Doncaster was one of the other two and I can’t remember the other one either.

I think that is absolute nonsense. Roj owns Mizaans & has nothing to do with Rahmans!
Only repeating what my son was told. – don’t shoot the messenger
if the funds are so tight re actually buying the club will there be money to invest in new players etc etc to get us out of this clusterfook situation.
Most local people haven’t got the funds to join in and be a part of the consortium but we can support the local businesses who are. My son was with friends at Rahman’s the other night and the waiter said that they were part of the consortium – if you fancy a meal out or a takeaway go there rather than anywhere else and at least we can do our bit to support in an indirect way.
I’m not sure who else is joining in as part of the consortium but when and if we are told it will form a big part of my decision making when I buy any service.7 users thanked author for this post.
I’d buy a share at £5K if there are another 999 willing to do the same.
That’s £5m.I would do the same – I don’t know if there is an official page, or if the people who are looking to buy the club could put the opportunity out there for the public to help get a deal over the line. I would definitely be interested in helping but don’t have loads of cash to spare in these difficult times. I know Peterborough offered some form of bond and generated a lot of cash to be used for players. Those people who have bought a season ticket may be a good starting point for a prospective new owner to tap into!
As long as Sawann isn’t buying it from his wife!!! If that’s the case he is not having any of my money.1 user thanked author for this post.
I wonder, based on Hill’s comments in the interview post match whether there is something amiss of a personal nature with him.
I can’t remember the exact words but he talked of things ‘off field’ but when pressed for what he meant he said that he was a private person and did not want to say anything else.
Maybe Swann is aware of any issue and will not fire him at this time.
If that is the case surely for Hill’s mental state he should be given some time off to put things right.
I would prefer him to have 2 months leave and put Daws in charge on a temporary basis until the new owners (if there are any) are in place who will then choose their own manager. Hill obviously is not going to walk away so just relieve him of the stress of managing the team on a day to day basis as the role is too much for him at this moment in time.1 user thanked author for this post.
I saw an interview with Radio Humberside where Keith was saying that he has not had any contact with Rochdale at all other than to take his son to his football matches/practices. Never one to miss bigging himself up he thought his name was being touted because of the ‘enormous success that I had in my previous two spells at the football club’.
He ought to be concentrating on his terrible tenure here rather than harping back to his ‘glory days’ – you’re only as good as your last game Keefy.2 users thanked author for this post.
Agree – great atmosphere today and Lee Turnbull has worked his socks off to try to create a better club/community feel.
Thought the new players all did well, also though O’Mally was excellent in the first half, didn’t see too much of the ball in the second to create chances with Feeney.
Nuttall is a big presence – he should cause more problems than he does and really needs to watch the flight of the ball before attempting to get off the ground as he usually mis times every jump. Taft has me worried every time he tries to pass the ball but to be fair he did win a few headers at the end to clear the danger.
All in all I’m pleased to get that first win and to see the ground rocking – fans were amazing.12 users thanked author for this post.
Great result today – I am wondering why Daws has never taken the plunge into first team manager? He has done a fantastic job with the youngsters as shown by their performance this afternoon.
Maybe he is wary of putting his head above the parapet, especially if he has a mortgage to pay but how amazing it would be to take the youth team through to first team success, he obviously knows how to build a great team spiritCannot understand Alexander. Starts off Jurgen Kiopp and then morphs into Gareth Southgate.
Agree with that, if I were a CEO I would employ him with a contract that said at Christmas take a break – go off for 5 weeks, do some scouting and come back refreshed and steamroller us to the top of the league by the end of the season.
No football manager would ever agree to that kind of deal but if you have any other business and have a manager who you know is essentially good at his job but has just lost his way you would give him a break.
Apart from the lack of money that’s probably why I’m never going to be the CEO of a football club!!I think in hindsight Swann should have put the club up for sale when we lost that playoff – it was then that he lost interest, he possibly wouldn’t have the stick that he has now and he may have got a better price for it.

