With the probable points deduction from Chester game lowlife antics … missing out on the top spot looks pretty nailed on.
Ah, bon.
Anyone we know?
Clubs are often cagey about naming trialists – probably at the behest of the players themselves. There could be a fair number here already – unless anyone knows different?
Slovakia was the dirtiest international side that I’ve seen in quite a while, Rivers.

Yes, Cass. But York don’t want him as their third keeper.
Ah. A master of understatement!
Possibly, all AB has to do to succeed with a pretty decent team, is not to play in any fashion reminiscent of England’s last three games.Sadly – all too true.

What was the matter with those commentators in the first 45? As England ponced around, passing backwards, not winning corners, only got one proper cross into the box, no defence splitting passes – and looking like a JD team on a particularly bad day – they were purring with delight.
I marvelled at what rubbish was making them so gushing and effusive.
Of course, when Serbia bothered to turn up in the second 45 – the deficiencies which most Scunny fans would recognise instantly – became the order of the day.
I asked Mrs Lesgeo to judge the game on points as a boxing judge might – and she gave Serbia the nod.True enough but needs the build to go with that.
I wish him well. Welcome, Max.We need a heavy in CM. It would be nice to win occasional headers in that part of the pitch.

May you be very successful, Sam.
Are we allowed to sign 12 year olds?

I get really annoyed when Wet Wipes, Baby Wipes and similar don’t come out of the packet cleanly.

Pardon?
I loved the interview – okay, it was a bit wordy – but look at his eyes. I’ve never seen a manager for the Iron ooze the desire to succeed more than AB.
I see a man who ain’t gonna tolerate third rate performances (or second rate) as was the case with our last gaffer.
The proof of the pudding and all that … but this guy has, at least, got off to a terrific start.
Keep it up once teams get onto the pitch, AB.3 users thanked author for this post.
Shame a previous manager did not think like that.

I’ve kept quiet.
I am totally unsure what has happened and can’t believe that many contributors know any better.
Speculation is one thing – but there’s been rather too much blame floating about based on too little certainty.
How do people manage to take sides so easily?4 users thanked author for this post.
On what was surely ‘silly money’that we could not afford.
BTW, 414 – if Butterfield is 34 in June, he is then entering his 35th year.
Anyone know how many times JB failed to complete a match and was subbed around 70 minutes?
It’s one heck of a pointer.1 user thanked author for this post.
I think JB really is nearing the end of his career. The signs were already there. I’d rather hoped that he might have been Number 2 to AB which might well have been the best of both worlds for the club.

Yes. Some truth in that.
One of the very highest earners – obviously – and will be well into his 35th year by the start of the new season.
You can reasonably take a view that offering contracts to older players can be quite a risky decision.
He did slow down and will certainly not be getting any faster in the future. His goals also became less frequent, of course.
All things said, we’ll need someone pretty good to replace him.1 user thanked author for this post.
Denton was outstanding in the first half of last season but not quite at the same level in the second half.
An awful lot of talk. Not too many hard facts.
0 to 60 from a standing start in not too many seconds. That we will miss immensely. Other than that – not the greatest defender I’ve ever seen.
Could be a fairly hefty salary saved. Most of our generation has at least a few, Cass.

Hopefully not July.

Have spent time in countless chats with this incredibly personable guy over the decades. A VERY easy bloke to like.
A blow to Scunthorpe and to the Iron.
Best wishes to his family.7 users thanked author for this post.
Who was it on here who had persistently blown Hill’s trumpet?
