously difficult. Hilton aimed to have a National League team in NLN.
It looks impossible that we won’t have to leave salary levels untouched for some players but make significant cuts in salaries for others. We may also need a small number of recruits to improve the squad – no easy task.
Some players won’t like it at all and will try to get a better deal elsewhere; some will not be able to; some will; others may just shrug shoulders and feel that they may well be playing in a better class of football with us – and that matters to them.
It just goes on and on.
Dare the club be negotiating with some players at this point and saying nothing to others? That can lead to rank uncertainty which could ruin our playoff campaign. What’s more, if SNOT is right, a new manager’s thoughts almost need to be brokered into club plans – NOW.
If he is correct – the club must surely know who they want but what if JD succeeds in gaining promotion? Le chat entre les pigeons!
N1S and I concluded that there will have to be fewer players but we found it no easy task to decide who to lose.
There has been a different style of play recently which has made vast improvements to players I had been thinking should be on their bikes.
Gotta say – we don’t envy the board’s job at the moment. That’s correct.
I thought it was a straight red but JD said that there was perhaps enough doubt to warrant an appeal.
Nothing ventured … I suppose.Pro ref in our group wanted ref castrated.
Thought that was the most rounded performance I’ve ever seen from Whitehall.
Thought too that Scales had benefited from being dropped.1 user thanked author for this post.
Yes, AWG but the ref was rank. He could have taken the points from us.
Second time in a few weeks where I can’t justify a ref having any marks.
Not only a plethora of appalling decisions but allowed so much cheating. Took backchat from players.
Yet again we weren’t allowed a 100% penalty – and 15 seconds later the decision fired up Evans’ anger. (Still down to Will, though!)I’ve got no VPN.
Under ‘Packages’ I’m still getting “No packages available in your country” for tomorrow.
Never previously had a problem.
I tried switching browser – same result.
Anyone help?Only two days away for TV – it’s usually bookable by now.
Odd. Shall try on my wife’s laptop tomorrow.Wot, no Vanarama coverage on Tuesday night?
Players were abused by clubs pre-Bosman. The situation was reversed post Bosman.
Trouble was – it made football more expensive for fansSurely, these negative thought patterns can only be found in players who have already guaranteed a new club.
Could there be all that many?
All of those who have not must know that the new salary structure could very easily turn out to be the very best that they can achieve. That incentivises players.
Potential new clubs will clearly be scared off when scouts report that their target can’t be arsed to give us full measure when chasing promotion!
What of those plenty of players who will still end up needing to get a contract with us?
What of those who recognise that they fell lucky to get such a hefty deal from Hilton? May they not want to stay?
Promotion would have given better earning potential to all players.
I do not buy into the idea that loadsa players are not giving their best.
Say three of our better players have got new clubs lined up.
It would only take as few as three to sabotage our season.
If this idea holds any water at all – I wonder who the trio might be?1 user thanked author for this post.