My brother was chatting to a neighbour of mine who moves in the local foootballing circles, he said that Swann has sold the 4 stands at Glanford Park – not sure if that is possible or not and what that would mean if true.
Can’t go as much as £5000 but would put in £1000 if a serious effort was made to purchase the ground and put in a trust. Ps wouldn’t dare tell Mrs A.
I wouldn’t know how to go about it, and I appreciate that things are tough for a lot of people with the increase in living costs but there may be quite a few fans who would be prepared to put some money in to get rid of Swann.
It may be enough to get one of the consortiums over the line to get control.2 users thanked author for this post.
What has happened to Michael McBride the physio
I think Hill said that 2 of the backroom staff had gone to Doncaster – I think Matt Dean did ask ‘is that Mike? Don’t know how many Mike’s there are at Scunny.
The other worrying thing that he said was that there were 2 players all ready to sign their name to a contract and they backed out at the 11th hour – I think we will be the club of last resort for a lot of players.Jackie, the club do like to use Twitter, for those that don’t know Scunthorpe united have put the most tweets out of any club in the world ( of course until proven otherwise).
That’s okay if you do ‘Twitter’ but I don’t and would have thought that there would have been some kind of acknowledgment of it on the main website
I’m Just an old dinosaur I guess and look at the site for club information.
I will get with it and sign upI thought I would have a look at the club website to see about this coffee morning and there is no mention of it at all, had to call the office to see if it was still going ahead.
If it wasn’t for this forum I would not have known that it was going on, seems a strange way to encourage people to attend. For all Hill’s talk of building for the future, unless it’s a comedy club he was aiming for he has fallen wide of the mark.
Surely he has to go, the team has no direction and no tactical nous.
He set the team up to fail today,he should resign, he’s just not up to the job.3 users thanked author for this post.
‘Well. Can people now begin to see what KH is doing for the club?’
Or does it show that Tony Daws should actually be the manager as he has demonstrated that he is someone who can build a team and play attacking football?

My biggest gripe about Keith Hill is that he has more or less given the players a license to lose every game, he has no expectation that they will try to win a game or put the opposition under any pressure.
I know that you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear but there should be some sort of game plan or system that the team understand and buy into.
My impression is that with about 15 games of the season still to go Hill gave up and started talking about planning for the new season ‘in whatever league we are in’, there didn’t seem to be any fight or desire to keep us up.
Remember Greece winning the Euros – no star players and on paper one of the weakest teams but there was a plan, everyone knew what was expected of them and they did the basics well, their manager had an expectation that the players would trust in his plan and all play their part. Our manager has no expectation of our players and guess what, they deliver just what he asks them to – nothing. When your manager makes no demands on you and says it’s not a problem if you fail it’s very easy to drift along – Hill seems to have given the okay to just drift out of the league – it’s very sad for anyone connected with Scunthorpe United.2 users thanked author for this post.
There is nothing in the statement that couldn’t have been said on Thursday with the original announcement of stepping down as chairman. Just another way of once again getting our hopes up only for them to be dashed – typical

Ha, I am a female, a bit too long in the tooth the be a girl !
When I went to school girls weren’t allowed to play football and so I have to admit that I am more of an armchair critic than most of you. Whereas I have never played football I have played many other team sports and I just can’t understand why we don’t seem to have a game plan. No one appears to know what their role in the team is or what is expected of them
As professional players surely they should be able to trap the ball, pass the ball and control the ball.
I was pleased to get Keith Hill onboard but I am still waiting for the new manager bounce – his record is awful and I don’t agree with the sentiment that the embargo has tied his hands. He has brought his own players in and got rid of others – i don’t think he has improved us at all.
There have been teams in football who don’t have great players but they have a plan of action and all do their own job – why do ours not know what to do?
With other results over the last few weeks going our way we could have given ourselves a fighting chance but we look dejected and down and out – it could have been so different.4 users thanked author for this post.
Unless he is injured Onariase should always start. Taft was awful today, can’t think of anything he did well. Watson kept us in the game yet again, hope he gets the respect from some posters on here who jump on every mistake he makes. Our passing and decision making leaves a lot to be desired and why we always look to pass backwards I just don’t know. Hill must be wondering what he has taken on.

I would relish the thought of Sir Nigel back in the Scunny dug out but I doubt that he would come to us as Manager as it would look like a backwards step for him.
However that doesn’t stop someone on the board asking if he would ‘help’ Cox a little, to look at things from a fresh perspective and bring a little positivity to the club and fan base. Yes it would cost money but not as much as firing Cox would – he could be employed as a consultant on a short term basis. They both have positive feelings for the club and both may benefit. Cox by having a sounding board to bounce off and Adkins for having a bit of a wage coming in.2 users thanked author for this post.
I was at the game today, my work colleagues is a Harrogate Town fan and he got me a ticket so not only did i have to suffer the embarrassment of the result but i did so in the middle of a load of jubilant Harrogate fans who couldn’t believe how bad we were. I did notice Cliff Byrne sitting a few rows across from me making notes. I don’t know if he was watching Wood or one of their players. (We made them all look good), but he left when it was 5-0 – maybe he is considering putting himself forward if and when Cox gets the bullet.
When I say he left at 5-0, I mean that he left just before we scored, about 10 mins from the end of normal time
