Wait till the manager has all the players he wants, then sack him and let the new manager pick up the pieces with players he doesn’t want or know…then repeat. It’s the Scunthorpe way. You know it makes sense.

Quite simple…support the “team of youngsters” whilst they play and protest at the end. I suggest a minutes “sarcastic” applause?
Let’s give them a chance, better than we had this time yesterday.
That’s a great sentiment. Whoever pulls on the shirt for the first time gets my support. Let’s hope they get us out of this rapidly descending hole. Time to make a name for themselves and achieve instant cult status.
5’8″ according to the Shrews website.
6’2” according to chief scout wiki!
I make that 14 goals in 151 games for our new strike force? Of course, I’ve used Wikipedia as my chief scout. Let’s hope someone knows more than wiki…
At what point did I mention stopping supporting? Guff like that is why I don’t post very often.
This is the club I stared to support 40 years ago and I’ve seen plenty of ups and downs (more downs than ups). It would make no difference what division we were in (as it happens I would rather support a national league team than a premier league team as I think those values are closer to my own). There is however a matter of pride in the team, club, town, people and values of the club and area that currently seems on short supply. I for one would prefer to see that restored and respect those that tried to uphold those values. Maybe it’s too much to ask of those who are after all employees of a company, after all how many of us would give the same at our work?
For what it’s worth ant to risk talking about footballing matters…
I think we have a decent manager who with some backing could get us moving in the right direction
I think we have played some dreadful football over the past 3 years and have recruited in a haphazard (at best) and negligent(at worst) fashion, resulting in many people choosing to spend hard earned cash on other activities
There has been a lot of big announcements that have got fans excited but failed to materialise, contributing to people choosing to spend money on other areas
A rather large debt built up resulting in assets being sold to pay for them (we just have to hope that the sentiment that we need not worry, all is safe is correct)
But to keep to the thread… disappointing players choose clubs lower down the pyramid than us for either monetary or professional reasons. Makes the recruitment job even more challenging? And I wholeheartedly agree…
I don’t get some people at all
Peace to all 🤝

Isn’t that us…sorry 4 months premature.

I remember it being installed and thinking we were the dogs bits for having one….happy days!
Amazingly we are only one win away from being out of the bottom two. How we are not well adrift by this point is amazing. Shows there are poor teams at this end of the league so definitely some hope we can put a run together and stay up now.
On a serious note…quietly pleased with the appointment.
1%?
It’s the hope that kills you …
We’re going down, with Cox in charge. We’re 99% certain to go down with someone else in charge. What’s the difference?

Hey, look at the positives. We drew the second half.

Bottom line….
we drew at home to a team who will be in or around us come May…3 users thanked author for this post.
But didn’t the Prawn once say we were no longer a selling club?
[/quote]
Technically we’re not selling…we’re giving him away?

Going into a football league season with an under 23 squad…bold move.
On the plus side….it means our scouts are doing a decent job in finding talent? Just looking for a silver lining!
