The guy from Forest with the top knot – about 15 years ago. At centre forward.
He’s a must!
Not even any suggestions from WG.
Close seasons just not what they used to be back in the day.
Don’t encourage him.
We’ll have a list of 20 before the days out…..

Did anyone expect anything other than a German win?
Yes, I was expecting a 0-0.
However, Germany were better than expected & Scotland were awful.
PS I’m from North of the border!!
A bunch of kids who haven’t got a clue.
Pre-season:-
Tue, July 9th – Barton Town (A) – 7.30pm
Sat, July 13th – Bradford City (H) – 2pm
Tue, July 16th – Gainsborough Trinity (A) – 7.30pm
Sat, July 20th – Brigg Town CIC (A) – 1pm
Tue, July 23rd – Bottesford Town (A)- 7pm
Sat, July 27th – FC Halifax Town (H) – 1pm
Tue, July 30th – Hartlepool United (A) – 7.45pm
“With six fixtures now confirmed for the first team, there are a couple more to be announced to finalise the pre-season schedule. As soon as they’re confirmed, we will announce.”That seems a punishing schedule considering the size of squad we’re expecting. Plenty of triallists maybe?
Looks like 7 games to me.

Some revisionist history going on here methinks.
Ogle was a very good player at this level. If he had all the attribute that have been listed above he would be on his way to the Euro’s!!
An excellent player for us the last couple of years. Committed, consistent and a good bit of pace.
Another 10 like that in the team, in their respective positions, and we would – as Burney said last year – “piss the league”.
He may well be missed.

The ground was never valued at £11M. IIRC it was valued at £5.5M.
Swann “wrote off” the £11M when he took the ground. He then sold it for £3M. An £8M loss.
He could have left the debt, and the ground with the Club. He could then have called in the £11M he was owed & bankrupted the Club. He would have claimed whatever value was raised from any sale of any assets. It could have been more than £8M, but it would probably have been less.
He was not a good Chairman at all. However, he could really gave shafted the Club big time if he had wanted to.
Agree with most of that Fans but let’s not forget Swann took the ground having stated many times over the years that he would not do so.
Regarding the ground and Hilton the situation was the same when he left as it was when he arrived. We should never forget what the pair of them did but do we really need to be giving Hilton the oxygen of publicly for his ramblings.
At least Swann keeps his mouth shut and doesn’t try and defend the indefensible.
I’m certainly not defending Swann, but I do feel that there is a different perspective to your viewpoint.
He transferred the ground to one of his comapies in return for writing off £11M debt (not getting into the arguement about who caused the debt!!). This also allowed us to carry on operating solvently.
He also sold the ground at a value which I believe, as did others, was below market value (agan, not getting involved in arguing the “real” value). He could have left us with the ground AND £11M debt and just walked away.
My view on Swann is that he had good intentions but was far too arrogant and conceited to listen to anyone who knew what they were doing. He always thought that he knew best – and probably still does.
Hilton is just a crook.
N E Old……

It’s not that I don’t like the thread, it’s the fact that it is incorrect.
So it isn’t just plain wrong then. Delete the thread.
It’s so easy to call anyone who criticises a fickle supporter.
It wasn’t because we lost on penalties that I am so disappointed.
It’s not the fact that we finished second after the scariest season of my life that I am openly critical.
Dean should not have been appointed in the first place. He should not have been allowed to take us into this season – although we still had Hilton them and nobody knew what was happening.
It’s the total lack of progression that makes me mad. We all know that we had the best squad in the league. Occasionally we played some great football – my mate from Oxford met met away at Banbury and said that we played like Brazil!!
Even Burney would have got us into the play-offs. So Dean has failed.
He is out of contract, so just let him go. Please find us someone with a proper Plan A and a structures Plan B. Two up top and proper substitutions.

Recommended for the staff – get a new manager.
Gurney, we may well have sacked too many managers, but I believe that the majority of supporters were in agreement with all of them. After all, they were sacked for a reason.
Just because we have sacked a number of managers dies not mean we should stick with one who has produced some incredibly boring football and has failed to achieve what was asked of him. And he had money.
The next man will likely have a lot less money and just as great an expectation on him. And we may get it wrong. However, it would be negligent to stick with JD.
As for who, I personally don’t know. But there will be a fair number of current managers who would be keen to join us. They will believe that they will be the one to return us to the promised land. Let’s hope that we choose the right man (or Lady!!).

“a really nice guy and genuinely loves and wants the best for this football club”
There over 6,500 people like that at the game yesterday. I wouldn’t want any of them managing the team either!!
We need a fresh start with a fresh manager.
I will attend far less next season if JD stays as well. Mainly because his style bores me most of the time.

Why?
Because Jimmy Dean is our manager. Hopefully not for much longer!
Maybe the club think we still play at the old showground. Very patronizing telling the people of Scunthorpe where the car parks are.
Many supporters don’t live near Scunthorpe. It’s a good few years since I’ve been in to town, so I have no idea where you can park.
They are trying to help people. As Deerey said, you’d have complained if they hadn’t said anything.

VAR works perfectly well for armchair Sky TV watching plastic second club tosspots.
VAR is just wrong.
If you are at the ground you don’t have a clue what is going on.
If you’re watching on TV you get endless angles & repeats until you’re blue in the face.
Either way it diminishes what you are watching.
What is clear and obvious? If it is then the referee and linesmen (or should I say assistant refs) should spot it.
It should be banned immediately.
. they were ok while they were holding them, but totally out of order when they threw 2 of them,
What a load of rubbish.
When they were holding them they were surrounded by other people, and of course, they were in danger themselves.
There is no justification for flares in a football ground.
We may not have an option Rene.
I was so confident that we would finish second but, yet again, the team have other plans.
57 years and I still get surprised……

4 games in 9 days should not be a problem for a super fit FULL TIME correctly rotated team and tactically astute manager ….should it ??
And what does that have to do with us?
Nobody was talking about him last week, or for the last 5 years or so.
He was not a good manager @ Scunny. He has done very well at Coventry. These things happen.

Poor old WG, still can’t read properly.
I still wouldn’t put money on us…..

The time came a long time ago!!
We can’t afford to sack him, but we can send him on gardening leave until end of season (and should have done so a good while back).
Anybody could do a better job.

Pay him off now. We have to pay him anyway, but if he stays he could #@?& up any chance of getting promoted (he’s already made sure that we won’t be champions).
Yes
But you will draw attention to it. Prat.
