How many players have actually been recruited from the junior ranks in recent years who have made a telling difference or monumental contribution to the first team.
Levi Sutton springs to mind. (and even that’s debatable).
The reason we produce no decent first team players from our own is because we have no decent youth set up, if anybody actually took the time to investigate the system they would see the flaws and understand the outcome.
The ones being plugged of recent are the sons of ex-pro’s stands to reason then that the son’s will have the talent.
No they don’t sadly and its time the supporters asked some very real questions, because I am sick and tired of the greatest loyalist of loyal supporters coming on here and trying to convince us that a pigs ear is a silk purse.
It is holding us back as a club and in producing real young talent capable of playing football. Just for example a youth player scores 2 goals v Barton Town in a pre-season friendly and is then the be all and end all of our first team aspirations.
No he was shit in pre-season, played in the diddly donk cup and was subbed having made no telling contribution, but cos he is from Goole and has a cousin who once worked at the old heavy section mill and knows someone from scunny he is all of a sudden a great player.
That’s why he ended up at Scarborough making no headlines at all!!!!!
Time to wake up fellow Iron diehards and dare ask the question what does Tony Daws actually do?
Well well dear old Ernest Pawn has not only seen us out of the league after 72 years he has done a monumental runner.
After bullshit, then after more bullshit and some more bullshit tooboot he has done a massive back track and a retreat befitting the Italians in WW 11 or Saddam Hussian in Gulf War 1 (that’s the legal one for any numpty about to spill their guts)!!!!!!
If you are a man of your word you will sell the club in total, walk away to be confined to the anals (deliberate) of history, and leave no strings ie the car park for development in your stead.
This complete and utter disaster is of your making and yours alone and now you have chosen to stand down or run away. Leave the ground and its facilities intact to retrieve some semblance or modicum of respect.

Sadly no young player coming into the first team has really shone or provided that ‘wow’ factor which is a pity given the extremely poor squad of players we have been served up this season.
The last time I posted a comment on a player was about Jarvis who anyone with half an ounce of footballing brain could see was a complete and utter plank.
So as decried by others I gave him a chance and still he remained a plank, giving Jarvis and others of equal wooden talent is why we are where we deservedly are and will remain.

Rapidly coming to the conclusion that Kieffy is Lancashire despot rather than hotpot.
At least with Lee the ‘bull’ is in the name, rather than spilling out of ones mouth each and every meeting, pod-cast, radio interview or statement.
“I will leave this club in a better position than when I took over”
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm premiership of non league teams.

On reflection it would have been better if he had left prior 50 per cent plus of the fan base!

Are you sure? Just had a look and the ground is still there!!!!
Well Mr Wonderful that photo is a welcome sight.
A true gentleman and Scunthorpe United supporter Mr Wharton.
Can’t recall our club ever being treated as it is now, or there being a division with the supporters as exists currently.
Can’t recall the ground being robbed or carpark being built on.
Can’t recall seeing supporters shackled or being gagged.
Then Mr Wharton wasn’t a little, tardy, egotistical bully.

SIA Security Industry Authority
There is no law in the UK that prevents civilians carrying handcuffs. SIA licensed security operatives have no legal powers over and above other civilians. Anyone who does carry handcuffs should be aware that their use could constitute a crime, unless they can show that using them was reasonable and proportionate in the circumstances.

It’s getting worse on and off the pitch.
The football we are being served up is the worst I have ever seen in over 46 years.
Where can I buy the rose tinted glasses as worn by Ernest Pawn and Kith Helli ?

As a long time supporter of the Iron including during those so-called hooligan years the behaviour of the stewards towards young HOME supporters is disgraceful.
Yesterday’s unsavoury handcuff incident was embarrassing and shameful.
I often witness the AWAY fans stood up in the seats or even at the wall in the away end several deep on the concourse this has on more than one occasion led to away fans jumping onto the pitch when their team scores. These so called fans are led back and assisted over the wall by the stewards and certainly not ‘cuffed’.
Of course those Away fans are men over 18 not like the 14/15 year old home fans being provoked and pushed around by over zealous stewarding including robocop complete with epaulets, pips and handcuffs.
Another negative to add to Ernest Pawns CV.

Another board member is leaving end of season apparently (non family of course) and yet another staff member.
That surely says it all about the toxicity and poison emanating from Ernest Pawn. That and his abhorrent treatment of home fans.
Simon Elliott was our greatest hope of retaining a club or even resurrecting one from the utter and complete shambles created by the ego of one Ernest Pawn.
We are not only utterly shite on and off the pitch, we are now an embarrassment on and off the pitch.

