Worst manager? We’ve looked at this before.
Cox, Rooks and Bradley fighting for the honour. In fairness though, all three were badly lacking in proper resources.Nice guy. (I interviewed him once.)

noun DEROGATORY
“A well-meaning but unrealistic or interfering philanthropist or reformer.
“they were not going to welcome bossy do-gooders from far away telling them how to run their lives”
Let’s hear it for ‘those who do good’ – not the above. He may have fallen under the radar of a goodly number of other clubs having hardly played for us.
Might just be the chance of a free transfer.
Or why not offer to take him for free as a favour to them for the season. If his development is top notch – they could keep him at the end of his contract. Now all we need is for these attitudes to be set in stone for all future generations.
What is the best estimate of points lost by Fitz last season? – Let’s not be too hard on the guy – all good GKs make some mistakes.
Elliot’s contract offer may suggest otherwise, WG.
Law looks a decent player, albeit a bit undercooked but – oh dear – injuries. Anyone recall what he looks like?
Beestin – injury record. Hmm. But at least, I’ll wager that he will not be played wide left. She should be in the next Honours List.

There’s two main issues where Elliott is concerned: 1) Obviously enough – how much? and 2) Will/would he be played in a team designed to create scoring chances?
Interspersed into these thoughts, we may wonder about playing both strikers together.
Played as he was last season – it would be both expensive and nonsensical to keep him.1 user thanked author for this post.
What is LT’s current function?
From an informed third party – I know that AK really liked Vardy’s play but not a number of his attitudes. I truly have no idea what was meant.
I did get detail, however, when Alick Jeffrey was released by Donny, I asked Jack Brownsword if we’d be in for him. He said ” We can take the boozing but not him taking half the players with him’.
Good player. Bags of potential but … I can see exactly why Steve feels as he does. If the lad has learned a bit of professionalism he might be a belting signing for Scarboro or whomsoever.
We have seen enough to know that Whitehall has what it takes if played in a workable system. Frankly, I suspect that there are many managers out there who could get the best out of Elliot.
How many would not like to see that duo turned into a forward partnership? There may well be 50 goals (fitness allowing) to lead our season into a real title challenge.
I suspect that there will be many similarities in the team from last season to the team in the next.
Those who think that there will be a host of our better players leaving may well be surprised.
Clearly, monies have already been saved with yesterday’s news. The new manager will take the job basing it more on the possible building of a reputation rather than the grasping of filthy lucre.3 users thanked author for this post.
Nelson, please.
Speaking of Denton, JD was ‘pleased’ with his injury because he will start the new season without an op.
I wondered what this might have revealed about the futures of both men.
Does it also suggest that there has already been a lot of negotiating underway? If WG is correct that the budget cut is 40% – trimming the heavy squad size alone could quite likely clear 20% – 25%.
Clipping some – but not all – of the big wages might achieve another 25%.
Could even allow for three decent signings incoming. How about pursuing Corbett on a season long loan?
40% cut would be fine – just spending the money a bit more intelligently and we should be looking towards the top few places once again.
With better tactics, top slot may well be within our grasp.I have been looking for a perspective on yesterday.
Felt the reffing was up to the standards to which we have sadly become so accustomed over the last season.
I never really felt that Boston were gonna score. I thought we might.
‘Losing on penalties’ really was the tag for that match.
We lost because when Beestin was assaulted in the box. Mr Kettle was not bright enough to know that this is called a penalty.
Furthermore, when DW met a superb through pass and was cutting across the box to attempt an angled drive across the GK into empty space on his left, a defender put two hands onto his upper back and clearly toppled him over. Definitely no hint of a dive.
Mr Kettle did to us what so many other refs have done this season.1 user thanked author for this post.
Has it been a learning curve for JD?
If we feel that we are headed for more of the same next season – then enough is enough.
If he has learned from experience – and for me the evidence is not overwhelming that he has – he should keep his job.
The trouble is that a failed 2nd place was probably unacceptable given the quality of our squad.2 users thanked author for this post.
What? More than 100% – the maximum possible?

The team today looked more than a bit as if we had reverted to those successful days back in January and February.
Can’t fathom why we didn’t win!
Why did Evans not take a penalty?Corbett bench?
I spent ages considering Chris Hope. Matt Elliott was certainly a class act too.

The Sunday games were showing on SCHEDULE but ours on the Saturday was not.
I checked on PACKAGES and there was our game – so, happily, I booked it.
Just looked at SCHEDULE and our game still not showing.
It is still on PACKAGES, though.
https://www.nationalleaguetv.com/packagesI can’t think of all that many players who could have kept Crozzer out of the side.
Frank Burrows – definitely.
Keith Burkinshaw?I can take the shitty grounds – no problem.
The reffing, however, has been execrable in 60% of games; below par in 20%.Boston it is. Hopefully, truly knackered!
10 minutes added on at end of the 90.
30 minutes time extra.
Really hard fought.
In the meantime, the Iron have had a nice rest.
Brilliant! Thanks, Rene. How do you perform this magic?

Okay. Again the commentary isn’t where they have been all season. Are we supposed to guess? I don’t particularly want to buy the Vanarama TV to keep an eye on our opponents.
All I have to do is look up slightly from my armchair to view an idyllic scene with country cottage beside a pond.
An oil painting for £60, purchased a quarter of a century ago, it is a masterpiece by a gentleman called Richard Terence Heath.
Terry was truly one of our best CMs of all time.1 user thanked author for this post.
