Nuttall went for around £100k, so that will have helped too (3 or 4 home gates worth of cash?).
Unfortunately the standard of the opposition is ramping up too, the next three looking decidedly tricky. No, for me it has to be NLN next season, and I’d say your statistician is being decidedly optimistic, Les. 90/10 for me at best.

Mr Hilton does not mess about does he.
A week ago we had never even heard of him or Jimmy Dean.
Makes a change after many years of someone who talked a lot but delivered feck all.
Looks like Sundays off is a thing of the past too!
Not necessarily…….
Yes I was very shocked when Nelson was asked straight out by the Humberside in the after match interview, Humberside should have done a quick check with the club to make sure that Nelson was aware of the situation. On the other hand, Scunny supporters are always complaining that thewy are kept in the dark with EVERYTHING, and the real blame is by Peterborough Sports for announcing the news on bloody twitter.
Agreed, BS.
This seems to indicate that the Peterborough Sports players knew on Thursday, so its not surprising it came out I guess. Hey ho, onward and hopefully upward.
Realistically we have to start again in tier 6.
The damage inflicted by you know who has been too great for us ever to recover it in a third of a season. Although the new owner obviously cannot rule out survival publicly, all will now be focused rightly on setting us up for challenging for promotion next season.1 user thanked author for this post.
Double Dutch to me, that. Horse racing is welcome to have him…..
But remember this time last week we were looking at no club at all.

CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT – JIMMY DEAN

Always remembering of course that whatever the result of the game today, it is almost irrelevant to the wider picture, after what we’ve been through.
I said he owns everything; however, the stadium is under Scunthorpe United LTD and the land may be under a different company that Hilton own. A company that will look to develop the land for the club’s benefit as he stated.
Like I said, I may well have interpreted it wrong, but it was something I picked up on.
That is how I interpreted it too, Cliff.
If that is how it is, it boils down to whether we trust the new owner more than we did the former owner with that.
My view on that is that I’d rather the club be where it is now than where it was a week ago.
The longer term plan must be to develop much of the land around the ground (obviously with the acquiescence of the planning authority) and maybe the end game would be to relocate the ground (across the road?).He didn’t say that, WG, what he said was that any new training facility would not be too far distant (in geographical terms). He didn’t say it would be on the land near the ground.

The clearest message from that is that he thinks we are very over staffed off the field!
I think Cass and I are probably just reflecting our life experience, and how we have seen things pan out in real life, which for me is over 60 years!

Exactly
I think the point is that our club is (apparently) secure (for a little longer at least). What we do not need is another bout of spending money we don’t have. Stabilisation and organic growth is fine by me. I do not expect to get back in the FPL anytime soon. Level 6 will be difficult enough next season.
Or EFL indeed!

I know that all the family members have been removed from the website, the club statement has been made that David Hilton is now Owner and Chairman and that a Termination notice has been filed with Companies House for both of the Swanns but what about Coolsilk Property & Investment Limited? The company is still listed as ‘Persons with significant control’ is this just a formality and takes a bit of time to be changed or has the wool been pulled (again) before a big bill at the end of the month needs to be paid?
Sorry to be a cynic but we have been burnt before.
The Coolsilk charge has been satisfied by the look of it, BUT there is still one outstanding charge (and only one) and that is to “Svenska Handelsbanken Ab (Publ)” and signed off by David Beeby in 2015. One assumes that Mr. Hilton has this in hand………..
The point is that a CEO of a professional football club cannot be seen to be in any way condoning the breaking of ground regulations.
What if he turned a blind eye to the following ones for instance?
“Racial, homophobic or discriminatory abuse, chanting or harassment is strictly forbidden
and will result in arrest and/or ejection from the Ground.”
“The use of threatening behaviour, foul or abusive language is strictly forbidden and will result
in arrest and/or ejection from the Ground.”1 user thanked author for this post.
A huge mistake?
Not sure about that.
What if we get deducted three points for the pitch invasion say, and are relegated by a point?Ian Sharp
@IanSharp
For whatever it’s worth Lee Turnbull was incredibly supportive and carried himself with dignity and respect under extremely difficult circumstances. Like every other staff member I had the pleasure of meeting he bleeds

I’ll have some of what he’s on!
Seriously though, everything depends on the product on the pitch, and fingers crossed that aspect goes well tomorrow.
Lee is doing a great job in really trying circumstances.

Probably agent greed scuppered it this time, but he’ll be off in January to a league club IF he continues scoring. So a significant risk for Joe and his agent. I’ll bet Mr. and Mrs. S. are livid though at £100k slipping through their fingers.

The bookies have already written us off. 8/15 favourites to finish bottom. They must have a good idea how this season will go in terms of the clubs finances. That is, we will sell anyone who can command a fee, and cut wage costs as far as we can as the season progresses. The inevitable result being as they predict. Obviously I hope I’m wrong but, by extension, under the current ownership I’d say it’s odds on too that we’ll be semi professional in NLN next year.

They have already put them up for sale earlier this month, so you can expect them too to be non league again before too long.
So the asset stripping continues. We’ll be part time next season, it’s inevitable.
Well, the bookies (who usually have a very good idea) make Maidenhead clear favourites at 6/5, and 15/8 for an away win. Maidenhead will be up for this one for sure, so nothing less than total commitment from us will do.
1 user thanked author for this post.
I did think both Maidenhead and Dorking were part time, Mick, but your information might just be more up to date.
Yes a real banana akin awaits on Saturday. And we’ll probably be up against the ref too, as Chesterfield were last Saturday. Maidenhead will be well up for it too.