Christ! even his name makes me cringe, the worst of the worst, there is no wonder we are leaving league football without so much as a chuff or a fart.
None of them are good enough for our first team and never will be. NCEL or NPL at the best, I wish them well as we sink to join them.
Poor old Steve.
He was and still is a genuine supporter of the Iron, his health forced him to move aside and it was either Hobson or Swann, excuse the pun but that really was Hobson’s choice.
We will be the first club relegated from the league on ‘one mans ego’ and yes I want Ernest gone, but why should he walk away scot free and with a stadium of real estate in his arse pocket?

This must be the only club fans site that lets a ‘Cod’ the arch enemy on, then lets it post its crap and responds in all honesty believing that said ‘Cod’ wont be reposting this on a ‘fishy forum’ and enjoying our abject misery and resignation of what is to come.
The only consolation is we wont be suffering the monitone brothers of Tonder and Hurst when we sink faster than government policy on EU fishing grounds rights.
No ‘cod’ I do not find the latter funny either!!!!!!!
Your taking the piss now mate.
Sadly very, very sadly not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A few have been taking it for years and nobody knew. Or even kin cared.
Takes off Burns and Feeney today who were our best players. Burns kept the Dale defence busy whereas Nuttall did f#####l again.
Left Hackney on who is okay going forward but a liability in defence and far far too weak in the tackle, and right now we need grafters who will put a shift in not the lightweights.
As far as I am concerned Hill started with a complete and utter disaster left by Cox or I would be seriously questioning his tactics and team selections.

How did we score on the matchday programme?
Very amateur to not have one at all and low and behold we will soon be in the once amateur leagues!
Utter crap and its getting worse, teams only after run at us and we literally become a jibbering bunch of even more useless twats than normal.
Too many of our players spend too much time passing backwards, they would rather play a 40 yard back pass than a 10 yard forward one.
There are glimpses of positives but very few and far between and certainly not enough to keep the club in the football league.
Lost to most of the teams around us, and every one of them even Walsall have looked better sides.

You won’t be missed. I’d rather sit/stand with 1500 fans than 4000 ‘customers’. Good riddance.
Did not say I wasn’t going you ####, I will be there just said I wasn’t looking forward to it.
Les I like your analogy however most of these will never make a box let alone a cabinet.
Apparently Ernest can now see that this current squad is not good enough.
‘HELLO’
So 8 days left in the transfer window to really make a difference.

He was Shite might as well come and join all the other shite.
I don’t remember Devries,I was only young then,They were all great in those days
Roger De Vries a right fullback from Hull City. Owned a car dealership in Hull after his playing career finished.
The team and squad of 81-82 was better than today’s derisory offering. The lads back then cared for the shirt and we went into each game with hope and optimism.
It was the last season playing in red and the first season ever of a coloured programme. We can’t even get that right now.
We are poorly run on all fronts with baffling off the field decisions. In fact somebody fiddles whilst Rome burns.
The aforementioned squad is missing Ronnie Goodless a winger from Everton who was superb at our level.

We are gone. The writing is on the wall and we are signing kin fullbacks.
Come May Scrimshaw will be with a Premiership team. Billson a Championship one.
Whilst Burns will be leaving a National League Team!!!!!.
F row crew reminds us of our numerous years of football, fun, laughs, travel, life experiences, good memories and friendships.
Sadly none of the above have been under the tenure of Ernest Pawn.
Had a chance to redeem himself on the back of the shareholder meetings, AGM , sacking of Cox, appointment of Keith Hill, appointment of Simon Elliot and by simply delivering on a promise. Any promise.
Looked like we had turned the corner and were riding a positive wave. Ernest reverted to type more talk more promises and f### all delivery.
Big NO from me.

I agree with pretty much all that has been said, to bring in a young unproven lad from any team is a great risk.
Loft is a big strong battling centre-forward who is a real handful as proven on Boxing Day away at Oldham. The type of striker Mr Hill likes so its a great pity Loft’s head had already been turned away from the Iron as most of his displays show!
Young Lewis did nothing wrong v Carlisle but the decision to replace him for Loft left us without a strike force at all until Scrimshaw came on.
Given what is at stake ie over 70 years of league status which did not come easily in the first place and with National league budgets at phenomenal levels it would be even harder to regain league status.
To sign in-experienced players and potentially allow ours to go to relegation rivals would be a massive own goal.
Seemingly on and off the pitch things had turned a corner, the January transfer window incomings and outgoings are a true test of the Chairman’s nous and football gamesmanship and the message he sends out to the clubs around us.
It may be cheaper in the long run to consign Loft to the reserves, loose him for nothing in the summer rather than allow his goals to keep someone else up.
As if to prove it, first player out O’Neill who should never have been signed in the first place.
A very poor player, could see after 2 minutes v Swindon that this person was not committed to the Iron.
His gait, his stance everything about him said NFI (not f###### interested).
A massive plum signed by an even bigger plum!
Goodbye.
